Why my Husband wants to Leave Japan and Move to America

- My Japanese husband has been to America 3 times in the last year and he really loves it. I brought him to Chicago for the first time and he said he wants to move there. But does he really know America after just 3 visits or is he just seeing the country through rose-colored glasses?

@@OrientalPearldoes the tigers still play in detroit?bring Tommy to a tigers game.
@@OrientalPearl 😮 According to a YT video, "India, Vietnam,
Mexico plan to trap & checkmate China." Tommy should cover
Hindi & Spanish so you can give us the inside scoop on this plot.
Japan should get a piece of this action.
@@OrientalPearlI only went to Chicago one time 30 years ago (for 4-5 hours layover). I don't want to return just to get murdered. That place is Murder town USA⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦
Tommy should not shy away from expressing himself in Japanese when he wants to, when you're there to subtitle him. 😁
Indeed. 🇯🇵🇺🇸
This is a good point. I don’t know why he always speaks English in front of the camera.
@@OrientalPearl prob wants everyone to understand him or could be practicing but this comment is true he doesn't need to be scared to express himself in japanese if he doesnt know how to express that word or himself
Agreed. Also, good choice in Tommy!!❤ As a dad with teenage girls, he's a keeper 😊
@@timlol4374 yeah in the future
I am so invested in Tommy. He’s like a real life anime character, he’s always happy and so supportive
I just love Tommy! He's not afraid to express himself and experiment with new things.
He’s so much fun. We need him in more videos.
@@OrientalPearlyes we do!!!
@@OrientalPearl absolutely agree, he is very cool! I love his spontaneity and how he gulps hot dogs!!!
It's so cute seeing how close Tommy is to your mom! Having a partner that has a good relationship with your family is SOO important!! 💜
It is for sure!
Tommy is so lighthearted and funny, and he brings out the funny/light hearted side of everyone around him. I see why you married him! He went from a clumsy boy losing his passport to a man firing a gun within a matter of days, and kissing the tiny guppy he caught was a highlight LOL! Calling himself American while wearing the most touristy Chicago hat and t-shirt also got me. You're all such fun to live vicariously through, thank you for sharing your wholesome family and travels!
As a Chicagoan, I approve of this modern Ferris Buehlers Day Off. 🇺🇲🏆😎
I’m so glad you liked this Chicago video!
@@OrientalPearl As a fellow Chicagoan as well we loved it. Thanks!!
i havent been to this city since april 9th 2018
Bueller...Bueller... Bueller...
You guys had so much fun! Tommy seems much more relaxed now and enjoying his visits more.
This trip was even better than the first one.
i’m so proud of Tommy! his english is getting so good!
He’s been studying really hard.
Now I expect a video series of Tommy going around shocking American people with his excellent English. Then he needs to visit Mexico and Quebec, and show off his Spanish and French :-)
Wow, this has to be one of my favorite videos of yours! Tommy really had a blast in America whether it was losing his passport after his flight to America (tell him the lost and found isn’t like Japan), seeing how big Chicago rooms are in comparison, losing some money and then going on a (dirty) train, singing at the Baseball game and eating a hotdog, shooting a gun at a firing range, riding a Sea-Doo, catching a fish, and most importantly… Making memories with family! Your mom and dad were so wholesome and welcoming too. What a successful trip you both had. Thank you for making videos like this and bringing us viewers along for the ride. I wish you safe travels returning to Japan! 💜💜💜
I’m so glad that of every video this was your favorite. I always have so much fun making couple videos. If I could I’d make several of these a month.
Really enjoy watching Tommy in the videos. He's so easy going and has a humorous side to him. Also, he really seems to have a more comfortable and positive view of America than most coming to visit from out of country.
I’m glad you like the videos with him in it. I like making these the most.
Most people that come to the US have a positive view of the country, otherwise they wouldn't choose to do so.
@@flickwtchr of course, I agree. It's just that Tommy is super passionate about it, which is a good thing.
@@jayf4612well said bro haha
Well he’s Japanese, and they have a pretty positive view of your country :D
So it would be more surprising to expect someone like me (I’m Russian) and not Japanese person to have a positive view of the US haha (btw I have a good attitude towards your country even tho I’ve never been there)
You and Tommy are the cutest couple ! As a 60 yr. old woman…I so enjoy your videos ! They’re so positive and uplifting, something that we’re lacking now a days.
And me as a 66 y/o woman also love their videos!
I’ve noticed Tommy’s English proficiency seems a lot better from earlier videos. Does he he practice a lot on English at home?
He's been working really hard at studying English!
I've lived in 6 US states and S.Korea and it still surprises me how many people never leave their home town.
Yeah, that’s most of my family. They aren’t into traveling.
I’m the same. I live in North Dakota right now and I’ve met so many people who have never even left the county they live in let alone the state. They tell me they are scared of outsiders.
I love Tommy's enthusiasm. It's contagious.
Your husband is so cute lmao. I mean, he just has that charm. Tbh he reminded me of the best friend that gets the unfortunate turn of events in some of the movies/TV series where stuff happens to best friends lol. Like he's so perfect for that role it's uncanny. Great video, your parents are like mine, everyone in this video seems incredibly down to earth and that's what I love the most about it.
As a Chicagoan, I was really hoping you were going to bring Tommy here when you were home. Chicago is kind of the Osaka to New York City being Tokyo. I hope he loved it!
What does that make LA?
@@rztrzt in my opinion maybe Yokohama. It’s all
Completely subjective though.
@@rztrzt The Marianas Trench, don't go there
He loved it so much he wants to live there.
Take him to "The Weiner's Circle"
One big happy family. Always one love towards you and your husband and family. Enjoy yourself to fullest.🙂
Thank you so much 😊 more coming soon.
My wife left her passport on the plane at Hanedakuko in February this year. We waited about an hour for the plane crew to cleanup and find it. I know the feeling of leaving a place you love.
Wow! We waited an hour too.
Thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed Tommy experiencing America. The gun place was super funny. He is such a great guy and your family really showed him so many different things.
I had so much fun filming this and editing it.
Watching ya'll separate was so sad. I hope you'll be reunited soon 🫶
I was sad too. I’ll be back in Japan on Friday.
I've seen a lot of your videos and this is one of the funniest. I was cheesing through the whole video. You guys have funny interactions and Tommy ads some physical humor. The editing is good, the national anthem and the civil war march music, nice touch. Also just the reaction and novelty for Tommy of grandness that we Americans take for granted.
Awwwww i watch you both all of the time! Im on my way to being a polyglot because of you! Just how you and your husband live is inspiring! Ive been learning japanese for about 6 years, chinese and korean for about 3. I speak spanish almost fluently and a good amount of italian. You make such an impact. Every blessings on your journeys!! 頑張ってください❤
I'm glad he had so much fun!
We had a blast!
Congradulations to all of you for knowing how to enjoy yourselves. Tommy's a honorary gunslinging fisherman now. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Aww, thank you. We had a blast.
You both looked like you had a blast. Thanks for sharing.
I love making these kinds of videos.
Y’all are adorable. I love that he is such a goober, and I mean that in the most endearing way possible.
I LOVE your videos, I really really liked the box’s you brought on the boat, those seem fun!
Dang!! just the beginning alone made me smile so much!! and proud to be American! :)
I’m so glad that you enjoyed this one.
"the bullets are going that way" 🤣
Somebody needed to tell her lol
I always look forward to watching your videos truly amazing thank you 😊
Glad you like them!
Amazing video. Glad he had a great time in US.
We’ll have to come back again soon.

Wow, that’s so awesome! My mom just got a 1 year subscription to Tokyo Treat.
This was so wholesome and cute!! I’m from Michigan and love seeing you guys have fun here and giving Tommy an “American” experience 🤣🤣. Although, I think you should have helped him with the subway tickets so you guys didn’t lose 20 bucks!!

I’m so proud of Tommy, he is an American in my eyes 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yeah 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’m sure he wants to visit again soon.
Love how you are introducing him to American apple pie stuff- so cute! You guys seem more exuberant on American turf!
I can’t wait to show him the rest of the country.
I'm excited for Tommy to see and hear more of America. @@OrientalPearl
Love watching all your videos. Especially enjoyed the trip to America because I'm from Detroit. Your adventures with your husband and your family are just sublime. I adore all the laughter.
I want to thank you for all your videos, I am from Panama but live in Southeast Michigan and I think you have the most beautiful and kind family. It was a joy to see your husband discovering part of what I is to be an American. BTW you guys are the nicest Michiganders I have seen in 20 years! (Yoopers excluded, they are all nice). Me encanta tu canal de CZcams!
I'm going to Tokyo from Chicago in a few weeks! Happy to see the reverse :)
What a coincidence.
Such a wholesome vid! You did all the things I would have suggested visiting here. Love you both! ♥
I can’t wait until the next visit.
I'm a couple of weeks behind on your vids, but it was well worth the wait. That was another awesome trip Anmin! Next time you gotta get him up on an mechanical bull, take him out to a ranch and go camping!
Aww! 🥰So cool! You guys are back! ✨👍
Welcome back to America Tommy! You guys are a great couple. Thanks for the visit.

Love How Excited Tommy Was Catching Fish !
Me too. That was classic.
Tommy's English has improved so much since the earlier videos, it's good to see
For sure! He’s been studying hard.
Your husband is so funny. He really enjoyed himself. Great video.
Thank you for watching. I’m glad you liked this video. Please enjoy some more of my videos today and subscribe.
Fishing is engrained in Japanese culture, it makes sense he caught it so fast. It's the Asian blood.
That must be it lol.
Not necessarily, it depends more on where in Japan someone is from. I lived in Tokyo for 13 years when I was a kid and never went fishing until moving back to the U.S.
Some of the top Bassmaster pros are Japanese.
Lots of Japanese Americans love to fish. Not me though. 😂

It's nice to see that Tommy enjoyed America! Welcome!
I don’t have an urge to learn a new language but I still watch/am subscribed to your channel. Your vid’s are entertaining/knowledgeable. If I took up learning another language it would definitely be an Asian language like you probably Japanese. TY 4 the content🙂

I'm an Aussie who lived in Chicago for 2 years. Love that city. Great video.🎉🎉
It’s a cool place. Tommy loved it a lot.
Great video! I used to live in Chicago and Michigan and also go to Range USA often! It was fun seeing your adventures there!
+Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into making these videos.
I'd love it if you and Tommy went to a Sumo Basho sometime and showed us what that's like. I'd also love to hear Japanese peoples thoughts on Sumo, the scandals and its place in Japanese society through its Shinto and Samurai traditions. Not sure if that's up your alley or if Tommy even likes sumo but I though I'd ask!
I’m glad that you got to see this one!
@@OrientalPearlwell I hit the bell so I don't miss you and don't accidentally credit fake tiktokers or anything. Thank you for sharing your journey and experiences.
I have been to both Michigan and Chicago before, very similar to NYC, the great part is the cold winters
You’re right. But NYC has a better Chinatown.
@@OrientalPearl
What’s strange is, when I leave NYC for road-trips , hardly do I go to a Chinatown in another state, but I did went to the Chinatown in Chicago though, I am still wondering is there a Chinatown in Metro Detroit area?
Really enjoyed watching this ❤
I’m so glad that you liked it!
So awesome! Looks like you all had such a great time! I love how excited your husband is for new adventures in America. Loved this one❤
He can’t wait to come back again.
Haven't been on YT in a while as I've been studying in Madagascar so I missed トミーさん (still learning! have a ways to go! please excuse poor characters) first visit to America but he looks like he thoroughly enjoyed himself! It's so interesting how foreigners want to move to America when they come to visit & yet American's want to move to foreign lands once they visit. Will be playing catch-up on your videos. So enjoyable & relatable as always.
Welcome back to CZcams. Visit me more. 😊
Great video, fun to see him do some of those classic American things while here.
More to come!
YOu and Tommy are adorable! Congrats on getting over the 1M subscriber mark!!
I'm glad Tommy had such a good time. You have such a nice family! This one made me a bit homesick as I am from Chicago myself! Great video! ✌🏾😊
Tommy really enjoyed Chicago a lot.
Yall hilarious! Love these vlogs with Tommy! Glad Tommy had a good time in my home-town. YAAAAAY 👏👏lulz.
Note: 3:50 yes, Chicago's subway experience has degraded a looot, especially since Covid... Redline is literally the least upkept unfortunately, especially downtown.
Constantly smells like piss >.
I want to make more videos with him. We have a lot of fun.
Omg I was at my first cubs game that day ! It was so exciting I’m glad u guys love Chicago, born and raised !
No way! You were there too?
Tommy hugging your mom was frickin hilarious bc I know how Japanese culture doesn't do much touching.... you gave him the proper experience! 😅

Tommy is too alpha to be a girlfriend lol
my family moved from Japan to the USA Colorado in 2012 and never looked back. i live in Albuquerque New Mexico with my. husband and children and we love the Southwest!
Also feels nice that we can defend ourselves and live on several acres of land outside of Albuquerque.
Just discovered your channel and I moved to Chicago 6 years ago. Cool to see this video! Also, I lived in Germany for 8 years when i was younger and while obviously not the same as living in Asia, there's a universal "I'm from somewhere else and people get delighted when they meet a foreigner" kind of experience. especially because I'm sort of like you where I'm American, but in Germany, of I'm of Asian descent. So people would be SHOCKED that an Asian kid is actually American, but can speak German. haha. Definitely subscribed to your channel!
Thank you for subscribing. I’m glad you found my channel.
Pearl, you are awesome. I dont even know Tommy but teaching him how to fish, taking him to shoot guns, going to the Cubs game.. you have no idea what that feels like for a man to have someone care for him like that and give him these experiences hes never had. So thank you for taking such good care of the guy :)
You guys are adorable ❤ Tommy is braver than I am taking the L!!
We went in a big group lol
I love this video because I live in the suburbs of Chicago. Also I love all of your videos! Keep up the great work! 😁

What a great way to capture your guy's trip! Loved the gun range with your Mom and Tommy's reactions
They are so funny. I love their reactions too.
Hi from the UK I spent the whole video smiling so much 😁
You all were so cute on the boat trip like excitable kids on a school trip lol.
I have been following you for over a year now and look forward to your down to earth style videos. Please dont stop as sometimes feel you are a bit down hearted with how hard it is to get more likes comments subs etc. Keep going your doing great 🌹🌷🌻
Sending love from Michigan to the UK.
Excellent video thanks for sharing.
Lovely fun video guys!
Thank you. I result enjoyed making it.
Fun video! So glad you were able to take Tommy fishing! My Japanese wife never took to fishing, although our son did! 🙂
I'd love to see you guys do an Asian baseball tour sometime. Perhaps take in one game at the home of an iconic team in each of the Japan, Korea and Taiwan Leagues. I would nominate the Yomiuri Giants (Japan), Kia Tigers (Korea), and Rakuten Monkeys (Taiwan). I think you would find differences between each baseball culture, which reflect some of the cultural differences between countries. Certainly I think you will be surprised by the energy levels in the stands - especially Taiwan!
I’m lucky to have my mom here to show him how to fish. I have no idea and I couldn’t have helped.
That’s cool he got to experience shooting some guns! 😎🙌🏽
He did really good too.
Tommy's facial expression after shooting priceless.
I love his expressions too.
These videos are so much fun lol
I had a lot of fun making it too.

You picked excellent activities for Tommy's visit!
Thank you. His visit was short, but I did my best.
As always GREAT VIDEO!!
Aww, I appreciate that.
This vacation video is very fun.
I’m so glad you liked it. I really enjoyed making this one.
You made a lot of effort to show Tommy many US American clichees. He really seems to have enjoyed them.
As fas as I know baseball is quite popular also in Japan.
Luckily Tommy managed to retrieve his passport.
Hopefully we can travel to the west coast next time.
Tommy is so laid back he’s almost permanently horizontal.. in his case it’s a little problematic as it makes him forgetful ..hence losing his passport and Apple Watch … he definitely needs a strong minded leader wife like you in his life to get him through with few issues ..
Nice to see him embrace western culture although I do hope he doesn’t forget his Japanese heritage and values and most importantly his Japanese morals when visiting family and friends in the USA..may I say a very very nice family at that …your mom is adorable …
Great video luv you guy One million coming soon !
My wife and I just found your channel and really enjoy seeing you two in our lovely city of Chicago.
Awesome! Thank you! I hope you subscribed!
@@OrientalPearl yes, we subscribed. The recent videos of you surprising folks in their native language have been entertaining. I’m not sure if you have done any travel tutorial videos, but it might be interesting to hear your take on how to travel to places like Tokyo as Americans without being typically annoying American tourists…or how to find those unique spots that could make the trip extraordinary. My wife and I enjoy photography, so that’s the kind of stuff that would be interesting to see…how to make real connections with people etc. Cheers!
Its so scary to see a range that's not implementing some sort of net guard for spent casings. Amateur shooters having a hot casing land on them can and has been catastrophic.
I've never been to a range that has a net. Is it actually a thing?
At least teach him how to hold the rod with the reel on the bottom
I’ll probably try outdoor shooting next time.
So awesome to see you and Tommy in my hometown of Chicago. I hope you had lots of fun and come see us again soon.
