I just bought a lightly used stock brushed Typhon with full intent of upgrading to 3s. This video helped immensly. Now I know what to buy, and how to go about changing the motor out. Thank you!
Did this to a Senton Mega with trackstar motor/esc combo. Also added steal input driveshaft to rear diff, bearing guide on the 4x4 shaft. I’m using the .8 mod and 32P pinion and it seems to be working fine, checked gears last night and both look good with no wear. Using 19T pinion and 3S lipo, major upgrade in all aspects. Blew a tire from so much power, hindsight should have went with 3S blx to begin with but the upgrade is possible if you are committed to it.
Nice man! Yeah 0.8 mod and 32 pitch are super close to the same measurements. Glads it’s working out for ya. You might eventually need that aluminum motor mount piece if the motor starts flexing
lmao im feeling that so much right now. im doing a Mega > 6s. i got the mega for so cheap i didn't care, but its costing so much to upgrade, i should have just got a new 6s -.- at least its been fun to mess with
oh my gosh what a great video my friend i know this video is a little old but ther is going to be nobody show now better video an explane it the way have great video thank you oh yeah
can you provide a link to the spur gear assembly? I'm tryin to convert mine to but i think i might of ordered the wrong one. the one I ordered is ARA310949
@@theRCelement so it depends which slipper you have, i cant remeber and didnt feel like watching the video again. But mine has like a black plastic piece that snapped into the slipper. And that locks in the bearing. But i could not get it off. I ended up upgrading to the blx slipper. And had to buy a new bearing.
On the mega version... once you remove the pin and the slipper plates come off, you can pull out that black plastic piece with the bearing on it. Then just tap off the bearing. I used a dogbone/crows foot... open ended wrench with a small hammer. But in my opinion the bearing from the mega do not fit the shafts on the upgraded slipper very well.. they got a bit of wiggle.. i would try and find some tighter fitting bearings instead of using the mega ones.. but if thats all you got.. it still works.
Never ever stripped anything using that small driver on the low power setting. I usually have to hand tighten more after using it. Best thing I ever bought to be honest
My comment section is finally back! Over 2 years ago CZcams deleted and disabled all my comments for having my daughters in my videos
Hi can you please give me the information about the motor and the esc combo? :))

Great video, I did this on my own a while back, wish I had known about this, it would have saved me some time.

Nice 😊
Also needed a 5mm pinion, what tooth did you go with? And which motor? Thanks!
Good call lol. I put a 16 tooth on a 2000kv 4s setup
Thank you
what's your motor and esc can u please send me the link on amazon
why can you get the motor and esc from
can you provide a link to the spur gear assembly? I'm tryin to convert mine to but i think i might of ordered the wrong one. the one I ordered is ARA310949
Did that work for you. I have a mega that I converted to brushless and lipo which entirely shredded my spur gear
typhon mega stock motor 2s, i put a 21t pinion.. u think ill burn out motor or grind spur gear?
Not sure 🤔 I doubt it. The motor will get hot for sure
@@theRCelement it over heats and shuts down, switched to 16t
@@XXXPA1NKILLERXXX Gotcha! Yeah those stock ESCs can’t take a whole lot of abuse. At least it has overheat protection. How do you like your Typhon?
How did you get the bearing off the old one??? That things on there good
Mine wasn’t too bad. Did you get it off?

Will that slipper clutch system fit My Vendetta??
I’m pretty sure they are the same, but not positive. The spur gear teeth count are probably different also

Bro.. always torque by hand. Your likely to strip out that plastic with that.

What motor/esc is this?
I ended up putting a Hobbywing 2000kv setup in there
@@theRCelement What made you choose 2000 Kv over something like 3200-3800 Kv? Aiming for torque?
@@204_rc I had it laying around from another buggy, so that’s the only reason. But, it might be too much torque for that transmission
