Congrats Prawn - I'm currently on this journey, as an automotive journalist it can be tricky to film especially with UK weather, but I'm at the point where I pay for all my own car expenses with my channel. Its certainly difficult to make it full time and I'm nowhere near that scale yet, but its success stories like this certainly provide motivation. Thoroughly enjoying your recent content so keep it up!
Thanks for this video man, this truly shows how much hard work goes in the background to get to where you are. Your authenticity and genuineness is great! Keep up the amazing work!

Paying the bills is one of life's realities that you can't avoid, regardless of your income level. A good hard reality check is always essential. Nothing worthwhile in life comes easy. Hard work, self discipline, consistency, self improvement and a good plan before you make any career move are essential if you want to succeed long term at anything. But enjoying what you do as a result is priceless. Glad you made the career move. Keep it up and good luck!
Dear Prawn, You are a very good and courageous person, I envy you. I would have liked to assemble and disassemble computers every day like you do now, when I was 18, I started with a Commodore 64 and then instead worked for 40 years for an electricity company. Now I'm retired and I watch your beautiful videos which are the best on CZcams! Good luck in your new job and give a kiss to your children who will be proud of you one day.
Your videos were the foundation of my pc build. You were the only one who made such detailed and helpful videos about NZXT products. So thank you for that and I wish you all the best. Cheers
Congrats on hitting the big 100k milestone. 6 years and a lot of hard work is paying off. Truly inspirational. And you've only age'd a little ;) I wish I had started doing videos back in the BF2 days.

This was an excellent video. So good to hear a no BS account of how CZcams channels are put together over time, and the sort of revenue people can expect to make 👏 I only came across your channel when I did my first PC build a couple of weeks ago and found it very helpful, I’ll check out your other channels for sure. I wish you luck in the future!
I accidentally bumped into your video while having my breakfast at 7 a.m. As an adult I can understand every responsibility and risk you were considering while making this decision to become a full time youtuber. I wish you the best and only luck in your endeavours!
Gz Prawn, I remember years ago one of your videos made me fall in love with the 011 XL, best case I've ever owned which has just undergone a massive platform upgrade (i9 7900X, 2080ti to i5 13600K 4070ti Super) :D
Sound advice. Too often people watch their favorite creators and think, "that's easy". All I need to do is upload some game clips, or whatever other content, and I'll be making money. Truth be told, that was exactly the mindset I had when I started my own channel. How hard can it be? Let's just say I'm glad I was between jobs at the time because it isn't easy. I decided to make some videos on how to stream with a Mac... because, well, that's what I was doing. Thought I'd share the process and show others how to get up and running if they were using a Mac instead of a Windows-based PC. Well, it wasn't easy. I spent HOURS recording, re-recording, editing, etc. Once I finally had my video, I uploaded it. I figured this was it. I'd be making money in no time. Thought for sure I'd have thousands of views nearly instantly. After all, there are millions of people watching CZcams. It's been 5 years since I published that first video, and to date it only has just over 10,000 views. Now, granted, I ended up putting my CZcams channel aside to focus on my new job. I simply didn't have enough hours in the day for both - and CZcams certainly wasn't going to be paying my bills. I suppose the one benefit I got from it was being prepared to work from home when certain events took place around the world in 2021. Oh, that is another pitfall - thinking "if I just had X piece of technology, that will make my channel better". I bought a good camera, lighting, green screen, a professional audio setup, etc for my fledgling CZcams channel. If my video quality is better, I'll get more views. If my audio quality is better, I'll get more views. If I have the green screen, I'll get more views. So, if anyone has made it this far, my advice is this: you might get lucky and upload some content that instantly makes you a star, just like you might get lucky and win the big lottery prize. However, it is far more likely that you are going to put in a LOT of work and a LOT of time before you reap any reward. So, be prepared to work extremely hard and be prepared for failure and be prepared to learn from those failings and improve. One final thing: have a very thick skin - you're going to need it when the keyboard warriors inevitably land in the comment section.
Prawn, just to put it into perspective, especially since one of your friends is a teacher is perfect for my point. Because if you think about it that’s what you are on here except it’s for tech stuff. Informing many people on different pieces of tech and how they all work. It’s what you enjoy doing and keep grinding. You help so many people.
Would love to see more of your full builds etc. I’m a single dad with full time care of twin 9yr olds. Between work and looking after them. I don’t get much spare time so I like to relax watching your longer videos. Keep up the excellent work and thanks for doing great job.

How about reviewing DACs, headphone amps and other music playing gear, photo and/or vlog gear, smartphones and smartwatches, laptops, tablets, NAS gear, routers, switches and home networking stuff... There is a CZcamsr names ThatMumboJumbo that started CZcams when he was 16 and worked hard at it. He is 28 now and has 9.29M subs. Some things that people don't consider with a YT job vs a traditional job is that you considered self-employed. Good to hear this mate, I'm happy for you as you have worked so hard for this.
