First Impressions of Surakarta, Indonesia (Solo City) 🇮🇩

- In this video I want to share my first impressions of Surakarta, Java, Indonesia. This city is also called SOLO.
Some girls recommended me to go to the Antique Market Pasar Triwindu in Solo, Surakarta. There was a heavy rain while exploring the antique stuff there, so I could spend a bit more time strolling around looking for old (and maybe rare) items.
After that I drank a coffee at a quite unique place. There were also some big tank vehicles driving on the street because of the next day's Chinese New Year including the arrival of Indonesia's President Joko Widodo. Solo (Surakarta) is the hometown of the President Widodo.
It got dark already so I decided to just spend as much time as possible walking around the streets of Solo City and capturing some interesting moments. The following day I continued my trip and went to a Batik Market (Pasar Klewer).

Batik is not only a matter of motive, but a matter of philosophy in it. And have you ever seen how batik was made?
The stages of the process are complicated and need extra patience. The process of making batik is also a way of meditation for the princesses of the palace in the past. Each design & motifs has their own philosophy & deep meanings.
Batik technic only came from Java island. Outside Java, they don't have the batik process, they only know the weaving pand the tie-dyeing process. Even though currently outside Java, they have also started making batik in each province's version

if you really like music you must try visit the Indonesian music museum called Lokananta in solo. There many collections of physical releases as well as music players fot get to know the history of Indonesian music.

Hi Slamet,, Umum means public. For public. Toilet umum / public toilet. Most of them are for free, but some of them you have to pay, approx two thousand Rupiah.
