- Foreigner eats Padang Food for the first time in Yogyakarta, Indonesia: The Name of the place is MASAKAN PADANG DUTA MINANG. I was eating Jengkol as well. Most foreigners (bule) don't like Jengkol or spicy food like Sambal Hijau (Green Chili Sauce). I ordered my Nasi Padang with Terong (Eggplant), Telur (Egg), Tempe and Daun Singkong (Cassava Leave). This is a famous dish that you can find all over Indonesia. It originally comes from Sumatra (Sumatera). And of course was drinking SODA GEMBIRA. After that I went to a famous place to eat ES DOGER BALAI YASA.

Carlos, sorry that those people @ the restaurant or anybody else in that matter explain to you that, in Padang restaurants, they charge by plates. Whether you eat 1 piece/slice-spoon or even just the liquid, you pay for the whole plates. So when you have 5-6 different spoons of different things, it means you pay for 5-6 plates of the different foods.
That's why the cost ended up way more than what you expected.

slsmett you know the original Padang restaurant usually they can bring as many as 20 plates in their hands at a time to the dining table and they are fluent in Padang Most Padang restaurants, they only mix from the Padang area to other provincial areas, married to people from other tribes, the food is usually a bit different 😂👍

The ant comes from the condense milk, its ussually chased by the ants. And the nasi padang is counted by the menu you picked, the more you picked more its cost you
Ya samut go crazy for condensed milk. Good idea if they place the tin (kaleng) of milk in a bowl of water (samut tidak suka berenang 😂)
