Hi Carlos..we are really enjoying watching your vlogs : )..I see not many, if any, have mentioned your comments on Indonesian drivers (bad) habits !..I've lived in Indonesia since 2021 and driven since getting here. Someone really does need to let them know how dangerous some of the things they do on the road are for themselves and other road users...The general 'me me me' attitude drives me mental and here are just a few examples of the other things....pulling out from the side of the road and expecting cars behind to automatically brake to allow them to enter traffic, driving on the wrong side of the road, overtaking on the inside (undertaking), using the hard shoulder on toll roads to undertake other vehicles, overtaking at junctions. overtaking and undertaking into someones braking space, driving slowly in the outside lane on tolls forcing people to undertake them, not giving way to oncoming traffic if they have an obstruction on their side of the road and a million other things that they would have learnt if they had taken driving lessons and a formal driving test. One thing is for sure, my Indonesian wife has definitely learnt some new English expletives :D

Pondok pesantren means students more focus on study about religion(Islam) than general school, and the students live there in the dorm so you can imagine Harry Potter daily yeah hahaha. but also they learn general school in many grades. Elementary school = SD, middle school = SMP as you heard from the guy, and senior high school = SMA. Its nice to have experience there, Carlos

Hi buddy, the green leave on the Nasi Pecel is not cassava leaf but it is spinach. The woman said that. And it is not common to use cassava leaf for pecel. We usually use spinach.
By the way, do not take too much instant noodle. 2 - 3 times a month is still fine. Having too much instant noodle will have bad effect to your digestive system. The worst case it can bring you to gut cancer. Please be reminded!

Been there so many times. Having lived in Yogya in the 90's before moving to Jakarta, i'd say there isnt an inch of Yogya and mid Java that i havent seen.

@@WildCARLOSappeared I like going up the Merapi mountain. There is a great tourist village called Pentingsari where you can learn lots of traditional things. Going by jeep up the old Lava flow is a must. Goa Pindul caves is good too. That's in Bantul. You can go swimming in rubber inner tubes through the caves. There's actually lots to do but cause I've done them all I usually just spend time with family & friends in the villages when i return to Yogya. Oh before i forget, you must try gudek at Yu Djum in jl Kaliurang at the original restaurant. It's in a traditional joglo home. You may need to ask a local how to get there. The service is a bit like Karen's diner but the food is authentic. Kota Gede for silversmiths is also really cool. Ah, there's lots to do in Yogya

I always travel alone. When I find a friend who is traveling to same place is nice but not often.

The Javanese house has become extinct because of the growing times. And you can only find it in ancient Javanese cemeteries. You are quite brave to visit cemeteries. Because many Javanese people are afraid 😂
