- We take a brand new 21 Cummins and layout the factory VGT Turbo against a 67mm FI S400 unit we point out the good , the bad and well the limits! We also touch on compression ratio and firing order why a Twin Scroll charger in our opinion is far superior over a open Scroll!

very well explained video... got me thinking of upgrading now
Thank you sir !! If we can be of any help let us know !
@@POINTBLANKPERFORMANCE what’s the complete price for this upgrade?
@@kapokidkidkapo719 We only do in house builds only sir if you were interested we can provide a email quote . Most 2g swap kits on the market including ours are over 4K sir.
That was cool. Lurned a lot about the 5th generation and why you can put such a big turbo. I have a 2017 6.7 cummins 4th gen. I did a 3rd gen swap. I went with the B.D. Iron Horn with a s300 64.5 Bullet turban wheel and got the pulse manifold with it. It was like putting headers on her. The 64.5 is incredible 😍 👏 for my 4th gen. I still have to do an exhaust break on her yet and head studs too, and Intercooler piping. It is already so much better than stock!!!
I agree with you 100%
I was all in on a bigger turbo until you said lose the exhaust brake! I just can’t.
That's literally top 3 reasons you get the Cummins 😑 probably main reason for me
It's for people that don't ever use the Cummins for working, their bed is spotless and think sidewalls on your tires are pointless.
you can still add an inline exhaust brake which is even better than the factory one
Will a 4th gen compressor housing bolt up to 5th gen? Just bc they sell milled out inlets to run 60,63,67mm wheels
do you get better mpgs?
I have a 2020 ram 2500 about to get some goodies. I have 5 inch exhaust with delete, fass 165 ez-link and s@b cold air intake. What hp and tourqe # do you guys think I can achieve.
I'd guess close to 500, but this comment was a year ago. I assume your at 600 hp by now lol
I gotta have exhaust brake
Do you still recommend the same turbo for the 3500? I believe it has a lower compression ratio to make the 50 more hp. Thank you!
You have a HO?
No sir. No truck at all but I’m trying to get my ducks in a row first. It looks like I’m going that direction…and I don’t like leaving much anything as it was intended by some oem. Aftermarket ftw!
@@dapymp17 If you end up getting personally I like the non HO version !
Got a 465 on a 21 does pretty good
Smart man!!
What manifold did you guys end up using? I have a 21 and I’m feeling froggy 😂
Steed Speed !
@@POINTBLANKPERFORMANCE SO A STEED SPEED 2ND GEN WILL FIT ON A 2020 5TH GEN?
What about the stock transmission, are you guys doing anything to it to be able to handle power from this bigger turbo?
Yes sir upgraded valve body !
@@POINTBLANKPERFORMANCE Thanks for the reply! Will you guys be uploading more videos on this 5th gen ram?
@@MrWhogivesacrap3 Compounds next !
Do they make a billet wheel for 5th gen yet? Or will 4th Gen billet wheel fit??
That we don’t know of yet sir !! We don’t play in the VGT world !
Stainless diesel has a vgt drop in. I think it’s a 63/67. I put one on my 21. These controllers are weird to me ,, as far as tuning
i just wish it could keep the exhaust break
Fleece should have a kit !
Should this be done when the warranty is over?
That would depend on the long term use of the vehicle sir.
Dumb question but what is referred to 2nd gen swap?
No worries ! You take a manifold style from the 2nd gen dodges and use that style on a newer truck . It moves the turbo in the middle of the manifold so you have the front three cylinders feeding one side of the turbo and the back three cylinders feeding the other side of the turbo!
Y’all done anything to the Transmission?
I read somewhere that they 5th gen 68RFE gets a beefed up valve body from the factory. 🤷🏽♂️
We are running higher than factory line pressure sir. The factory valves body’s don’t do well at all with power.
@@POINTBLANKPERFORMANCE got it. Bad ass truck.
@@mendiesel7932 Thank you sir !
How does a system like this run ?
Look for the 700 rwhp 21 cummins video ! We have a dyno run up !
How much does an upgraded like this cost ?
4K to 5k sir !
What specs for the stock turbo? I wanna upgrade but not sure what to get for measurements
I believe I came up with 58mm Check back through when it was on the table I had my calibers out !
@@POINTBLANKPERFORMANCE What would you recommend for specs for the upgrade? I’d wanna do a 64mm but not sure what else
@@JimmieABES What’s your primary use of the truck ?!
@@POINTBLANKPERFORMANCE Mostly daily driving but I haul a 30-ft fifth wheel around 5-10 times per year
@@JimmieABES Then I would do a 67/83 with a 1.0 AR sir
Can I swap turbo’s in my 2022 Ram Cummins diesel ??
Yes sir you can !
@@POINTBLANKPERFORMANCE Want to see how you guys went about tuning them!
Not all turbos are oil feed. There are oil less turbos, they are fairly new but are impressive. I haven’t seen any on a Diesel engine yet but I’m sure someone will try one.
Did you say oil or ole
Earl 🤣
so if you get the HO the turbo won’t be as good
It just will not spool a larger turbo as good ! Still a great truck to make power !
why do we continue to insist on calling fixed geometry turbos fixed vane when there is no vanes?
We refer to the turbine wheel as vanes sir.
@@POINTBLANKPERFORMANCE that’s crazy, it’s almost like the turbine wheel and vanes are two entirely different things…
8:07 cylinders 1 and 5 don't fire at the same time. They are on opposite strokes. So everything you followed that up with is wrong. Also, it's pronounced "oil". Not "ol". Cool video for dumb people though.
Sir I’ve looked back on all your comments to my company channel .. nothing but hate . I’ll leave your comment up on this video to help a more accurate understanding of your comment be understood. Thank you for making my delivery understood to the “ dumb “ viewers that just after 1 fires cylinder 5 is on compression. Thank you for the view Lucas !!
@POINTBLANK PERFORMANCE ya no problem! If you are making instructional or informative videos you should focus on presenting accurate information. Most of it is pretty accurate but some is not. I will continue to point them put for your viewers
@@lwilde0422 Thank you sir and as always thanks for the view!
Here is a good old video that goes into more depth to help better understand twin scrolls and their benefit. czcams.com/video/T7JTRRlSEYI/video.html
@JaegerWrenching ya the PBP guy talking about pulses fighting against each other is false. The point of twin scroll is to reduce volume between the exhaust valve and the exhaust wheel of the turbo. That's all. I think PBP is trying to make its name in diesel world but every video I see showes their inexperience. I would never take my truck to these guys. Ever.
Where can i buy this turbo please let me know
The 467/468 Turbos will be on our website this week sir !
