Physical markers like what Dan describes I think are EXACTLY what VR for productivity should tackle next. I've actually had a fair bit of fun playing around with audio production in "full-dive" VR, and it's spooky how locked-in sitting in a void with literally nothing but a DAW window can allow me to get and stay. Hunting blindly for my mouse or faders is of course the biggest issue, but if I could put little QR stickers on everything and have them render in as something as simple as little floating balls I'd be seriously tempted to try and use it for work more often.
The video auto-played and Dan didn't speak until some point and that's when I looked up, just to be really confused about the way Linus looks.

I wish the use case of secure content was brought up more. This could allow those with highly sensitive data the ability to work truly privately. From a compliance standpoint, this could be a very powerful use case, once they get the weight and other encumbrances down.
I think a better option is to better spread out the weight so it's not all at the front or back. From a matter of comfort what matters the most is that weight is properly distributed so that the headset isn't pressing on your face or the back of your head
About the workspace thing Luke was talking about, there is a program called Dexpot that gives you the option to set up multiple desktops you can switch between(not like the Windows virtual desktops, you can actually have different stuff on your desktop with this). It's pretty neat, but hasn't been updated in a while so things like backgrounds and the like can be a little buggy.

I’d totally edit videos on the apple thingy while on the move, it would open a lot of time for new shoots
as much as I would like to use something like a index and bigscreen beyond my problem is I love air link so hopefully this opens the windows for other vr headsets to be able to do the same

Dan, there are some very good ar glasses with 4kper eye panels, and I use vr for a computer monitor replacement mostly for counterstrike but I also am getting way better and think less about the management of windows for productivity

Yep that's what it is, whenever you 3D map a building you place those on a single or multiple spots aswell to line up the scan with ur digital world
Someday this guys are gonna know about immersed and they're gonna love it, meanwhile I just suffer listening to them complaint about things that already exist

If the OS is open, why would it inherently have the tracking in it? Couldn't you just disable that part? It's not like Android has to phone home to Google--people run it without Google Play services and Google apps all the time.
i believe that the future of VR should be AR integration. it would really open things up and give more options to the user. it would make it feel like it was "worth the price of admission".
being able to switch between the two would make the experience more epic. you can already "passthrough" with many VR systems.
and once AI become more prevalent...look out!

VR is going to be niche (relative to what it's trying to replace) until the form factor shrinks to something that is comfortable to wear for many hours at a time.

seeing how bad other standalone vr os are, this could be a huge win and I guess you will be able to extend somewhat, for example htc could implemnt the new Vive trackers to it like they did in their xr elite already

@@youdontknowme5969 agreed, I really value Luke's opinion and the way he presents it and his laugh, don't get me wrong, I like Linus too but the interruptions every single sentence is driving me crazy. I know they're friends, you can do that off camera, but listening is the first sign of respect.

Meta made UI so terrible, I'll be furious if it becomes "platform" before they fix it. Quick settings opening in a window that closes your main seem almost intentionally infuriating
