UPDATE: The event has ended now and after further testing, all the tricks I mentioned in the video (start the concert anytime, unlock merch, buy stage objects) still work fine. As long as the stage objects don't get removed in the next update, it should still work.

I think Glass Animals shirt is hidden because it came with Snowy Escape, meanwhile Bebe Rexha is a New Mesh and Joy’s is a recolour of a base game mesh. They do probably didn’t add it because of some the backlash they’ve gotten from giving paid for meshes for free later.

It would've been better if they added a trailer backstage so we'll see the performers come out of the trailer rather than from thin air.
I haven't played sims for ages, yesterday I signed in and throught oh that's a nice feature they added. Sad to see it's not a permanent feature cuz it's actually pretty cool.
I hope they keep doing seasonal events like that!

Unpopular opinion but I'm glad it's not permanent. Every festival we have that's permanent players lose appreciation for and usually ignore when the message pops up. Because they did not make this permanent, they have the ability to tweak it, change performers, change merch, maybe have performers who just sing or perform with guitar next time instead of the piano and we will look forward to it returning. The impermanence is what makes people want it more.
@@katy8605 Dude some people like them all, yeah you may not be interested everytime but imagine being able to go to a concert with teens or sims who really like it or making the concert rabbit hole and not rabbit hole so if you want a sim to go but don't want to take them. This is just slobby on EA's part.
Honestly, this was very cool, hope they do it more often. They don't even have to do this with real musicians (though it's cool when they do), making up some fictional ones would be nice as well. I like that.
Imagine if this came with get famous and your sim could host their own festivals at a park

I figured out Dave Bayley's outfit. Most of him isn't basegame, for some reason. His hair is from Cats & Dogs, his glasses are from Vintage Glamour (his freckle might be from Get Famous too, but I'm not sure). His sweater is from Snowy Escape, his jeans are basegame as well as his socks, and his shoes are those basegame Converse-looking sneakers.
This man is a great youtuber and student.

Thanks for proving that they DID indeed fix a few things with this patch update! And so that's what the festival looks like, huh? I doubt I'm going to hit any Sundays in the game when I play next, so I'm unlikely to see it in person, so thanks for showing it off. :)

I agree, and griped about this in my comment too. It's jarring to see English all of a sudden in a game that hasn't had English in it for 21 years. I almost never use CC with English on it either.
I guess I'm in the minority because I don't mind the occasional English text in the game.

I sent a sim to this event last night and it bugged out. I got to see the first two acts, but then when it was time for Bebe Rexha, she appeared, then disappeared, and the option to go on stage afterwards was greyed out because the game thought the performance was still happening. Also I had to fight constantly with my sim to keep him from spending money on the street sales table, and at the food booth. Seriously, I'd cancel one action for him to go buy food, and two more would immediately plop down on top of it, then more and more. I literally could not stop it from happening. sigh
It bothers me that the teeshirts have English text on them too. I wish they'd done them in Simlish. I get that this is both a promotion for these artists as well as Sims 4, but... when virtually NOTHING else in the game is in English (unless it's CC), it's jarring.
Despite the issues, it was a fun diversion for Sims 4, and I really hope it's a toe in the water for releasing a Bands pack. I miss playing gigs in a rock band.

Your update videos are my absolute favourite! You don't miss anything important and I like the before and after comparison. And it's all so nice and chill and not overly excited or complaining all the time.

I have a feeling this update was a hint. To me this was too random to not be a hint of a music pack.
I honestly thought the sim profile not opening was because of a mod interfering. Oh well, at least now it's fixed. Also glad about the highlighted CAS thing, thought it was my cc doing it

So for the most part these festivals are pretty much pointless except for those who know these artist and look forward to their music. Good to know, I am not missing out on anything.

I was kinda thinking something similar like about how in the sims three you had the ability to alongside cheering performers from showtime you could boo at them, throw I think it was tomatoes or something. There was also I believe the feature to request things from the performers though I wouldn’t have expected that to have been added for something that is temporary.
So the new clothes from the festival will remain in game when the event ends? My internet is out atm so I can’t update the game and I doubt it will be back by the 7th… bad timing hey

I really surprised how EA managed to Send Abi a special Package to Indonesia and Abi Receive the special Package from them. Many people doesn't even know this country even existed.

Ah I forgot to mention this! Unfortunately, the cheat interaction to add the performers to household won't appear for some reason. Though I think you can add them through mods like MC Command Center

That looks cool but I had no idea who these people are, so I can't say if they're accurate (like they did in sims superstar) or ea didn't make the effort to make celebrities in sims 4.
I like the idea of this, but I hope they’ll do something with it and it won’t be just another positivity challenge scenario. I hope they either make this into a feature and allow your sims to participate as well, or that they make a showtime pack. We do have celebrities and they certainly are a bit of fun to play thanks to perks, but… it’s quite limited.

Whoa free content
Now there's an issue with the makeup in create a sim. The make up changes color on its own. I click a gorgeous brown matte lipstick and when I try to tweak it to be a darker shade of brown, it turns green. Happens even if I leave the original brown color and exit the make up section. After like 5 seconds it will change color. It's very annoying.
I do hope this will be an quarterly or at least annual thing, with Sims-version of artists performed. I mean, in the past we have Katy Perry expansion pack, her songs etc, Lily Allen, even Nelly for example. Why not a Sims-version of themselves performing a song or two? :D
You know a Showtime pack is coming now! I know they didn't go through all that work to make new animations and FX effects just for this.

I guess my concert glitched because the last peformer did not leave, just walked off stage and talked to me, so i became best friends with her. But now the festival never ends. My sim has been there for 3 days.
( I have a lot of mods so i don't think the is the fault of the sims team, and also i like this glitch)

I tried to add one of the performers to my family with mods but as soon as the concert ended they dissapeared from my contacts. I guess they all just died?

I am unable to find the stage in debug- could someone please confirm whether it is still available?
Same, I can't find it in build mode either. but in the gallery there is a user named ellydarklight, who uploaded a lot containing the Sims Sessions debug items. the debug trick for the stage is still working, Bebe and the others are still showing up. but these objects cannot be cloned with tools, so for now it is not possible to bring items up directly from build mode.

didnt work very well bc i installed a mod that makes romance progression slower...may need to delete thst one

Yeah. I was there all day, and none of the performers appeared. There was a crowd, but no performances, and the crowd dispersed after a while. I was very disappointed. And just had my sims sleep in a tent.

A time based concert for a single player game is a bit much I think. If it was was gonna be around forever I'll be fine with it. But it's not. So I find it stupid
