UPDATE: A recent hotfix update that was just released today has apparently fixed the Zoomer delivery service issue many players who don't own Cottage Living have experienced.
It would have been extra fun if the ponds froze completely during winter and you could skate on them. And for extra gameplay, add a risk of falling in haha. Maybe you could buy ice pegs and train your sim on getting up from a fall.

@@ThePinkRubber that's a little bit too harsh actually, i mean if the skating sims fell into the pond with broken ice surface, there should be at least a small chance of surviving depending on the cold intesity & physical skill. And beside those, the broken part of the ice surface couldn't be skated so it won't affect the entirety of the pond. Also some additional, Sims should be able to make a hole in the freezing pond to fish; and there's a chance to break the entire frozen surface, making it unable to be skated. And a little bit of detail, Penguin would be able to swim into the cold pond and catch a fish in there, or sliding through the frozen surface with a chance of them slipped

The zoomer delivery used Cottage Living's exclusive animation, that's why it didn't work for us. So until they patched or you own Cottage Living, DO NOT use the service. （Edit:Fixed today!! ）

My guess is the game wasn’t making them much money anymore and so they had no choice but to listen to complaints. That or the fact they have competition now (Paralives)

I just bought Discover University and then they are going to release the hair to basegame!!! I feel cheated. Same thing happened with the parenthood beds. I know its just 2 hairstyles from the pack but it somewhat takes away from the value of the pack. especially when the hairstyle was so heavily advertised in the packs trailers and screenshots.
tbf, calender in base game is practically worthless anyway. All my calender shows is Monday-Friday workday Saturday-Sunday vacation day. Its a welcomed addition, but kinda useless.

sims 4 has no hair physics so its just gonna look weird if they added one, it's just gonna stick to the sims's body and/or be stiff when the sim moves their head😵
I think they said before it was quite hard doing all the stuff for it so the hairs are shorter length, I can't remember what video it was but I remember someone was explaining that with the long hairstyle from discover university, but that hair is one of my faves because of how long it is I always loved the longer hairs so I understand you, especially the one from get together that's one of my favorites

I'm genuinely amazed that they added the animal effects with the ponds to basegame and deeply grateful it wasn't locked behind the Cottage Living pack. Kinda sucks that they're taking paid content and sticking it into the basegame, I wonder if they make things in packs knowing they'll eventually be made basegame or if it's something they decide later to try and satisfy players while upsetting as few as possible

I hope they will have a polished texture model and free roam mode like pets and you can choose to allow them go outside the pond or not, and able to feed or play with them as if they're just a pet. Really looking forward for the future pond updates
You can resize them, but it does get a little stale. Would love to have, like, a geology skill pack that comes with a ton of deco rocks and maybe some cave shell pieces. I don't even care if they clone it from Archeology. Actually, any modders wanna get in on this?
They sometimes have a sale where it’s like 80% off but if you still find it expensive you may get a free version the downside is you have to re download each patch
I absolutely love a new cottage living pack, I waited for this theme for years already! And this new update with ponds is great, so much of new staff in here, definitely going to use it often in my game :)
5:00 I don’t know who remembers that one trailer where the the sim wakes up and their house is filled with water? It seems they had been hinting they were going to do this.
It’s generally a good idea to remove your mods folder when you get a new update so it doesn’t corrupt the folder when you launch. new updates could actually break your mods folder so bad that you would have to start it from scratch. Just some friendly advice from itsmeTroi.

@@reading1713 As inconvient as it as for small patches, this is why I like that they automatically disable mods after an update and alert you the game has done so.
If you don't have one already, I recommend making a seperate save file that you only use without mods. This will let you play with new features while waiting for mods to update and gives you a clean file to test mods in (as long as you don't save with them).
I have a gray fox that runs around the house all the time. I renamed him Wretch Hallow. Its a name you have to say all together every time and it grows on you.
Btw abi the sims with higher cooking skills (i forgot what level skill) they can write recipe in a book and any other sims can read it to increase cooking skills too
You see, this is why I like watching your videos -- the fact that you can fill ROOMS with water with the new tool never came up in anything else I've seen/read about these updates! And I like seeing actual comparisons with the new and old versions of the calendar -- it does look a lot nicer these days!

But all backpacks i found in the store always have an uneven size, it's always either too big or too small like there's no between. In the Sims Castaway Stories sims can actually swim in ponds as well as you can customise the water of the ponds with three options water, pond scum and lava and each water type has different effects on sims when they swim however they cannot swim in lava. I was disappointed that changing water types in ponds and pond swimming was not featured in the Sims 2 Bon Voyage as it was featured in Castaway Stories which is a standalone expansion pack for the Sims 2.

I made huge mermaid pools for mermaid shows by making tall walled rooms and filling them with windows all around. I then filled them with water, built platforms and lofts around the pool for social areas, and then made walkways to the pool (using fences to make a cute railing). The mermaids could then climb into the pool from any spot, and swim around
I use a ramp mod to made a smooth entrance into the pool, since they can't climb ladders. The ramps also added a nice gradient that looked very nice with the overall look

I've been someone who's watched for videos for a while now and I just wanna say your English and narration has become amazing there was nothing wrong with your narration before, it's just meant to compliment your English and how much it's changed. very cool
I loved this update, this is some great stuff. But, I’m honestly getting so tired of the Sims Team putting things from packs into the base game. First it was the Parenthood bed, now it’s the University hair (the undercut dreads one). I get it, it’s small, but it annoys me because we’re paying for this content and EA is just being lazy and putting it into the base game. Sorry for the rant.
As someone who found out about legacy edition after buying the university expansion it’s nice to know the game will be cooler when I can upgrade my laptop TwT
15:35 i know this video is a bit old, but i want to point out a small mistake here 😅 you dont have to turn on bb.move objects for the items to be in their "correct" places, its just telling you how to turn it on and off to use for yourself :) also funfact a lot of simmers dont know, the move objects cheats and debug cheats dont require you to enter testingcheatstrue so you dont have to disable trophies to use them!

I'm so impressed by the update, particularly the new water features! :) Finally it feels like the Sims 4 is innovating new things and adding a lot more fun and creative elements instead of just doing the bare minimum with implementing new decorations lol
I lose my shit when i saw the customisable pond and group cooking. ponds with ducks and alligators are cute, and It's nice that we can make friends, couple or family sims cook together. I hope EA give further updates or there are mods that can make interactions in-between the group cooking, like checking on your kid's counter, throw flour at friends, or teasing partner with romantic relationship.

I made huge mermaid pools for mermaid shows by making tall walled rooms and filling them with windows all around. I then filled them with water, built platforms and lofts around the pool for social areas, and then made walkways to the pool (using fences to make a cute railing). The mermaids could then climb into the pool from any spot, and swim around
I use a ramp mod to made a smooth entrance into the pool, since they can't climb ladders. The ramps also added a nice gradient that looked very nice with the overall look
That turtle* on a log was quite the highlight for me

The fact that you can fill rooms with water reminds me of that one cafe that is filled with a little bit of water and fish in it
I really like the textures of the new hair they did an awesome job. I didn't know about focus the camera and lock it wow.

uproot plant is one if my fav new things. finally i can get rid of all the trash bag plants that my sim just left on the ground

She's just a running gag character that's always humiliayed in his videos, especially in onlyabidoang's sims logic series. I think he explained about it in his first QnA video

I loved this update, this is some great stuff. But, I’m honestly getting so tired of the Sims Team putting things from packs into the base game. First it was the Parenthood bed, now it’s the University hair (the undercut dreads one). I get it, it’s small, but it annoys me because we’re paying for this content and EA is just being lazy and putting it into the base game. Sorry for the rant.

15:35 i know this video is a bit old, but i want to point out a small mistake here 😅 you dont have to turn on bb.move objects for the items to be in their "correct" places, its just telling you how to turn it on and off to use for yourself :) also funfact a lot of simmers dont know, the move objects cheats and debug cheats dont require you to enter testingcheatstrue so you dont have to disable trophies to use them!

I'm so impressed by the update, particularly the new water features! :) Finally it feels like the Sims 4 is innovating new things and adding a lot more fun and creative elements instead of just doing the bare minimum with implementing new decorations lol
The new pond tools really open up the possibilities for some fun mermaid homes.

I lose my shit when i saw the customisable pond and group cooking.
ponds with ducks and alligators are cute, and It's nice that we can make friends, couple or family sims cook together.
I hope EA give further updates or there are mods that can make interactions in-between the group cooking, like checking on your kid's counter, throw flour at friends, or teasing partner with romantic relationship.
