Dude, I'm currently using this laptop and I'm _terrified_ of taking it apart to fix it.

What a silly design to keep the cooling system jammed into the laptop.. like its the last thing you can access... very dumb design by dell

Its a common thing with all the Dell G5 5587, I have one right now and both my fans are making that sound. You'll need to replace it.

    Hey, thanks for the video.
My left fan does weird noises when mid or low rpm. I'd like to confirm that fan replacement is possible without full heatsink assembly replacement. I've read that it is not according to service manual that people have read on reddit.

It looks like it IS possible. After the fan screws and connector are removed, you will just have to free the sticky tape holding the bottom part of the fan to the heatsink. You can see they are loose when I pull the heatsink off, it's just tape holding them.

hey man thx for the video, if i want to remove the upperside i mean the keyboardside, do i have to remove some parts like hdd or any screws? Do they hold the upperside or can i just pop it off? some of my keys are not working and i will check if there is a broken pin in that plug or a broken contact or lane in it. Do you got any tips? Great video and have a nice day. -Daniel

@@Daniel_Weiss Dell Seems to have sold defective laptops. I looked it up on several forums and found out the particular model Dell G5 5587 has faulty keyboard especially keys like 2,W,S,X,P,:,?, caps lock stops working. A lot of people reporting the same. Only fix I can see as of now is to replace the keyboard.

Probably one of the worst laptops to own for longer than 1 year. You have no idea just how many issues I've had with this piece of crap for the 4-5 years I've had it.
