  • www.laptopscreen.com. Video tutorial for replacing a broken laptop screen on a Dell G5-5587 p72f002 gaming computer. The screen is 15.6 FHD LED IPS LCD with a 30 pin connector. It is a super easy fix. I couldn't find a tutorial specific to this computer, so, I thought I would make one. I am not a professional IT person, so constructive criticism is welcome. Also, my equipment for making videos is pretty modest, and the movie quality shows, but I think it suffices for what I was doing here. I purchased my replacement screen from laptopscreen.com. The search options for finding the correct screen was easy to use, and the product was delivered on the date promised. Their price for my screen was also slightly better than their competition. I hope it helps someone.

Just got this same screen and colours and contrast seems off. Do you recommend a specific driver or profile for this screen? Also, did you have any issue with the bottom clips where they would cause a wave like effect on the screen? I’ve currently got them not clicked in properly so this doesn’t happen. It’s like a cable is pinching or something

Sorry for the delay. The drivers and settings were the factory defaults. Mine had no issue with color or contrast. There's always a possibility you got a bad screen. No manufacturing process is perfect. I would try customer service where you purchased it. If the wires are pinched at the bottom where they connect to the screen it can cause fitment problems for the plastic frame. I had to take extra care in that area before clipping in the bottom.

I apologize for the late responses. I was unaware the comments were set to "hold for approval". Since I'm not really running a channel per se, I don't really check that stuff. Sorry.

Amazing website and video! is there any such website for regular monitor screens?

Not that I'm aware of. I'm not sure that a regular monitor can be repaired like a laptop can.

Is this screen better in colour than the one that came with with laptop. The new screen seems glossier and a bit more vibrant. It's hard to tell.

You are correct, the computer came with a matte finish screen and I replaced it with a gloss finish screen. I personally believe the color is much better with the gloss screen. However, by using the gloss you give up the anti-glare properties of the matte finish. So, it's kind of a trade-off. The gloss screen has better color and clarity, but you may have to move the computer around to avoid glare from lights. The matte finish is better at resisting glare from lights, but the clarity and color isn't as nice. It really comes down to a personal choice for what you like or what you need.
