Good Evening Emma, I wanted to come back on now that I am 25 days into the process. I must say that this has been the best process for me thus far as I was a Rodan Fields failure. The peeling started for me at Day 3 and I did not have extreme burning or skin irritation like some other users. Everyday I saw new skin and I jumped for joy to shed the damaged skin. My Melasma has improved to minimal hyperpigmentation. For the first time in 10 years I wake up and smile that my face is not 2 shades darker than my chest and sometimes come into bathroom just to look in the mirror. My skin is smooth and glowing and I want everyone to know that we all will have different experiences. The excitement to see the old skin shedding away to reveal fresh tight skin was building each day. My Day Spa charged $850 and I would have paid $1500 for this procedure. I spent over $300 in Makeup over the Holidays to hide my face and now leave the house wishing I could show my face without the Mask. Ladies and even Gentleman, this was a wonderful experience and I was blessed not to have burning and other issues I've read about. I stand by this peel and will do it again if I need to, but with my clear skin, I only see facials in my future.

Im about to go for this treatment. Some people say that after some time (6 months) the patches are turning back and pigmentation starts again. So just to ask did you experience something like this after a year?
Hi, today is my first day after cosmelan 1peel mask, my face is normal, not any redness, or any other type of irritation, hope for good results
I went in to my local laser clinic yesterday because I hate my pigmentation and always thought the solution was laser. The clinician talked me out of laser and I've started the two weeks prep for cosmelan. I'm def getting scared and already thinking 'what have I done'.... I just really have my fingers crossed it will all be worth it! Thanks for sharing your journey lovely.

Love this! I am day 7 and also in excruciating pain- tears- thinking it will not improve and everything on google says it’s meant to be pain free?? Glad someone is in the same boat as me and I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel!
Keep going how is the pain now? I was given another cream when I had mine after about a week to help the healing process I think it was called fast recovery I think I mention it in this video. I know its an additional expense but it did really help me.
Hi. Thank you for your video. I felt like I could relate somewhat. I had the Cosmelan Peel done 5 weeks ago and I went though a horrendous time! Day 2 to Day 5 my face was very swollen where it didn’t even look like me. I was taking anti histamines daily. Day 3/4 the peeling started and my skin was so painful continuously for 2 weeks. I cried a few times regretting having the treatment..
Even washing my face burnt and the stinging was really bad too. I used ice packs all the time aswell as having a fan on my face. The melasma on my cheeks and nose has practically gone but I still have a few troubled areas. I had a breakout so have marks around my jawline and forehead but they are reducing. My skin is still peeling and I’m currently using Cosmelan 2 twice a day. Cannot wait for the peeling, tightness and itching to stop. I started to wear gloves to bed as I left marks on my face from scratching whilst asleep. Even though my pigmentation had 70% cleared, the intense side affects have made me wish I’d never had this treatment! It’s depressing 😢
Oh im so sorry for the side effects you experienced. How far into recovery are you now? The main reason I wanted to make this video is because I felt like the side effects/recovery I had were much harder and more intense than I was led to believe. It does get better I promise just mine took a while and it could have been the fact I wasnt given a skincare routine for a while after after I sought help with another practitioner and after speaking with her I do feel like if I would have had the treatment with her and followed the recommended aftercare I would have recovered quicker.
I feel pregnant shortly after having this so am currently managing my pigmentation with skincare only it has been mentioned if I would like cosmelan again but I am so hesitant.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am on Day 38 today. I’m still red, my face is two shade darker. I have extra marks around my jawline which I now believe are from me rubbing the creams in and also gently rubbing when my was was very itchy. Even whilst typing this my face is sore. I just applied the Fast Skin Repair and it still stings. It’ll be 6 weeks for me on Saturday and I regret the day I started this treatment. 😢

Oh I know I didn’t realise either having read reviews and watched other videos other people have been back to normal within 10 days. I do have very sensitive skin and I haven’t ever had anything this drastic before so it was an eye opener for me but I’m very happy with the results I need to just be consistent and stick to it as I want it to stay this way 🤭 xx

Hi Lora, I am so glad I had it done in the cooler months I know this is a popular treatment in Australia and I don’t know how they deal with it in the heat. Having said that maybe they don’t react as my skin did? I know I did have a lot of redness and also with that the cold weather didn’t help because it’s so cold and we have the central heating on which naturally dries out the skin.

this has been really helpful. I am on day 5, 2 days of cosmelan 2, melan recovery and 130 spf. when i do the cosmelan 2 theres no stinging, but adding the other two layer by layer it reacts to sting and burn. I am giving myself 3 hours break at night before I apply cosmelan 2 as a night cream to give my face a breather. Once I finished washed my face its like someone has used fine sandpaper to get rid of the top layer of my skin, its pink raw and just exposed to the air. i don't like the tint of the spf either but i still use the combo as directed. I will continue to trust the process as I am already seeing dark pigmented spots under the eyes just fade.
Its crazy how much skin comes away with every wash isn't it 🤭 yes definitely stick with it I use a Zo SPF now and I prefer it so much more. Hope you love the results x

Hello, sorry for the delayed response I had a little break over Christmas. How is your skin now? Mine was the same and I think my recovery was longer than average it does get better though and you will love the results i'm sure 😀
@@EmmaJNightingale thanks so much , your video was super helpful! I’m on week 3 now and texture is amazing. I’ve definitely got rid of all my melasma - I’m just still quite red lol. For me it was scary because I’m dark skinned and this peel makes you turn 3 shades darker during the worst part. It’s definitely not for the faint hearted!

Hi I had cosmelan peel 1 on February. I was using Cosmelan 2 until March end and stopped using it for a month to take a break as my skin was burning a lot. I was though using the maintenance product as suggested by my Aesthetician. I was already seeing beautiful results. Last week I had an emergency travel and got tanned a bit even after applying sunscreen. I used home made packs to get rid of sun tan. Unfortunately, that has undone all of the effects I had with Cosmelan 😢. Now I am again applying with Cosmelan 2 as suggested by Aesthetician, I hope my skin gets back better. Do you know if Cosmelan 2 as a stand-alone treatment would work as well to help get rid of tan? I cannot do step 1 application for atleast an year now
I would continue with the cosmelan 2 as directed by the Aesthetician I am sure with continued use you will see those amazing results again 😃
I just received this treatment and am dark skinned, I have watched a few videos and wonder if my melanin will effect my peeling time. I do have the redness and heat on my face and skin does feel tight. I hope for great results and thanks for the video
Thank you for watching! How long ago did you have the initial treatment? The lady who carried out mine said everyones peeling is different I feel like mine went on for a while. What you have described is exactly how my face felt in the first few weeks I even used ice packs to help with the heat! I hope you get great results xx
@@EmmaJNightingale Hello Emma, I had it on Friday and started Cosmelan 2 two days ago. Peeling like a snake shedding skin but no burning from the mask, does it come later with more use? I avoided the neck because I saw your redness.. But I am happy to see the new skin beneath the old layers

Why you used Dermamelan and not Cosmomelan 1? Also is Melan Recovery or hydra-vital factor k better to be used? Thx
As far as I am aware the initial mask was the cosmelan 1 and then my at home skincare is the cosmelan 2. I wouldn't be able to recommend the difference in melan recovery and hydra-vital I personally have never used hydra-vital so I would suggest to speak with the treatment centre administering the facial and they can recommend the best option for your skin.

I'm currently on day 9 into my cosmelan journey.
I was told if I'm working from home and no direct exposure to the sun, I didn't have to use the SPF.
Now I'm worried if I should working on the computer ect.
How long did you carry on using cosemelan 2 cream for?.
Also has your skin maintained gorgeously clear?.

So I had this treatment in January of 2021 and then I found out I was pregnant 5 weeks afterwards and was kind of left in limbo in terms of my skincare afterwards so my results afterwards were amazing but sadly my pigments have returned and after speaking with another therapist its been advised that I have the treatment again 🥲
I would definitely say to wear the spf even inside because I have read that screens etc phones can give off UV and your skin has been stripped back.

I am currently on week 5 of the peel and like you I am pretty fair skinned. Currently, my face is slightly red and very bronzed, as if I had a tan only on my face. It’s very annoying as I can clearly see 2 very different tones on my face and neck. When will this go away?
Oh, by the way, I accidentally applied cosmelan 2 on my neck just like you. It took 2 whole weeks for the redness to subside. Sigh.... and thank you for the very informative video.

I would say I do still have a slight difference in tone to my neck and I’m almost at 4 months since application. I have just gone down to once a day for the cosmelan 2 cream in the past few weeks and I have been able to add in a hyaluronic acid I opted for the one by Environ which my practitioner stocks purely for the price difference but I can now add in another cream I believe I’m going for another consultation this week and I’m planning on uploading another video.
I am still using the sunscreen 130 factor and I really am struggling to get on with it I don’t know if you have the same? I feel like my face looks wet and the tone makes me look so orange 😐
I think once you go down to twice a day get past the week 8 I found that’s when things started to calm down. Having said that I am still peeling most days I cleanse in the AM and put my recovery cream on etc and by lunch my skin is flaking so I’m sure I need to add another product in to help with hydration ❤️

Hello, no I would only wash my face morning and evening so the afternoon application just went on whatever was on my skin. I didnt wear any makeup for a good few months because my skin was just red and flaking for some time 😃

Hey, thank you for the question. I am not a practitioner in treatments so I wouldn't be able to say I just had the treatment carried out and documented it. I would definitely say to go for a consultation and they could talk through the treatments you have had and could then advise if they would recommend you having this again. 😃
Hi Emma..I am on day 3 after taking the mask off. I will now be applying the melan repair fast recovery and spf three times a day. Do I have to also wash my face every time i reapply these products ? Or just wash morning and night ?

@@EmmaJNightingale Thanks for your reply. Skin is feeling really tight n dry at the minute. And it has peeled/flaked a lot mainly round my chin and forehead..not much at all on my cheeks or sides of my face. I am on day 7 today from the start of the whole process.
I try cosmelan2 after 10 days of having a chemical peel for a month, my skin was so red and fragile any tiny little scratch would live a mark, :( I'm supposed to keep using it for my acne scarring but I just did not like how my skin took it.
It is very very intense. I am now into month four post treatment and my skin looks so so much better. The texture is pretty much flawless, I would say I know everyone reacts differently but for me just being persistent was key and I worked through it. Im now using it twice a day Morning / Evening and in another 6 weeks I think I drop to once a day in the evening and I will continue that until I hit the 12 month mark. I am planning on doing another video just updating on my skin currently so it gives an insight into the future of the treatment. ❤️

Hello Emma, I hope you are doing well. I recently had Dermamelan done. Currently on day 7, and my skin turns very red after applying pigment control, which is like cosmelan 2, followed by melan recovery balm. I'm wondering if you stopped or continued with cosmelan 2 when your skin turned red, like how you described your face on fire, where it gets so unbearable. Should I stop or do you have any suggestions?
Hi Lovely, so with my cosmelan 2 for the first month I was instructed to use this 3 times a day and when it was really really sore I did a few days only applying it twice. Do you have any kind of aftercare support from the person who carried out your facial? I only ask as I went back and sent daily pictures to the lady who did mine so she could see what stage I was at and I ended up also using the fast skin repair along with the melan recovery xx

I would ask the person who is doing the treatment for you and also see how your skin recovers after. Even now I am 5 months post application and I haven't worn foundation as I do still have peeling on my chin and around my nose so I find any product I apply just clings to it. It might just be my experience though I know some people recover really well from this 😃

Yes im still using that now to wash my face morning and evening. I have found its worked so well for me so I think I will just continue to use it x

Hey, im not sure im afraid as I am not a therapist myself I just had the treatment done and they avoided the eye area when the mask was applied. I would definitely research clinics near you and speak to a therapist who can advise of treatments available I am sure there will be something available 😃

Yes I checked with the practice where I had this done and she said its absolutely fine. I just popped it in a towel so it wasn't sitting directly on my skin xx

Initially in the first month it lasted about 30 days. It lasts a lot longer now as I only apply it at night so I do get a few months out of a jar

Oh wow I was planning on getting this start of July thinking it’d be all over for a holiday to Ireland and Dubai end of august lol. I didn’t realise it’s such a long term commitment 😱 I don’t know if I can be arsed!! If you could go back would you still have done it?!
Will I be able to use makeup and live a relatively normal life a month later or not really?!
Hey, so this is why I wanted to document this video when I had it done I was told the recovery would be so quick peeling for maximum of 2 weeks so I am not sure if I just have really sensitive skin but the pain in the first week was alot 😫 I would still recommended especially for pigmentation nothing reduced them like this facial did but I would definitely say this treatment is something to be done over the winter months (if you have seasonal months like we do here )

Hi, thank you! So I would say it was a natural peeling process in the initial weeks you are required to use the cosmelan 2 three times a day so when washing my face prior to this I would see alot of the dead skin on the face cloth I used. Hope this helps ☺️

Hi, so initially before the treatment I was given a starter pack and that contained the brightening foam cleanser, brightening peel booster, ultimate whitening essence (its a very intensive serum) and a light water antiaging veil (its a factor 50 sunscreen) ❤️

Hello, I am so pleased for what it did for my skin. The downtime is longer than I thought it would be and it does take alot of upkeep in terms of the products after so I would consider all of this ❤️

Hi, I use it as and when I needed some moisture and relief in my skin. I haven't used it in a a good few weeks now as my skin is healed but in the weeks after the initial mask I would use it a few times a day

Hey, I haven’t done a update yet as I actually fell pregnant during treatment so my results aren’t typical of this treatment. I am currently 18 months post cosmelan and the treatment worked great for my hyperpigmentation but pregnancy hormones have brought back some of them so I am working with skincare only now to reduce those.
The treatment is fab and I would highly recommend just for me the downtime was longer than I thought it would be xx

I'm glad your skin looks amazing, I'm on day 5 my skin is red and sore,there is yellow stuff dripping I'm confused, this treatment is not for the faint hearted. I'm in pain.i did mine at a clinic in London.😢
Oh lovely sending you healing vibes. I promise it does get better with time 😀 Can you call the clinic where you had the treatment done? Just to be on the safe side that the yellow you mentioned is ok I can't remember having that I did have very extreme redness and it was so painful. I ended up going back to my clinic and they then gave me some fast healing cream by the brand who owns the cosmelan facial and this helped so much. Fingers crossed its almost past the painful point for you 🤞🏻

Hi Denise, I have had my moments along the way but I do think it’s worth it nothing and I mean nothing that I have ever used prior to this facial has ever targeted the pigmentation. I can’t use my previous products but I kind of look at it like what I’m using now is working specifically for my skin concerns. I have now been able to add in a hyaluronic acid and it’s made all the difference in my recovery 😁

If you feel like your skin is ready then it should be fine. I was told after my peel it would be ok after 1 week to wear makeup. I didnt feel like I could though for some time as my skin took so long to stop peeling 😃

Hey Emma after application of the cream my skin become so sensitive
what can I do for that and can I apply it in day time also as My doc suggested me to apply it at night time
After having the initial mask treatment my plan was to apply the cosmelan 2 cream three times a day for the first 30 days then for month 2 and 3 I applied it twice a day so AM and PM now I’m in month 4 I only apply it once a day in the PM.
I used the melan recovery cream I still do and I also had the fast skin repair that really helped when my skin was tight and really dry.

Hi there. I had a chemical peel this past Friday, and the skin underneath from the peeling is super red and looks raw. I’m trying not to cry over it. Will it subside?
Hi Lovely, yes it will do it just may take longer than expected. My face looked almost burned and was so sore and swollen this lasted for a few weeks. The redness did subside however my peeling went on for a couple of months. Be patient with it 😃

You are able to use makeup when you are using cosmelan 2 I just found that my skin peeled and was very dry while I was using it 😃
One question… why did you left the mask on your face for 12 hours. By your phototype is recommended only for 8 hours
I believe I had the mask on for 10 hours that was what I was instructed to do by the person who carried out the treatment on me 😃

I started the cosmelan 2 I’m pretty sure on day 3 after the initial mask and I used it 3 x a day for 30 days (there were a few days when I only applied twice in this 30 day period as my skin did get so sore) I’m now using the cosmelan 2 twice a day and on month 4 I drop to once a day 😊

I would definitely try and stay as protected from the sun as much as possible in the first few weeks. I had mine done in winter so didn't really have the heat issue but my skin took so long to recover I personally wouldn't have been able to stand heat on my skin. I would just check with the person who is carrying out the treatment regarding the gym I think it was the first 48 hours to avoid it but my memory of it is slightly vague now as its two years ago since I had this done 😀

@@EmmaJNightingale I found that some of the mask cracked and did dry out I didn’t spritz my face yesterday as I’m doing treatment at home by myself The instructions in the pack didn’t say to spritz face and keep the mask moist either. I’m wondering now if I’ve not got the result I was hoping for - my face isn’t red or tight feeling either. I washed off the mask last night after 10 hours - some had cracked and fallen off after 5 hours - is this how it’s supposed to be ?

I’m 5 days in. 🥺I’m raw around my mouth. Very dry n wrinkly. It hurts!! Is the raw part around my mouth that’s looks n feels like I’m cracking normal???
OH I remember the early days it would hurt to open your mouth too wide as it would crack the skin. Just keep on top of your recovery creams, did you get the fast skin repair I think it was called?
Just had mine done but I had a little accident..a little bit did fall of in my forehead I got to spots where my own skin is seen I have 7 hours left before I will wash it all off..
How did the mask go for the rest of the time? Hope you are recovering well with it

@@EmmaJNightingale Had it on for 11 hours had no visible flaking really the skin just looked very clean right after,and in the days after now I use cosmelan2 their moisturizer,and sunscreen daily not sure it will last all 8 weeks....it have a brownish teint I use less cosmelan 2 in the day,and a little more by night..
It's now been 2 years. For how many months did you continue to use the cosmelan 2? Are you happy with the results? Did the melasma come back?
I have tried some topicals and they haven't worked and I decided that I should save my time and money and just get the Cosmelan.
I used Cosmelan 2 for approximately 9 months after. My melasma did return because I had another baby so I am now on a skincare routine to help target these areas 😀
Did you go through the pre treatment weeks before?
Yes so I did the month before it could have been 6 weeks the skin care prep leading up to the mask being put on
Lighting was too dark on day seven - seems an ordeal the peel
The recovery was a lot harder than I thought but the results are very good and I haven't had results previous from any skincare use ☺️

Hello, how are you getting on now is it still as painful? If it is I would suggest speaking with the person or clinic who carried out the procedure as they may be able to add in a recovery cream this is what I had and I did find it helped ease the pain and redness 😃

I'm not sure I think I ready somewhere that dark spots on the chest area have been treated but you would have to check with a professional who provides this 😃

Yes I did I had to prep for 1 month prior to having the mask applied. As far as I’m aware when you have this treatment done you should be given a starter pack which contains everything you need to prep

Do you have the after care creams? I was advised to use the fast skin repair (not sure if thats the exact name) I would definitely speak to the clinic that did the procedure as they will have creams to help with recovery. Hope it eases soon 🙂

Is your whole pigmentation gone? How are you feeling now ?
It’s 90% gone I do have a very faint few patches which I’m told is why you continue the cosmelan 2 cream for the full 12 months.
My skin is doing so much better I do still have peeling and redness and I have to be so careful now summer is on the way but now I’m down to using once a day I can add in more products to help with moisture ☺️

My skin absorbed the brown color of the cosmelan cream. It doesn’t get off. My skin is also burned. I use the cosmelan 2

@@EmmaJNightingale only the cream. I have second degree burning which is fading now with special burning cream . And the brown color is the cream that’s been absorbed in the skin is fading away slightly

It’s for covid she had it made it provides purified air I believe into it. I’m so used to it now 😂 we had such high numbers here in the uk so she has done everything possible to keep herself and her clients safe ❤️

The treatment was £800 and then the creams monthly are on top of that the cosmelan 2 jars which now last me a few months are approx £100 🤍
Nice it’s working for you luckily I haven’t had skin problems for years because I changed to unperfumed soap the perfume soap didn’t agree with my skin
