Speaking of pro-shots. Has anyone else noticed that Six is shut for a week at the end of June, the week after the original cast reunite for the Hampton Court shows? Could a Six pro-shot actually be happening?
Being in America and not knowing when, if ever, this show will appear on stages over here again, I’m ecstatic to hear that there is going to be a proshot. I 100% would love to see Jamie reprise his role as JD because he did such a scary good job. I’m so excited for this. 😍
I do think the Heathers team is BEYOND aware of how viral Jamie Muscato's performance as JD is, and how much the fans want to see him return to the role, so I think if he's not JD in the pro-shot, it certainly won't be for lack of trying. Jamie's moved into the position of the definitive JD at this point. I can also see them keeping Simon Gordon in the role, given the general excitement for his return in March. That said, I think Ailsa is likely to be in her role for the pro-shot and already comes across as a quite young Veronica for Simon's JD onstage, while Jamie, while being older, does play JD generally younger than Simon does. (Being older, he would also help balance things if they decide to immortalise Jodie Steele's Heather Chandler.) I will say the fact that it's pretty much guaranteed not to be Christina Bennington (moved to New York) and Jordan Luke Gage (starring in Bonnie & Clyde) reprising their 2021 Haymarket roles breaks my heart a tad - they were fantastic, the camera loves them both, and their electric chemistry I think would carry a pro-shot very well.
You mentioned how Legally Blonde and Heathers had more successful runs in London and how one show lead to the other, but you missed the connection that they were both composed by Laurence O’Keefe!

Carrie can't pull it off anymore. Her voice got wrecked during the show. They won't be able to do it full out, and not to mention they had to transpose some songs down for her because she couldn't hit the notes. She's nearly 30, and wayyyyyyy too old to be playing a 17 year old.

Back in 2007, Legally Blonde is what got me back into theatre after having been the worlds biggest Annie fan as a child. I was home sick one day and there was a video on YT that said "Legally Blonde The Musical" and I was like oh sure I'm sure it is a parody or something. It became my obsession. I wouldn't say it is still my favorite show by any means but it holds a special place in my heart.
Shows for younger audience take off more in the UK because the tickets are significantly cheaper. The most expensive ticket for Six on the West End is 32GBP (40USD) than the cheapest ticket for Six on Broadway, after you include processing fees for both of them. It's only 22GBP (28USD) if you somehow can get them without ticket handling fees.
I love love love pro shots!!! Makes theatre so much more accessible to the masses. And (for me anyway) they really don't take away from the live performances because you can't beat the live atmosphere. Nobody ever talks about the orchestra, I’d like a fuller orchestra. For example, I’d like two-three keyboards, two guitars, a trombone, two trumpet, another Reed player, and a violin added to the show

Well now that Cinderella is being cut short, Carrie may be letting Georgina (her alternate) or other people like Lauren Burns cover her for those two weeks whilst she does the pro shot for Heathers!? Obviously we dont actually know that, but I do hope so!!
I hope so, but Carrie said that she’s workshopping a show and she’s also doing her book tour (which I’m not sure if that’s still going on) and I think if Cinderella’s closing they’re going to want her to do as many performances as possible.

I know everyone understandably adoreees jodie steele, but i think most of the people underestimate Maddison Firths Chandler - shes a mythic bitch, she does an amazing job, and id think it would be kind of unfair for the current cast if theyd just replace some of them with actors that previously played the role.

The worry I would have about using a Veronica and JD who don't know each other is that they might not have enough time to build that chemistry that's really needed in those roles. As much as I would like to see Jamie as JD and Ailsa as veronica its a short time to get to know each other. (Carrie is the dream Veronica but Cinderella doesn't close till after filming so its not very likely they will get her).
It's essentially a good point, but theatre actors are quite skilled at building chemistry in a matter of days or even hours because of the nature of their work. Jamie, for example, was opposite Olivia Moore for one or two shows total in the original London run, and their chemistry was great. Ailsa has played opposite, what, 5 or 6 different JDs now in the current West End run? So, it's for sure a concern, but I don't see it surfacing as an actual problem.
Personally adore Madison Firth and love that she's a *slightly* more plus size Heather Chandler, would love to see her performance saved in film! I saw the UK tour and loved every one of them, Veronica and Heather Mac were also stand outs for me

When i saw Heathers Olivia was playing Veronica, she was good. Id love to see Elisa or Carrie play Veronica. Would love Jodie and Sophie to be filmed Sophie singing lifeboat. I guess im probably abit biased on who i saw when i went with my mum n it being the first westend show ive been to. Im just happy that more shows are being filmed for those of us who for one reason or another struggle to get to the theatre (or more than one ( seating being one reason and the number of disability seating especially if you don't use a wheelchair but require a separate seat - which I can say the theatre were able to sort for me, after i emailed etc)
I hope these pro shots actually get released,, I was at the filming of Lazarus and it has only had limited online screeningswhich we had to wait years for... we need DVDS etc..

Proshot! FINALLY! As someone who has been an avid fan of the Heathers movie & musical since its offbroadway days, this is HUGE! Though I don't really like the changes that have been made since its transfer, the fact that it became a hit in the West End is a testament to the potential all of us fans saw in it despite its initial closing.
I became a fan of Heathers when two classmates performed "Seventeen" at a school concert. Since then I've become more familiar with the off-Broadway cast. (Ryan McCartan is my JD) What was very exciting was when there was a small local production (in Aus) I go to see. My brother's friend was in the ensemble as that one creepy kid, so I will cast him.
I would LOVE if Barrett Wilbert Weed were in it somehow, Ryan McCartan too. It would just be so exciting to see them in the film. I also would love to see Jamie Muscato come back to play JD
Heathers is and has been hugely popular with American theater kids and teens into the alternative scene in general. The problem is that it never caught on with the people with the corporate funding. It’s a fan favorite but they just never caught on with the executives. If they gave it a genuine on-broadway run now in New York I’m sure it would be a runaway success if they gave it the chance

I don’t think she’s workshopping Heathers tbh, they have not started rehearsals/filming for that, they will star next week. I love Carrie and I loved her as Veronica, however I hope they will be using the current cast and Ailsa as Veronica.
I think she’s workshopping something new. She mentionned that one of the songs she rehearsed was new material and could become her favourite song from a musical ever.
I’d love to see Jordan back as JD, but doubt that will happen, so my next pick would be Jacob. I hope they keep teleri as Mac. I’d love to see Jodie as Chandler, but am slightly concerned that she looks older than the rest of the cast. But if they don’t have George and Tom as Kurt and Ram I honestly think I will cry. They have most definitely been the best Kurt and Ram ever, and their chemistry is amazing.

I had tickets for 14 May and was emailed to say that the show had been cancelled due to filming. I got to rebook for no charge but would have loved to be there for the filming. Carrie and Jamie will always be Veronica and JD for me. Would love to see them in the pro shot.
I don't get this why if there is already a performance booked for that day with audience who already has tickets why do they not just film with the audience of the day??

PLEASE do a video about Legally Blonde and how iconic it is!!! Elle is such a high-energy and challenging role but I feel like the whole musical often gets written off for being "silly" or "girly" etc.
Proshots are no live recordings, theyre usually filming scenes several times, with and without audience and cut together a version from all that material to guarantee the best possible outcome
I would love Jodie Steele to be Heather Chandler, and to bring comparably aged-looking people to play against her, my dream would involve grabbing Barrett and Ryan from the NY cast. That's not gonna happen obviously but since we're doing dream casting 😂
Heathers has a HUGE cult fan following, kinda shocked it didn’t go to Broadway. But I wonder how much of this might have to do with everything being so much closer in the UK. If a bunch of teenage theatre fans from Ohio are obsessed with Heathers, it’s not like they can splurge to take a one day train trip to see it. They would need to either drive for 3 days or buy a flight to the most expensive city in the country and try to stay for a night somewhere.

When i saw Heathers Olivia was playing Veronica, she was good. Id love to see Elisa or Carrie play Veronica.

I guess im probably abit biased on who i saw when i went with my mum n it being the first westend show ive been to.
Im just happy that more shows are being filmed for those of us who for one reason or another struggle to get to the theatre (or more than one ( seating being one reason and the number of disability seating especially if you don't use a wheelchair but require a separate seat - which I can say the theatre were able to sort for me, after i emailed etc)
I hope these pro shots actually get released,, I was at the filming of Lazarus and it has only had limited online screeningswhich we had to wait years for... we need DVDS etc..
My understanding is that Aladdin had two cast members who had already performed their roles in Australia - Ainsley Melham as Aladdin (who later went to Broadway) and Robert Tripolino as Omar.

As someone who has been an avid fan of the Heathers movie & musical since its offbroadway days, this is HUGE! Though I don't really like the changes that have been made since its transfer, the fact that it became a hit in the West End is a testament to the potential all of us fans saw in it despite its initial closing.
I became a fan of Heathers when two classmates performed "Seventeen" at a school concert.
Since then I've become more familiar with the off-Broadway cast. (Ryan McCartan is my JD)
What was very exciting was when there was a small local production (in Aus) I go to see. My brother's friend was in the ensemble as that one creepy kid, so I will cast him.

Heathers is and has been hugely popular with American theater kids and teens into the alternative scene in general. The problem is that it never caught on with the people with the corporate funding. It’s a fan favorite but they just never caught on with the executives. If they gave it a genuine on-broadway run now in New York I’m sure it would be a runaway success if they gave it the chance

I don’t think she’s workshopping Heathers tbh, they have not started rehearsals/filming for that, they will star next week. I love Carrie and I loved her as Veronica, however I hope they will be using the current cast and Ailsa as Veronica.
I think she’s workshopping something new. She mentionned that one of the songs she rehearsed was new material and could become her favourite song from a musical ever.
I’d love to see Jordan back as JD, but doubt that will happen, so my next pick would be Jacob. I hope they keep teleri as Mac. I’d love to see Jodie as Chandler, but am slightly concerned that she looks older than the rest of the cast. But if they don’t have George and Tom as Kurt and Ram I honestly think I will cry. They have most definitely been the best Kurt and Ram ever, and their chemistry is amazing.

I would love to see the original cast because I feel all of them fit the roles perfectly and Jamie and Carrie felt like perfect matches for jd and Veronica although i dont know what the availability would be of most the original cast

I had tickets for 14 May and was emailed to say that the show had been cancelled due to filming. I got to rebook for no charge but would have loved to be there for the filming.
Carrie and Jamie will always be Veronica and JD for me. Would love to see them in the pro shot.
I don't get this why if there is already a performance booked for that day with audience who already has tickets why do they not just film with the audience of the day??

I came across on TikTok a girl that nobody knows announce that she’s going to play heather chandler for the pro shoot.
I'm all for every musical getting pro shots. 1. Not everyone can afford to see these musicals 2. the stage musicals are often better than movies.

PLEASE do a video about Legally Blonde and how iconic it is!!! Elle is such a high-energy and challenging role but I feel like the whole musical often gets written off for being "silly" or "girly" etc.

Proshots are no live recordings, theyre usually filming scenes several times, with and without audience and cut together a version from all that material to guarantee the best possible outcome

I just don't love Lizzie as Martha (love her in general though) and Jodie owns her role.
I would love Jodie Steele to be Heather Chandler, and to bring comparably aged-looking people to play against her, my dream would involve grabbing Barrett and Ryan from the NY cast. That's not gonna happen obviously but since we're doing dream casting 😂
Heathers has a HUGE cult fan following, kinda shocked it didn’t go to Broadway. But I wonder how much of this might have to do with everything being so much closer in the UK. If a bunch of teenage theatre fans from Ohio are obsessed with Heathers, it’s not like they can splurge to take a one day train trip to see it. They would need to either drive for 3 days or buy a flight to the most expensive city in the country and try to stay for a night somewhere.
I will never get over Barett Wilbert Weed as Veronica. Love Carrie (have been watching her on you tube since before she even auditioned for Les Mis) but Barett just IS Veronica (and y’all are not as good at American accents as you think haha)
Just get Chris Pratt to play all the Heathers.
