Many others use the cvt for fuel savings.nissan sells a whole lot of cars.i have hade over 20 new nissans and never any issues.
Its mind boggling upto now Nissan can't understand the buying public hates that CVT. No matter how good this car is, it will not sell that much. Just abandon the CVT and slap a regular AT .
nissan needs to satisfy emissions and fuel economy regulations. CVT is more efficient for cheap.

What is the MPG?
With Kia killing off the soul and replacing it with the seltos, here is where Nissan should release quirky, playful colors like that purple. It's not for everyone, but I believe it will sell to the younger crowd that would of went for the soul.
Unfortunately CVTs are getting more and more common with many manufacturers so Nissan will stick with them on most models and hopefully they prove more reliable now as it’s been hard for Nissan to recover from their past CVT disasters…this vehicle is very attractive but it needs more than 140 HP…it’s gonna be slow. Needs the 180 HP 2.5 liter as an optional engine. And I do wish it had a 9 speed transmission which would get comparable gas mileage as the CVT without the stigma of the CVT
