No down shifts on a funny car. The horsepower and torque is such that a normal gearbox would destroy itself. Instead they use clutch packs that weld together via friction to drive the car. This also means that each transmission is only good for one run down the strip, but the transmissions are built to have the guts ripped out and replaced in the time it takes in the pits to get ready for another run.

I put it in the 1/4 mile calculator had it at 251.347mph and 1/4 5.70102. I had to guess on HP and Body weight but since I had the final time it shouldn’t differentiate the MPH by much, unless it was a motorcycle.

@chuckvizzle930 there's often a clasp at the end of the tether where it attaches to the car. The parachutes let go so fast I would guess they forgot to reattach the tether after folding the chutes 😂
