The Milwaukee bucks are in a strange situation with jersey retirements. 34 and 22 are both Ray Allen and Michael Redds' numbers and Giannis and Middletons' numbers. Both pairs of players have cases for jersey retirements but it's gotta go to Giannis and Middleton at this point.

Anthony Morrow got traded from OKC to Chicago and when he got there, he wore #1. Derrick Rose's number but during his first game, the fans booed him and let him know that they weren't happy about so he changed his number after that game and apologized to the fans.

These are definitely high level players but the bar for a jersey retirement is set very high. Not sure how long you've been following NBA but by your standard there could have been tons of players in the history to have their jersey retired.

Ray Allen will always be remembered as a Celts and Heat player anyway so why would the Bucks hold his number? He hasn't done anything to the franchise besides staying there for 9 years. He might have led them to the ECF one time but that accomplishment ain't deserving to be out on the rafter. If that's your standard, then everyone who stays that long and hasn't accomplished anything significant would be qualified.

Well here's my take on Jordan's 45:
First and foremost, 45 was not MJ's number. He knew it, we knew it, everyone knew it. His number was 23. He only had 45 BECAUSE 23 was already retired, and either they didn't want to go through the process of unretiring it, or they were waiting for the process to unfold, or...whatever. But it was Jordan himself who wanted to switch back to 23 because 45 just wasn't his number.
As far as accomplishments...I don't think the issue is that he didn't accomplish enough. I suppose I would say he didn't--NO ONE can accomplish enough in 22 games to have their jersey retired--but that isn't the issue. The issue is it wasn't his number. 45 is just a placeholder. Kobe has 2 numbers retired because he spent a substantial part of his stellar career wearing both numbers. It's a totally different situation.
For the Miami Heat to retire the number of someone who never even played for them makes absolutely no sense. The Heat should un-retire 23. MJ was a Chicago Bull, period. Only the Bulls should have his jersey hanging in the rafters, and no other team should. (yeah, he was still a great player in Washington. But not a jersey-retiring sort of great.)
I don't hear MJ crying about 45. He's a dude who takes things personally, right? If it were a problem, I'm sure he would say something. No one cares about 45, not even MJ. Let it go.
