I don't understand how Swerve is a Face when he broke into someone's House and terrorized an infant. He's done nothing to prove he's a Babyface other than getting a positive response because that Fanbase cheers anyone and anything.
AEW Fans are jerks when it comes to Babyfaces, they even hated Cody when he was there.

Swerve got over for being a goblin, a ruthless leader of a pack, with a menacing, sadistic glare and penchant for violence. They cut the balls off that character by having him talk about being there for his daughter like he's Becky Lynch, so when Cage attacks it makes sense. Unbelievable.

Best part of thing was how AEW allowed a camera shot of Nick Wayne's mom having a face to face with Swerve. She towered over Swerve just what your world champ needs a stare down with someones mom who looks a foot taller than him.
Last year, NXT did a North American open challenge angle where all the contenders were fighting backstage to accept the challenge. The first man that got in the ring, ended up getting the shot.
They did that multiple times and even did it with Dragunov before he left for a non title match and it got over 19 years old Je'Von Evans while still making Drag look great. It's so simple
@romegrey2600 I remember watching that live on TV, dozens of wrestlers fighting each other to get in the ring to face Dragunov, and the Evans kid was the 1st one in there and he and Dragunov had a really solid match.
Nxt start's off with 560,000 viewers then ends with 720,000 for the main event. Because they can grow and develop stars better

The AEW belt is cursed, Jericho was the firat champion, went from a big star to a big joke, plumber Moxley, rehab and turning to a slob, Omega, gut issues, Page was part of the self destruction of AEW, Punk got hurt and then fought his way out of the company (literally) MJF, hurt and damaged his fame, Swerve, booked like a joke. Joe is safe but who knows how long.
No wonder Cody lost that match that prevented him from ever competting for the AEW belt
Jericho can do whatever he wants, Moxley is one of their biggest stars, Omega's recent medical issues are unfortunate, Page is an idiot, Punk is injury prone, MJF is in the wrong company, and Swerve is mid.. that damn belt isn't cursed, y'all just come up with anything

The world title seems so midcard in AEW. Swerve was barely established as a single, hes won nothing. Beat no big "stars" on the way to the belt other than Hangman . He was in a feud with Keith Lee forever. Which still wasn't resolved! What is the point in the midcard titles if you don't win those and then move into the main event after establishing yourself

Like every title in AEW, unless it's being held by the Elite, Pockets, or Jericho they make it feel worthless. The Trios titles didn't matter after the Elite lost them. Now Swerve is an after thought and already getting beaten down 3v1
It never got established and I mean it's cliche but I think they were originally planning the NWA discard and replace that WCW, ECW, and TNA did and then that got sidetracked and highjacked by someone that thought they knew better.

Was happy to see Strickland with the strap. Decided to give AEW yet another chance. Then they buried him right away, and I was "done" in less than 5 minutes.
In 2 weeks AEW has completely buried one of their hottest stars who also happens to be the World Champion. First, they embarrassed Swerve by not having him have a celebration on Dynimate 2 weeks ago, instead making him go 20 minutes with Kyle Fletcher who kicked out the Swerve Stomp. Then you put his "celebrate" on Collision/Rampage which lost 500k viewers because of the NBA lead-in. Now he's getting beaten down 3v1 against Christian and his faction? Besides this fact Swerve is the "First Black AEW World Champion" he has been treated like a clown. We all know he's only champion they give it to OceanSpreay. AEW would never have treated, JeriBloat, Moxley, Omega, MJF, or even Hangma'am with this much disrespect. Also where the fuck was the Mogul Embassy? You know Swerve and Nana's faction? I mean Roid Raid Cage was on the show? Was he too busy, pumping himself up to help?

As crazy as it sounds, Jim Cornette is unfortunately correct. I am an AEW fan, but the creative at TNA Wrestling has booked Moose better as the current TNA World Champion, than AEW has booked Swerve Strickland.
One good thing AEW has done with Swerve Strickland is that Swerve has not jobbed out and is still the AEW World Champion.

What I don’t understand is this. Granted, I don’t know what conversations take place behind closed doors, but one might expect this from the Young Bucks because they spent the bulk of their career on the independent circuit, but Christian was a champion several times over in reputable companies. You’d think he’d use his clout to say, “Hey, Tony, we can’t do the angle this way because it’ll bury Swerve.”

I like how you could wrestle 10 or 20 minute matches and do all your your finishers plus your opponents on each other and kicking out every second but one move lays you out for 3 minutes LOL. And you're pretty fresh. Didn't wrestle for 20 minutes but that one move takes you out for 3 minutes LOL. Obviously it was on top of a belt but every single aew match. You have to do your move 10 times just to get a victory. It's okay once in awhile but every single match? It gets a little boring
Brian Jim and Eric are right. They don't know what to do with babyfaces in AEW.
Since the AEW audience despises babyfaces to the high heavens they always eventually bury their standout faces, instead of knowing that the standout faces are supposed to beat the standout heels eventually. After hearing this I am starting to believe that this is the EXACT reason why Cody left AEW when he did, not just because of the drama or the money but he personally saw and knew that AEW couldn't properly promote and grow their babyfaces correctly, so he left because of this very thing keeping this information to himself.
Everyone in AEW can't be a full bad heel or antihero type of heel, the best faces are supposed to beat your best heels and, vice versa to have balance in the promotion.
If you listen to AEW Unrestricted (and why would you) you can hear Will Washington brag about how great his writing for Swerve is, and how he's always worries about how he's going to top himself, but always does. It's on the Ospreay interview episode, if you're looking for some cringekino. Will (Washington) and Aubrey start out by saying what they're thankful for, and they both say their friendship with Tony Khan is what they're most thankful for (no joke).
Not surprising to see them struggling to get 5k views on Unrestricted while RJ is doing pretty well for himself with HeyEW (50k to 100k most weeks).

Watching old favorites join AEW is a lot like watching your grandma go to the home, which is sad, but you tell yourself she’ll be happier there. On your (rare) visits, she always looks more addled, confused, and lost than on your last visit. And it’s not sad, it’s downright depressing, so you eventually stop visiting.

I met people at Dynasty and the fans buy every PPv and It was surprising to me , it gave me a better understanding of the product.
