    So I wanna add to Brian’s point about thumbtacks. Years ago, when Jericho and Moxley were still in WWE and Moxley was still Dean Ambrose, they faced each other in an Ambrose Asylum Match (a Steel Cage with items hanging from the top). The match was bad, but with a bright spot. One of the objects hanging from the top of the cage was a bag of thumbtacks. And the people watching popped HARD when they appeared. They also popped hard when Jericho landed on them. Do you know why they popped, and why that was the only good part of the match? Because NOBODY used thumbtacks in WWE since forever, probably since the Ruthless Aggression Era. That absence made the thumbtacks special, like it may be the only time you will watch that spot in WWE’s modern era.
    If thumbtacks were used every month in WWE, that spot in the match wouldn’t have been as special as it was aka what happened to thumbtacks in AEW.

Not that you can't get impressive moments, but I'm pretty much done with them. I feel that way about a lot of gimmick matches, they're all so tired and played out - unless someone comes out with a baseball bat to a last man standing match and in the opening minute breaks the opponents legs and wins the match, just to show people how to use a weapon properly... Claudio looked like a star and completely out of place in this dumpster fire of a match. The only blessing was Bryan Danielson wasn't involved to get hurt again. Sammy botched his way through this match the moment it started, he also got the honor/dishonor of eating the big and obvious crashpad spot, at least they hid the cardboard this time. I feel really bad for Santana and Ortiz, they have accomplished nothing in AEW, they've been Jericho's jobbers and now had to job to Jericho. Plus the fact there are rumors the team doesn't even talk and Santana got injured. Moxley wasn't the first to bleed which was amazing. Daniel Garcia was there as he always was. The two biggest embarrassments were Jericho and Kingston, who managed to fuck up several spots, forget "key items" for this dumpster fire and just look horrible. They stalled for 10 mins on top of the latter because apparently, Kingston forgot the blade, and Kingston even appeared to have pulled something or injured himself. The worst part is, that Kingston didn't make Jericho tap makes me worried this feud is not over. More embarrassing is this whole show managed to pull a million in the ratings for AEW, for the first time in like 4 months.

Evolution has never been observed anywhere nor has any transitional form ever been presented that wasn't later proven to be a fraud. We can see bacteria have tens of thousands of life cycles in less than a week but they never change or "evolve" into anything other than what they were. If evolution is not observable there then it can be extrapolated that it is not happening anywhere. Unless you are suggesting it happens randomly amongst random species and at random times. You still have the problem of never observing it happening anywhere to deal with that possible scenario as well. The movie definitely touches on an overarching narrative of nonsensical space travel. It also has black obelisks which are direct references to the severed phallus of osiris in case you were wondering. It's a technically impressive movie but it's complete horse shit in every other sense. It was made to push the idea that living men and women are apes and that a tuna can can go into an infinite vacuum and not be crushed.

    100% agree with everything you said. The Jericho appreciation society needs scrapping, the whole concept is lame. Jericho shows zero passion anymore and brings nothing new to the table just ridiculous ideas. Eddie Kingston is way over rated and sloppy. The obvious blading and poor elbow strikes from moxley was a joke. Really disappointed with AEW right now. Zero communication, no one had a clue what to do. Claudio was the only highlight in the match. The big swing got the thumbs up. But the rest was weak.

  • @keithyw
    @keithyw Před rokem +3

    I thought that the match more or less started off decent. Once Parker came in with his intimidated look and trying to escape, the match just fell apart instantly for me. Sure, Moxley was going to garbage it up but the tone up to that point was that people wanted to go at each other. 2.0 doing bad comedy in a blood feud within a cage just doesn't work for me. I didn't mind Claudio vs Jake because they had some history and the crowd popped for seeing the two big guys go at it.
    Truthfully, the glue that held this entire match together was Claudio. He didn't get in the way of the match the way 2.0, Jericho or Moxley did. He acted like a real team member, high fiving everyone for their efforts, working with his guys in doing double team moves and even climbed to the top because Moxley is scared of heights. Claudio complimented each part of the match in a similar vein as Arn Anderson in War Games.
    I really wonder if Tony Khan understands what he has in Claudio. I mean now that AEW has that All Pacific title, it seems like it's real purpose was to give Pac something to do while he's in England to help promote AEW's name. But for my money, if Miro wasn't going to win that title, then the next guy who should hold it is Claudio. The guy needs some gold badly. If they end up giving Wardlow the title, I think Claudio should challenge for it and beat Wardlow (if they intend to keep the AP title on Pac that is). Wardlow is green and without MJF or a guy like Punk leading him around, he's going to get exposed really fast. And I think Claudio can lead him pretty well.
    As for the rest of this terrible match, I mean I wouldn't doubt this was simmering in Jericho's mind for sometime. I think he wanted this the last time but with a crowd. But the whole thing literally was the proverbial kitchen sink being tossed in. It looked bad all around outside of Claudio trying to make sense of some of it. The lighter fluid spot was so awful that they ended up ditching it (thank god). It's one of those situations where they obviously didn't think it through in that off case that the bottle would pop out of the cage and someone had to get it back in through a hole that couldn't fit. Poor Santana getting injured and just laying around for the remainder of the match while being trapped in the cage. The ring apron being half torn off and exposing what was underneath. What was that for? The bad chopsticks spot and unnecessary thumbtacks. Why not just bring an assault rifle at this point?
    But the finale was just so anti-climatical. Yes, there was the stupid Sammy spot trying to kill himself in a tribute to Mick Foley since it was the anniversary of that 98 Hell in the Cell match. But it's hard to stomach something like that after the Owen Hart fall. Sure it wasn't from the same height but anything could go wrong. I mean Santana hurt his leg in a freak accident. So why increase the chances of killing oneself or getting seriously injured? I mean what's it going to take before Tony Khan realizes that his wrestlers are destroying themselves? Is it going to be someone like Sammy flying off the cage again and landing head first and snapping his neck like Misawa or Jack Evans?
    Anyway, the double submission was...visually uninspiring. Considering the rest of the clusterfuck going on, how could the referees even tell from their vantage point that some person was submitting? Yes, the people at home watching TV could see it but what the camera sees shouldn't be what the referee sees. And Excalibur was dreary here. The way he talked about how "Eddie Kingston felt Claudio is condescending." Dude, the guy is giving high fives to his teammates, checking up on Eddie when he was down and caring about the match. What kind of stupid statement is that? This isn't like Bobby Heenan making snarky commentary with Piper wearing a kilt during the Royal Rumble in '92 or Jesse Ventura lambasting Uncle Elmer during that wedding with the fish in the Mississippi River line he had. People who haven't followed Kingston or Claudio from their indy days won't have a single idea why these guys hate each other for no apparent reason. Just saying, "These guys have a rivalry for years" doesn't help. Kingston just looks like a crybaby dumbass rejecting any help from Claudio while Claudio seems like the ultimate team player and the first guy you want to pick. The majority aren't going to care about what happened ages ago and should be long forgotten about. This is a new place, a new environment. If you need to reference something, use what the bigger star did at his last company where people still remember his deeds, not some small time, mall wrestling spot. It makes everyone seem really petty if they still care about the small time.
