- FINALLY installing one piece floor pan in 1968 Firebird convertible. Trying get this old bird back up to good driver quality. This is not a 100 point restoration this time but more of a budget build so that this car can hit the road relatively quick and reliable.

The nut held in place with a fabricated piece of metal, we called those clip nuts!
that makes sense
Man, my bones were aching just watching you having to muscle that floor board in. Good work!! If I lived closer, I would definitely have loved to help!
Lol. Well I might have over done it, i welcome visitors anytime. Makes it more fun actually
@@VinylVillageGarage Indiana is a long way from the left coast lol.
I want to start by saying thank you for taking your time showing people that they can restore a old muscle car It's also great that you are showing it on a 1st generation Firebird I am a big big fan of 1st generation firebirds I also make CZcams videos There aint too many firebirds out there at all take care God bless and keep up the Great job 👍
Glad to help, one of my big goals is to build some confidence and educate people that this stuff can be done at home. CZcams is a valuable resource. We did not have it 20 years ago so a lot of trial and error in my beginning. With that said if I can save you time and get you there quickly then I feel I have done my part for this community and hobby I love. Especially old Firebirds. Gota save them birds!!
Nice 1967 and 1969 bird too. A big thank you for doing your part. Save them birds!!!
@@VinylVillageGarage You are absolutely right when I bought my 67 Firebird I was 22 years old and now I am 40 years old no CZcams back then I learn by hard hard work I drove up to New York 2 and a 1/2 hours for my house trying to save a 68 Firebird yesterday but the man was asking too much in my opinion for the car it in really rough shape but I did
find original fenders for my 67 and and a original deck lid so I have an extra deck lid and 2 extra fenders This fall I'll be working on that we have too save our firebirds out there thank you for what you are doing
I am 43 this year I love building cars if I could find a way to make a steady income doing it I would all day. I don’t want it to turn into a chore either so for now weekend warrior for me I plan to make a trip to new York oct 1st to pick up another bird project. Still working out the deal if all things line up I will have another one for the channel.
@@VinylVillageGarage what year bird
@@firstgenerationgarage2803 1969 350 2 bbl convertible. There is a slim chance it’s almost all original and numbers matching if it is I might do a back to original restoration. Oddly enough if I do acquire this one all three of my 1969 birds where factory crystal turquoise. they are not that color now but what are the odds?? Just interesting I suppose
Lot of work, nice to see it coming together.
I suppose to some it’s work to me it’s fun. Now body “work” not my favorite. Lol
Shifter hole, can you do that later?
Yup I plan to use the cutoff wheel this time. I wanted to use the torch but I am low on acetylene.
The seat mounts go in after I take it?
Seat bases will go in after welding the main pan in.
Do u have the measurements for the location of the belly brace? I am replacing my Floorplan also on my 68 vert
I can get whatever you need. I can send you a diagram. Unfortunately I found out CZcams will delete messages with email address in them so please go to my video descriptions and send an email to me and then I can send you the diagram
Is this cat still for sale?
lol. I assume that was a typo if not the cat isn’t for sale 😉 but the car will be soon.
Who sells the best fitting floor pans for firebirds??
Depends what year Firebird 67,68,69? 68 AMD all the way. 67 OER but you have to remove fuel line brackets , 69 AMD is a little better but you have to transfer brake and fuel line brackets back onto it.
@@VinylVillageGarage thank you
Are selling your cat or the car. Lol? How much for the CAR?
car will be for sale soon. price is undecided at this point depends on how much invested when done. thanks for watching or make me an offer I can’t refuse. 😁
