This was very helpful as there are not instructions detailing where to locate the console… given your experience and what I have read I believe I am ready to start a similar installation in my project 68 Camaro. Much thanks for all the detail: positioning, use of RivNut tool, etc
You're welcome!
Happy birthday
Thanks. I am trying not to have anymore birthdays it seem I just keep getting older when I do.
Just what I needed to finish off my '67 Firebird shifter install!!!
Awesome glad to help, you should bring it to Firebird fest next year!
The car did not burn to the ground after all, Happy belated birthday!
Thanks. I am trying real hard not to get older but it just keeps happening

Thanks it’s come a long way and almost done!
Thanks bro
No prob. Glad to help
About to tackle this project. Question: How does the shifter plate thingy sit/install on the console? Mine is smooshed on with some kind of putty that squeezes out. No telling what the last owner did. 👀👀👀 Thanks!🙌🏻❤️
depends are you working on a 1968 or 1969 shifter bezel? 1968 the plate has snap type clips that attach it onto the floor shifter housing. 1969 has two screws that attach it to the floor shifter. I wish I could add photos on here to help it make more sense. I know it was not originally glued on.
@@VinylVillageGarage it’s a ‘68. Thanks for the quick reply! They probably broke the clips and decided to use silly putty instead. 😒 Now I know what I’m going to see under there, thanks to you! 🙌🏻🥳
@@charlieann82 glad to help this is why I am doing this! Thanks for watching and subscribing.
I'm thinking about getting this 1957 Pontiac. It's a column shifter ( automatic) but I want to switch it to the floor. Can I do it myself or should I get " a professional" to do it for me.
I am going tell you go for it, some of the best parts about owing a classic car is building and modifying it yourself.
Maybe you can find a good shop to help you, or maybe they hack it up so bad you definitely could’ve done a better job. So if you do take in get some references before you do.
Have you ever used npd panels
I haven’t used anything from NPD yet, who makes their panels? Or what brand
Happy birthday
Thanks 😊
