UK Weather Forecast: Mostly Dry, Hot And Sunny (Wednesday 26th June 2024)

- Good morning everyone and welcome to todays UK weather forecast on Wednesday 26th June 2024.
Current Situation: High pressure is weakening as low pressure deepens in the Atlantic...
Today:
Wednesday starts mostly dry, sunny and very warm/humid but there are one or two scattered showers across north west England and southern Scotland.
Through the rest of the day most places will stay dry with prolonged spells of sunshine but scattered thundery showers will develop through parts of Wales, northern England and Scotland while a band of cloud and rain approaches Northern Ireland. These are the exceptions to the rule though, as the bulk of the country will stay dry with bags of sunshine. It will be a very warm or even locally hot day with temperatures of 21C to 31C (70F to 88F) with an outside chance of 32C (90F) in central London.
Tonight:
A band of heavy rain and freshening winds pushes eastwards into Northern Ireland and western Scotland while other parts of Scotland and possible northern England see a few scattered thunderstorms. The rest of England and Wales will stay dry with clear spells and variable cloud. It will be a very warm and humid night with temperatures of 13C to 20C.
Tomorrow:
A band of cloud and rain pushes eastwards with any rain dying out as it does so. More showers or longer spells of rain pushing into western Scotland and Northern Ireland while other northern regions have a few scattered showers. It will be a windy day with gusts reaching 40-60MPH across much of the country. Temperatures will still be very warm in the south east corner at 25C but most places will become cooler and fresher with temperatures of 12C to 23C.
Outlook:
Friday: Cooler and fresher but still warm with plenty of sunshine. Showers in the north.
Saturday: Some showery rain for parts of England and Wales but most places dry. Very warm in the south east.
Sunday: Sunshine and scattered showers. Cooler.
