Fire alarm test in academic building

- Fire alarm test in one of the academic buildings at the college where I work campus police. This was done after hours. Part of the first floor is being remodeled, hence the furniture in the hallway. The system is Spectronics. I don't know any model numbers. The horn/strobes sound like a kin to the 7002t. Sorry for the long bit at the beginning with resetting the pull station.

My biggest fear is that being stuck in a building with these fucking alarms on in the dark
Same
Especially in a giant one
czcams.com/video/yD9A-0oIt80/video.html
One of My worst fear is being in that sports building alone in the dark and the alarm goes off
Same too
i don’t know what to be more scared of, the fact the alarm activated immediately once you pulled it down, the distressed continuous horn, the weird flashing fire light or the fact that this video was made in 2012… creepy nostalgic year.
2012 was better than the 2020s so far to be fair.
Those alarms are the older 7002T, also known as simply the 7002. They are some classics to never forget!
May I have your Attention please, May I have your Attention please. A swarm of bees has reported in the building. While this is being verified, Please leave the building by the... Nearest exit. Do NOT use the elevators

it’s not taunting, the noise is there in the first place to signal danger.
but I have to agree, it’s an upleasant and scary noise at that

I honestly really like the sound of that alarm!
My elementary school had SpaceAge mechanical horns and I always loved fire drills!
Yeah.
did you go to barnstable united elementary school?
it has a spectronics system with spaceage mech horns

Its amazing how fast that thing went off after you pulled it

There’s no verification on the panel so that makes sense.
Same here, some system.
@Walter Leos that's not how it works.
@Walter Leos Ok thanks for letting me know
The Wheelock 7002t is my favourite vintage fire alarm
@ RomphfBrothers Romphf The predecessor to the 7002T, the 7002.
No thats the 7002-24
Thems some fast strobes! The horn popping always seemed low rent to me from an engineering standpoint but they get the job done.
The 7002T at 0:43 is very healthy if the strobe flashes that fast
Lmao, that second alarm sounded like it was on crack. 😂😂😂
True that

That's a Wheelock 7002 rebranded by spectronics.
7002ts are not even that loud idk why people think there loud but the horn skipping is awesome
The half-lite hallways looks so creepy, especially when the fire alarms are the only thing making all of the noise.

Tech: Uh... Fire alarm dude, one of these alarms is flashing too fast.
Fire alarm dude: Looks like someone tampered with it. I'll contact Thunderbeam.
*Fire alarm dude then contacts Thunderbeam.*
Thunderbeam: Hello?
Fire alarm dude: Someone tampered with one of the alarms in the academic building.
Thunderbeam: Name of alarm?
Fire alarm dude: Wheelock 7002
Thunderbeam: Aftermath?
Fire alarm dude: The strobe is flashing at 220BPM, with is WAAAAY fast
Thunderbeam: OK, I will be there soon.
*15 minutes later, Thunderbeam arrives at the academic building*
Thunderbeam: Where is the alarm?
Fire alarm dude & tech: Upstairs, near the stairwell.
*Later, Thunderbeam goes to the alarm and slows down the strobe.*
Thunderbeam: The strobe has been adjusted to 90BPM.
Tech: Thanks.
Thunderbeam: You're welcome!
THE END!
Even better shut the strobe off
@MinerMini2115 I'd go for the 70002
Never look @ a strobe that fast it would mean trouble for ur brain

Fire Alarm 2: Happy Hardcore

I like how each alarm has a lower pitch as you walk past them. If you swapped the last two alarms, it would be like a fire alarm chromatic scale.

Indeed.
1:04 I LOVE THE SOUND
Those are the old predecessors, like the Springfield town hall had, definitely not later ones like one of my stomping grounds had. (They had 7002Ts and they were installed in 1989 or 1990)
Nope
@@kayderrobh5931 I was talking about these, which are the old version of what I grew up with. The house I was at, had much newer.
They look like y002T's from the appearance and they have the same style strobes. Maybe Wheelock rebranded them for Spectronics there are a lot of interbrandings in the fire alarm industry. Some Faraday horns are rebranded as Simplex and so on
I want this to be my school’s fire alarm
A big thank you to u for the warning
A swarm of bees is coming! lol jk
They all sound different; why is that?
they're old 7002ts, thats why.

Old 7002s
The dc horns have alot of different pitches all ac horns sound the same
Those are 7002
The way how the fire alarm goes off already when he pulled it
My favorite part is the 4th Fire Alarm.
4002s are very interesting. I have a 4001T
The horns were Wheelock 7002s.
Every video i see of these kind of alarms make skipping sounds as the strobe flashes. Is the strobe too much power or what?
u do a rally good job
I wish those pulls where reset by key!
awesome
Those look like Wheelock 7002 horn/strobes. The 7002 is the predecessor to the 7002T. More or less the same, but 7002T has different strobe lettering, and a vandal-proof grille.
2nd fire alarm gettin lit
Imagine sleeping then waking up to this I would just cry
Seems like those things were about to spaz out and fly off the wall!
The alarm at 01:18 would work nicely with other alarms in 120BPM Pulse (Fast March Time).
Actually they’re on continuous it sounds that because it’s skipping like a 7002T does
@@user-nn7eq1ex5w
You: commenting something painfully obvious.
My joke: over your head.
Oh I apologize
These Wheelock 7002s sound new
Those ARE 7002's. They were distributed by Spectronics, and probably have a different model number, but they were manufactured by Wheelock, and not a knockoff.
Nice! The second strobe flashes so fast also how come the wheelock 7002s make a funny clicking/skipping sound when the strobe flashes?
Late, but since all the power goes to the strobe, it causes the horn to skip.
Probably an induced current from the discharge, the horns don't cut out but get momentarily louder.
0:26 i love this 7002
If the first floor is being remodeled, does this mean they would replace some of horns with newer horn/strobes in that area?
No. Just remodeling floor layout and updating older rooms with new technology.

The Chitty Chatty Commenter voltage is to high

This sounds really creepy, I like it though.
*hears alarm*
“HOW THE F*** DID BEES GET IN HERE??!!”
0:45 The Strokes - Last Nite
Why are they all at different speeds?
Pretty much... Our other panels on campus run the trouble and alarm relays out over the campus infrastructure and interact with the main panel. It basically detects resistance, open, and closed circuits to register normal, troubles, and alarms respectively. The main panel then dials into Simplex. We have 13 buildings it monitors. 5 building have local alarms only.
@dylan9241 it had been a while (almost 12 months) and curiosity. I had never used the panel. Many of the buildings could really use upgrades from the local alarms. It's cost prohibitive at this point.
It’s really
1:14 We had similar alarms at my elementary school, and they scared the hell out of me. I haven't thought about it in year. I think the creepiest thing is the slight tonal difference you get between multiple alarms as you move.
@Joel Speck, very nice test videostrangley enough, the apartment building Im in still has 7002 horn strobes, and many of these here nearly identical to those in my building.
I see them a lot in older hotels.
