How hard is the Etape du Tour 2023?
If you're interested in following the Etape du Tour 2023, then be sure to watch this video! We'll give you a preview of the route, as well as tips on how to follow the race and enjoy the event. We hope you enjoy this preview of the Etape du Tour 2023!
The 2023 Etape du Tour Route Preview - the first 80kms of the route of the Etape from Annemasse to Morzine , we look at the section through the Chablais - the Col de Saxel, Col de Cou, Col du Feu and the Col de Jambaz. Water stops, danger points, hints and tips.
Before Winter arrives in the French Alps I rode the first 80kms of the 2023 Etape du Tour route. This is a detailed look at the Chablais section with the first four climbs of the Etape 2023. Join me as I point out some of the water stops outside the official Etape du Tour feed and drink stations.
Col de Saxel 4.3km at 4.6%
Col de Cou 7km at 7.4%
Col du Feu 5.8km at 7.8%
Col de Jambaz 6 km at around 4 and 5%
This Route preview ( Reconnaissance parcours ) is in English with French subtitles.
This area of the French Alps is relatively unknown to visiting riders who are more focused on the classic Tour de France Cols, such as the Galibier, Alpe D'Huez and the Joux Plane which also features in the Etape du Tour 2023.
As we continue to focus on the Etape du Tour 2023 from Annemasse to Morzine we will add more content to help prepare you for the Etape as we head towards 2023 and the event in July.
The Chablais region can be relatively traffic free away from the main roads. Initially its the Valley Verte and then into the Chablais proper.
After the Chablais the Etape du Tour 2023 climbs the Col de la Ramaz from Mieussy on the West side to the summit of the Col de la Ramaz at 1619M. The climb is 14km with a 960M climb at an average 7% and finally onto the Col de Joux Plane.

A wonderful tease of the "easy" part of the 2023 Etape du Tour! I'm sure the scenery is stunning. I liked the shadow-wave at 2:33!

these vids are great! I used last years one, watched it several times and did actually stop at one of the water fountains you had advised on, on the descent of the top of the Croix De Fer into Allemond! I was f*cked by that point but the water fountain stop really did help me! I am so surprised nobody else makes little teaser videos like these... keep up the good work and enjoy the alps.... I would also be interested in a video more about you? What did you do before? Whats your background?

Joux Plane is similar to a tough Pyrenees climb.

Not sure where in Annemasse - I would think the outskirts with 16,000 riders. Check back next week and I'll cover off weather in the next video. Thanks for watching Mike

    Another great Vid Mike
These are brilliant for getting a real picture of the course - the first half looks like a nice day out on the bike with couple of sections to keep the matches safely tucked away from being used up
The second half looks like being punched in the face repeatedly by two medium height thugs 😳
