Orange Noise for 10 Sweet Hours of Sonic Ambience

- Orange noise is a custom variation of pink noise focused on low frequency energy for your ambient listening enjoyment. The classic broadcast noise colors, White, Pink, Blue, Violet Red, Brown, Grey Noise • Grey Noise the Smoothe... , Green and Black Noise, have been popular staples of the Noise Ambient channel. But what about other colors? Well, Orange Noise was never part of the original noise colors as defined from the broadcast industry nearly a century ago, but it can be created, as I have done here.
All the noise colors are analogous to the light spectrum, red noise at the low frequency side of the spectrum (e.g. infrared) and violet at the high frequency side (e.g. ultraviolet). The color orange is a blend of the primary colors, red and yellow. Looking at a light spectrum graph, I selected red and yellow regions of the spectrum, then overlaid an audio frequency graph of where those bands would be located in the audio spectrum. Equalization filters were applied to boost those bands of noise and cut the non related frequency bands.
The result is a low to low-mid frequency noise focused around the area of 70Hz to 200Hz. It sounds similar to Grey Noise with less high frequencies.
For the video, I went with...(you may have guessed) an orange theme.
Thanks as always for listening to the sonic creations. Dale

This feels like that soothing sound you hear as a kid when you're in a public pool at a birthday party and go underwater, blocking out everyone and just feeling this intense peace for a few seconds.
Quite the evocative description. You're a writer, I bet. Well put!
Yea
Just as soothing is the thought of how many people probably peed in that pool
Perfect description!

This is my favorite so far. No high pitches or painful 'hissing' but not deep enough to be unsettling - perfect to fall asleep to!
exactlyy
Try red noise I love it
try brown noise
Agreed!
No there is still hiss
this feels rounded, like, it's not sharp or stabby while listening to it, it feels rounded and smooth
Weird

This noise really reminds me of having an amazing trip ahead of you and slowly falling asleep on the plane covered in comfy blankets and pillows. It being like freezing in the airplane its just so comforting.
I always bring a hoodie for the flight and pajamas if the flight is overnight
That's exactly how I describe it too. The other thing it reminds of is the engine sound aboard a cruise liner, but that's really pretentious! 😉
Yes !!
Same.
@@dalesnale awwwww ...cute lol ;D
I suffer from chronic pain and usually wake up 3 or 4 times a night. I Just slept for 8 hours straight with this noise and I actually didn't believe that I would ever do that again. I am literally buzzing!!!
What's causing your pain?
Try taking B1.
@@stone8859 I have arthritis in my spine, hips and knees. I also have fibromyalgia
I also have chronic pain. And I’m neurodivergent. Other color sounds bother me. But this feels like an ear hug. I hope I sleep well!
Me too I adjust the pillows hundreds of times even if my night shirt has a lump I can feel it but first time I tried the orange the phone actually ran over the 10 hours which pain patients sleep more hours cuz they haven't gotten to the level of sleep for the body to repair itself! Yep my favorite too
this reminds me of being on a plane, staring out the window at the golden clouds that reflected in the sunset. good times
same for me but no clouds. just *blue*

I agree, I think it sounds like aircraft noise too. I've been using to sooth my tinnitus and fall asleep. I'm sure the next time I fly I will like one of Pavlov's dogs and immediately fall asleep.
Nailed it
I came here because brown noise was recommended for calming adhd brains before sleep. I found it irritated me. Your orange noise, however, is ear velvet, soft and utterly soothing. I'm finding it easy to drift off to sleep. Thank you, Dale. You've created a wonderful gift.
Same for me! Brown noise made me feel real irritable yet orange has been so soothing
Same. Came here for brown which was irritating. This however, was what I needed.
this is the most adorable comment ever aww
I agree, same here found this by accident …. It’s so soft and warm … I’m loving orange
Ear velvet 😍🥰
Feels like I physically feel warmer when listening to this... definitiely my favourite frequency
Spent a long time trying to find a sound that can satisfy my needs for my sleep. I need a consistent deep sound which doesn't change for my whole sleep. I will always wake every few hours otherwise. This is the closest to it. My headphones has a deep base feature which I've added and seems to boost it for me. The deeper the sound, the better the effect for me. It hits my tingles and keeps me relaxed.
this and red
@@bogus3172 Isn't a valid sentence ...
@@rob28882 there is super deep brown noise which it a bit deeper than this if you prefer deeper

This is exactly the kind of sound that perfectly satisfies the need to stop hearing noise while having a mental break. It's just so... comforting. Thank you.
Great to hear this is so satisfying to so many listeners.
Everyone always loves the white noise but personally, I find it too harsh. This orange noise is so soothing and calm, I love it
The 😅w😅 is 😅😅😅😢😢😢y😊
I'm not trying to break a record, but I'm going on 3 straight months sleeping to this sound... with no end in sight😴😴😴
I just switch it up every night and listen to different things. It actually gives me different types of dreams as well
I swear this is just how a kind of lame creepypasta starts...

When life gives you oranges. Make noise!
I feel like I’m in a car while it’s snowing, and the radio is off and all you hear is the sound of the heater on full blast while the engine hums beneath
Reminds me of a very distant roaring waterfall, but I’m at the bottom of the river where the water is calm.
Love that description, nice wordsmithing 👍
Love this sonic picture :)
Thank you so much. I have searched far and beyond to find the perfect “noise” for me. I had found it once and never was able to find it again. This orange noise is so comforting and it reminds me of what I had found awhile ago. This orange noise is like soft vibrations to my entire body and brain. It is calm.
Nice to hear as we search for the ultimate noise :)
I have ADHD, and this is the absolute best for helping me deal with sensory overload and noise sensitivity. Thank you, sir!
Thanks so much for listening.
Sounds like a quite peaceful day at home with the Landry machine on windows open with the evening breeze flowing through the curtains and throw in a box fan. Mom is cooking and your a kid taking a nap before dinner.
Love the sound story.
Oh man, sounds like the dream. I would do anything to go back and enjoy that kind of day again
This reminds me of a campfire but without the pops and crackles that a campfire has. I love this so much! It doesn’t have any high scratchy pitches either. This is perfect. Thank you!
I've used brown noise to sleep through every new year celebration since 1999 (apart from 2007). I think I'm gonna try orange noise this year(!)
depressing
What happened in 07?
Why not 07, we need explanations
We need to know what happened in 2007

I don't know if everyone can move their inner ear muscles, but as someone who can, I can tell you that THIS IS EXACTLY the same sound. I had more of an effect than the brown noise. Orange noise is a 10/10 for me
I find that mine is closer to blue noise, but yeah very similar!
Yeah when you yawn your ear muscles apparently close so you get this exact sound
OMG IT IS!!!! I TRIED IT AND UR RIGHT
It's very close for me, but my "ear noise" is a little deeper. I'm male, so it could simply be due to being slightly larger? (Or not. I don't know particulars about people here, obviously.)
Mine feels a bit less “airy” just the core sound
This is trippy. Feels like I'm in space
My brain has been craving this and I had no idea Orange 🍊 sound existed. Truly feels like being under an old d hook hair dryer but without the heat. Exactly what I needed. Thank you.
It exists now from my imagination to yours :)
It sounds exactly like it is supposed to: as if you are in the heart of a calm and warming cottage fire place.
This is so hypnotic your mind gets deeper and drawn right into the abyss of the sound waves. What a beautiful piece I immediately hear the sound of a wild fire eating up the surrounding land being fanned by the wind getting hotter and hotter like a blast furnace this sound makes the mind feel so relaxed and warm like it’s cocooned in a woolly blanket. Dale thank you for sharing this with us love from Glasgow Scotland 🏴
Cheers Daniel :)
After hours of searching for a smooth, deep sound. This is it. The best one hands down. I'm getting tired even while typing this. I think I might actually find some peace tonight. Thank you so much.

There is no sound under water 😂
I will never go back to white noise again... Thanks ❤
If there was the ability to physically hear the sun, this is that sound.
You can't hear the sun? You should get your hearing checked
I have some bad news. The sun is just a giant hydrogen bomb, idk if it’d make this noise
No, we’ve all been lied to. The sun is a heat light that goes around the northern center of earth, and its the same size and has the opposite elements of the moon. Its called heliocentrism.
@@flushingfred Seems like someone dropped out of school
@@sonicplushwithsunglasses actually back then when Galileo lived, the church, believed that God would put its greatest creation in the middle, and that the sun from evolved around the earth but I am not Christian. I only found that when I was searching up Galileo for a school project but yeah.
This sounds like when your by a campfire and the crackling noises is muffled by the soft Christmas blanket
I like that!
i was gonna say a fire but with none of the crackling
This is perfect. I can drown out sounds in the daytime as I sleep. White noise is too high, nature sounds are too distracting. THIS reminds me of the sound you hear when you are on a 6 hour flight in the middle of the night and there are maybe a dozen or so passengers. ❤
This feels like flying on a plane at 1 am and youre unable to sleep

I just came here for the comments as this blissfulness showers the tunes within my soulfulness....
The community posts some great comments:)
It's no surprise that my favorite frequency happens to be my favorite color. 🧡 What a lush, comforting, warm, open sound. I was looking at how to research the sound the large street cleaner outside my neighborhood made...it was so calming and soothing the way it reverberated off the wet pavement and buildings. Brown noise was great, too, but this is as close as I could get. Beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. You're an angel ✨🕊️
So many other videos of brown noise and pink noise and things like that were actually making me really anxious and instantly dizzy (not sure why but it was just stressful to listen) but this actually is relaxing me and calming my anxiety down a lot. Thank you!! What a great combo
Thanks Andie. I'll be sure to take a look at your channel. :)
Great to see you here! I just got done watching one of your videos so that's wild
I'm so scared of green noise. Really gives me the creeps. Blue, pink and white are just annoying and brown eh... orange is perfect.

ear velvet 🤢🤢 toe marmalade 🤢🤢 tongue sandwich... disgusting
Sounds like a pot of hot water just before it’s boils. Warm soothing sounds.
Great, I'd recommend making the video black screen so people can have it on in the background while sleeping.
I feel that black screen creations are not in the spirit of what CZcams desires from creators moving forward. It is a video platform after all, and so my audio focused works will have a creative video thematic with the audio component. Every playback device can be set to darken screen by the viewer...or turn the phone or tablet upside down. Thanks for listening.
The option for a black screen would be appreciated for sure.
@@dalesnale you’re not making content for CZcams. You’re making it for viewers.
@@dalesnale Too bad. I see many other creators going to black screen and they always are much-appreciated. CZcams has a "listenable" tag that it allows me to search by, cutting against the notion that it doesn't want content focused on the audio side of things. Hopefully you don't mean you're prioritizing what you believe CZcams search algorithms want over providing content for your (content) consumers.
Or you could just pay for premium and lock your phone and the video will still play the audio. I never have a problem.😆
This is my favorite. I thought the comments were probably an exaggeration, but nope, this is indeed very peaceful.
This reminds me of this warm feeling you get when you just lay down in summer on a balcony, with a book covering your eyes so the sun doesnt blind you.
Its like a warm-hug that makes your whole body feels tired and relaxed
Love that!
This is incredible! I happened upon this site because I was wondering what kind of noise my ceiling fan emits. Then, I went down the color noise rabbit hole!
I live w/ chronic pain from Systemic Lupus, Fibro, DDD, etc. Even w/surgeries & pain management, I was told that I will have to live w/the pain. And I have... Pain is with me every hour of every day. It is a reminder of my existence.
However, for just a few more hours a night, pain has let me sleep a little more soundly. I'm not tossing & turning to get comfortable. I'm not readjusting my clothing. I'm not itching & scratching. I'm not counting the hours until I wake. I'm asleep.

I don't know if this is a coincidence or not but my baby slept for 5 hours straight in his cot last night and usually he wakes up after the first 2 hours with a mixture of white and brown noise or just one or the other. Only time will tell if this makes a permanent difference. Thank you for uploading this!
Has it worked?
Please be careful with playing any color of noise to babies/children as it can affect the development of their hearing. Prof. Andrew Huberman explains it in detail on his podcast.
This is kind of what it sounds like when you scrunch your face so hard that you can hear your blood
