  • The Tinnitus Attenuator is noise with a boosted frequency range of 9500 Hz (9.5 kHz). This noise has a diminishing slope in frequencies similar to Violet Noise: • Ten Hours of Violet No... . This noise comes by request from a listener who pointed out that 9500 Hz is the frequency CZcamsr, Rick Beato mentioned as his particular tinnitus ringing frequency in his video: "Tinnitus - The Musicians Demon".
    Rick's video elevated the conversation inside the music business community lowering the stigma for discussing Tinnitus, which studies indicate runs between 30%-50% in this industry. In the general population, tinnitus is thought to effect 10% to 15% of people. This is thought to come from the increased sound levels experienced and time of exposure over many years. Please practice safe sound everybody. High volume has an addictive element I have witnessed though musicians demanding louder than fit volumes onstage and in the studio. Frankly, these musicians are trying to recreate a feeling they had as youthful musicians that is not achievable. Learn to live and perform with lower levels, ear protection, breaks from high sound levels and play dynamically.
    How noise masking works:
    Noise masking is one element to tinnitus retrainment therapy. By listening to a sound, such as noise, water, or crickets that is relatively close the the frequency the listener has as their tinnitus frequency, the mind can be distracted away from the sound it is producing that is essentially stuck in an auto-complete loop. This technique offers some relief with a closely matched frequency (+/- 10%). It does not work for all types of "T", but when it does, it may reduce the ringing level by 30%.
    If the listener's ringing sound is more like noise, than tone, a sound with pitch, such as babbly water noise or crickets may work better.
    Keep a positive attitude, please leave a comment to to elevate the conversation and share your listening experience.
    Thanks for listening, Dale

    Oh my gosh! When this started playing I actually felt the muscles in my face relax. This was the first time in my life I realized the tinnitus that has been a daily part of my life for decades is actually stressing me out. Dale, you are AMAZING! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

      I'm also realizing the same thing when I use masking options that the muscles in my face will relax. My T is at a place where I basically mask all the time. Not sure what I'd do without this option.

    My tinnitus is between 7Khz and 8.5Khz. I have a tone generator app on my phone, so I could discover my frequencies and now I have a freq. to work on my issues! I listened to this particular frequency for just an hour and a half and the tinnitus in my left ear has been silenced, all day today! I may need to use another frequency for the right ear, but that has been brought down to a dull roar! This was the Most helpful frequency, out of all I tried so far. But I have a few of them, not quite as effective, but still helpful! Thanks Heaps, Dale!

    This is a ‘T’ eraser for me, albeit briefly. Regardless, I’ll take anything I can. Thank you yet again Dale. Your work is so appreciated!!

    I've been really enjoying this one and sleeping better with it on until I was blasted awake with a commercial about 6 hours in last night. I thought commercials were only shown before, not during, these videos.

    • @dalesnale
      @dalesnale  Před 23 dny +2

      No commercials is how the preferences are set on all videos on the channel. Yet, for some reason, there is a glitch I have made CZcams aware of regarding the occasional 6 hour mark ad. This may have to do with your system or browser auto-updating and triggering an add when it re-engages the video, so make sure those are off. I hope they get to the bottom of it soon, because mid-roll ads compromise the listening experience.

    ok, you do wonderful work, bur some have H and hi pitched T which can be very electronic hizzing noise...this doesn't help, only exacerbates it. is there some kind of sound that works for that? just asking and thank you for all the the people you do help

    • @dalesnale
      @dalesnale  Před 26 dny

      I have discussed this with an audiologist, and for people that have a noise style "T" sound, something with a bit of pitch or variation is likely better suited. This might include Crickets czcams.com/video/jFCEb6MoWd4/video.html, Creek Water Sounds czcams.com/users/liveHidoBuBynaM Cicadas czcams.com/video/y6ockNbP8u0/video.html, Fans czcams.com/video/1iP5ptYuloE/video.html or other natural sounds. It will take experimentation to discover a suitable sound, and noise masking does not work for every variation of "T".

    I’m not sure how this helps? It masks the ringing in my ears but I get no long term benefits. Ringing comes right back and I’m taking a new medication that has kicked up the ringing. It’s horrible

    • @ThisIS_Insane
      @ThisIS_Insane Před měsícem

      If you get a tone generator app on your phone, you can tune it to the frequency of one ear. When you match the frequency, the tone will disappear, because the sound waves will cancel each other out. Write that one down and test the other ear. I'm using this frequency, as it has had the best effect on one ear. I'll take it! Still looking for the match to the right ear. Good Luck!

      Noise masking is one part of the tinnitus retrainment therapy. It can only reduce the level to a degree (30% is typical). Listeners often use these sounds for a period of several day and weeks during flair ups. Discussing this side effect with your physician is a good idea.
