- Authorities say a police chase ended with the arrest of a fugitive wanted in Wisconsin who was spotted in Ohio. The Toledo Police Department in Ohio said they received a tip that the fugitive, Robert Johnson, was in the area. Johnson has been wanted by Wisconsin authorities since November 2021 after he escaped custody during an inmate transport at an airport.

Let this video be a lesson to all you people out there who don't use your turn signals. If this guy is in the middle of a police pursuit can use his turn signals, you don't have any excuse.

Imagine knowing that at any moment, the suspect could stick his arm out the window and fire at you with a gun. Or, knowing that once this chase is over, the suspect may exit the vehicle and fire at you. If either of those happen, and the suspect has good aim, then that would be your last day of life.
Cops deserve more credit. They're so vilified by society these days.

I'm more concerned about the roads. Not just the potholes, if you get lost, that's *a day* to find your way back to the interstate.

It’s always funny to me to see people in car chases breaking multiple laws but using their turn signals.
When on a police chase the prosecution will watch these videos and charge the driver for every traffic violation on top of the evading and other criminal charges
If you've made over 40 turns and you still haven't lost the police behind you, it should be mandatory that you have to pull over and give up. There should be a like a law or something.

This officer is very talented as a driver. He knows where apex is most of the time.
I knew instantly that this guy wasn't getting away when I saw the cops driving. He widens the turns as much as he can for the given situation. And knows the limits of his tires. Listen to him taking some of those turns. He's making all four tires squall. That's the sign of a great driver. I'll bet money that not many get away from this cop.

The condition of the roads in this chase are horrendous… I’d vote every single one of them out of office. I’ve never seen so many poorly taken care of streets. One after another. Oh and good police work!

I grew up in WV, and had family in Ohio. First, the politicians spend the road money on other things. Second, the majority of the people in these states can't afford any more taxes for roads. I know for a fact that it's not the people who are the problem, it's the governments of these states.
Goes to show if you cooperate even after a pursuit, you get to go to court instead of hospital or morgue.

Here's an interesting historical fact about Toledo, Ohio. It is the source of the historical rivalry between Ohio and Michigan which began with a legitimate territorial dispute over who got Toledo. This occurred in 1834 and 1835.
The dispute went so far as to see Ohio and Michigan both send their militias into Toledo. There were no shots fired, but at the end of the day Michigan was declared winner of the war and Ohio was the one that had to take Toledo.
...there's been unquenchable animosity ever since.

I am curious if there are any statistics on high speed pursuits in the US; where the perpetrator is caught/arrested or manages to elude police? Seems to me that 95% of the online videos show the person ended up in police custody with (many) additional charges, I've only seen a few where they state the driver got away.
Can we chunk a month or two off his sentence for using turn signals? That's gotta count for something.

@@richseng Yes, south side near Highland park. It’s Detroit and Airport where I first recognized where they were. I go by there on my way to the VA near Arlington.
