Lexi we need a story time on how you convinced your mom to let you skip school and read Pillars of the Earth again 😂❤️
You know a book is good when you have such a deep emotional reaction to it like this. I’m definitely taking a few of these recommendations ❤
Yay! I hope you find some you like!!
Oh my gosh. World Without End, the sequel to Pillars of the Earth, changed my life! I was at my local library (probably about 16 as well!) and pulled it off the shelf at random and it was one of those that just felt right my hands. Holy crap I had no idea what I was in for! SO good!! I had no idea it was a sequel until years later. 💕
The best cozy Fantasy I've ever read : Sorcery of thorns.
Girl grows up in a magical library and can communicate with the books.. yes please
Also.. the wayward children series... Couldn't agree more. ❤️❤️
Just finished "The Ocean at the End of the Lane" in one sitting today. Absolutely LOVED it! I feel like I can always count on Lexi to give us some SOLID recommendations❤️
I’m so glad you loved it too Dorothy!!!! 🥹❤️❤️❤️
So many great books! 💕 I love Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman and The Hobbit!
💕 The Song of Achilles is also my favorite book of all time! Listen… I know it’s hyped up a lot, but ACOTAR is so so good especially for those who love Greek mythology due to the inspiration she took from Psyche and Eros’ and Persephone and Hades’ stories
Some of my favorites: maddaddam trilogy by Margaret Atwood, ninth house, jitterbug perfume, dark materials series, Circe, song of Achilles, all the grishaverse books
I have never cried, bawled really as much as I did with TSOA. No other book has ever had the same reaction. I wish I could take a whole class on the Song of Achilles 💕💕💕
The Pillars of the Earth is beyond amazing - top 5 favorite of mine!
Lexi, if you haven't already I highly recommend reading (and then watching) Call Me by Your Name. Its a tear jerker, its a coming of age, it makes you want to live on an italian orchard and appreciate art and history.
Gosh! I just realised that most of the recent books I read are recommended by you and my tbr as well is filled with ur books! 💕💕
I love that you skipped school to reread Pillars of the Earth. So very epic. My favorite book of all time is Tale of Two Cities. The writing is chef's kiss and I love how Dickens can take a cast of characters who seemingly have no connection and spin a story that weaves their lives together - so very human. My favorite adult fiction non-classic would have to be The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher. Every time I read it (and rarely I reread anything, but this...) I ach to write a story that would affect folks like this does me. Love it so much. SAA's Garden Spells is close second and I for sure would recommend that one to you. 🦊💕
Nothing on CZcams cheers me up as watching your channel Lexi, thank you so much for being such a positive, happy person! Xx
Talk Before Sleep by Elizabeth Berg is a serious tear jerker that had me sobbing and immediately getting a copy for my bestie so she could sob as well. 💕
My favorite book so far is Under the Whispering Door. I absolutely loved it!!💕
If you love Every Heart A Doorway, you should try Nora Robert's Dragon Heart Legacy Books, very cozy, little romance, I had a great time. Pair with the audio books if you want the accents 😍
Thank you so much for all these recommendations, Lexi ! My want to read list won't stop growing 💕💕
I absolutely love your videos! I am an extremely avid reader and I am so happy whenever your videos come out! Thank you so much! My personal recommend Wild Beauty by Anne Marie McLemore. It got me out of a reading slump and I felt as though I was actually in the world while I was reading it. It was one of those books where I forgot that I was reading and not actually part of the world. Again, thank you so much for your videos, they make me so happy! 💕💕
Yay! Thank you for taking the time and having the courage to post this! We appreciate you so much!
💕 I’ve read quite a few of these books on your recommendation and they’ve become my favourites as well! If We Were Villains especially is one that I absolutely loved and I’m not sure if I would have picked it up without your recommendation so thank you!
I haven't ready ANY of your favorites and I trust your reading taste so much that I think I now have a very long list of books to read now! You are a literal human ray of sunshine and you have great taste in books! My favorite book of all time is Little Women. The 1st time I read it was when I was in the 4h grade. The book was basically as big as me lol. And I remember falling in love with it and wanting to be just like the March girls. It was the book that made me fall in love with reading. It has such a coziness and whimsy to it and it makes my heart so happy every time I pick it up.
You got it so right on Orquidia Divina stepping into a painting ! Oh my I wrote down all your recommendations I have not read , excellent video 💕
This video led to a long conversation between hubby and I about our favorite books. So many of mine were parts of series, and I loved them in their entirety, not as stand alones, which made it difficult to decide. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.
One of the best thrillers I have ever read was Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. It is NOT for the faint of heart and has several content warning necessary themes with the violence, but it is an incredible thriller.
Your videos honestly never fail to make me smile Lexi, you're just such a ray of sunshine 🌞
Omg thank you so much!! 🥹😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
I loved neon gods but electric idol, omg so so so good!!!!
I read the magician nephew when I was a kid and had no idea what I was reading at the time as far as who wrote it. But it still holds a special place in my heart.
The Keeper of Lost Things & A Tree Grows In Brooklyn are both very good books. 💕
Love Bunny!!!! I had a friend try it and DNF it, but for me it just freaking says something about being a young woman and an outsider and figuring life and society out. It’s hard to put your finger on, but that old feeling - it’s right there.
So many of these are also my faves❤️ or are I want to read them for a while now. Now I'm even more excited to read them. 😁🦊💕
This is the main reason why you're my favorite booktuber, Lexie! Your favorite books are some of my favorite books! Ahhhh 🤩🥰
Literally 6 of these books were already on my tbr! It was great hearing you feel so passionate about them. I only have read 1 on this list 🙈
Pillars of the Earth is one of my all time favorites.
So my TBR list just blow up!! 😜💕 Thank you for all those good books
My favorite book of all time is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
2nd and 3rd place are tied:
Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett
The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep by H.G. Parry
I really loved South of Broad by Pat Conroy. It is the only book I have read multiple times and I enjoy it more each time I read it.❤
💕💕 So agree with the cozy books, those are all my favorites as well. For favorites you didn't mention, the Spellbreaker duology and the Murderbot Diaries I also really love! If you want to cry though, How the Penguins Saved Veronica is also really good.
This was fantastic and made me excited to read and re-read tons of books! It’s so difficult to pick a favorite (as you know, as you had a list of 100 😂), but I adore A Monster Calls, This is How You Lose the Time War, Autobiography of Red, and The Name of the Wind 💕
I so appreciate highly intelligent people who are not too snooty to read middle grade, we need more of these people on CZcams.
One of my favorites is by Cecilia ahern called Rosie Dunne. It was fantastic. Maeve Binchy Tara Road. Even though I’m sure there is a million more! Thanks for your reviews. Really love them!
girl i feel the same about The One! i always recommend it! i ended up watching the TV adaptation but it sadly didn’t follow the book. thanks for all the recs 💖
You always make me so happy and get excited to read more wonderfull books! 💕
So many amazing books here! The Song of Achilles is a book I could not put down when I read it! And Pillars of the Earth is on my tbr for this year! 💕🦊
Again a enjoyable book video that prepared me for the weekend. Thank you 💕
Most of these books are also my favourites of all time.. probably because you were the one to recommend them to me to begin with and when you recommend them I fall in love with the books before I've even read them 😂 you just recommend the best books and clearly we both just have very similar (good) taste lol.
Started reading An Unkindness of magicians on your recommendation. Loving it so far. Needless to say, I love your channel🥰🥰
lexi! if you love portal fantasy, i highly recommend "the ten thousand doors of january" by alix e. harrow. it is just such a beautiful story all about portals to other worlds and the effect that has on not only our world, but the other worlds they lead to.
This is on my TBR.
@@aamnahere6250 i hope you enjoy it! it's so good
I agree! Such a good book
💕 favorite book of mine when I was younger is my side of the mountain. So many of these books on your list are on my want to read list.
BEST BOOK HAUL EVER!! Love it 📚📖❤️🤍💕💕🤍📚📖📙📖📖❤️📚🤍💕🤍📚❤️📖📙📖📚🤍💕💕💕💕📚❤️❤️📖📙📖❤️🤍💕💕💕🤍📚❤️📚🤍🤍❤️📖📙❤️📚🤍💕🤍📚❤️📖📖❤️💕💕
I have read some of these but I really need to read the rest! I love having a reference video for your fave books 🦊🦊🦊🦊
Love all the recommendations. I need to go to a bookstore now! 💕
Was desperately waiting for this video ! Iam gonna read them all super soon ! Lysm lexii ❤❤❤❤
LYSM tooooo
a lot of your recs have made it onto my goodreads list! 💕
💞I have sooo many favorite books, it would be impossible to pick one. Thank you for all of the wonderful book recommendations!
I have read 11 of these and they are great choices! Almost all of the rest are on my TBR. 💕
The thriller I've read that I really liked was Pretty Things by Janelle Brown, and that book inspired me to write my first thriller novel that I finished last year. As for favorites...The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schawb and The Death of Jane Lawrence by Catlin Starling. Those blew me out the water and became my favorites 💕
Love this list and so excited for a classics list! Also have you read Wicked Beauty? I found the plot so engaging (more than the first two) and the spice was next level!
The Ocean at the End of the Lane and Neverwhere are two of my favorite books ever! Especially listening to the audio books!
There are so many books on this list that I've read, or have on my TBR shelf, because of your recommendations, Lexi. The House in the Cerulean Sea, Neon Gods, Song of Achilles, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, The Secret Society of Irregular Witches, The Unhoneymooners, and The Midnight Library are books that I don't think I ever would have found if it wasn't for you. I also have The One and Legends & Lattes on my TBR shelf waiting to be picked up because of you. I thank you for that, my friend 🥰
In terms of my favourite books of all time, there are a lot, so I won't name them all but some that pop into my head, right away, are "Memoirs of a Geisha", "The Da Vinci Code", "The Client", "Gone With the Wind", "The Forgotten Home Children", "The Storyteller", and "The House in the Cerulean Sea".
I've read the song of Achilles and I looooovvvveeee it
I suggest Where I Can't Follow by Ashley Blooms for that portal vibe. It has a few heavy topics but is a beautiful little book. 💕
Yassss for The Song of Achilles! I read it last summer & I swear it kept me sane through a really rough time. Then broke me because that ending… ooof! I’ll always have a special okie in my heart for that book because it got me back into reading after not doing much of it for a couple years 💕 Also I just finished Finlay Donovan is Killing It last night. Tbh I wasn’t sure I was going to finish it because it was so ridiculous but it sucked me in & now I can’t wait for the 2nd book 😍 Especially with that ending…
Nice 👍😄 I love your cozy picks. i remember trying a few of your recomendations and just loving it. Especially green glass house. Lol you kept talking about it and I was like screw it I am reading it! &loved it
Also I have read The House in the Cerulean Sea like 6 times. I just love that book so much. Side note: I kinda wish we got to know the Yeti kid. :D
Can't wait to try the rest. I really wanna read the legends of latte one. I had that on my list since it first came out. Hell before it.
Brilliant vlog, honestly you could have kept it at over an hour. We definitely would have watched. A few gems in there I haven’t read and are definitely going on my tbr. My recent reads I’ve loved are Belladonna by Adalyn Grace and The invisible life of Addie LaRue by Victoria Schwab omg my favourite’s ❤❤
If you loved Pillar of the Earth (so did I) a mini series was filmed years ago with Eddie Redmayne. It is fantastic to see the book brought to life!
I had no idea "cozy fantasy" was a category, but apparently it's one of my favorites as the books you mentioned are all five-star reads for me. Definitely interested in checking out a lot of the other titles you mentioned in your other categories - thank you!
I just bought If We Were Villains this past weekend! I am excited to read it!!
💕love this video. So many books on my tbr now
The One was my first book by John Marrs and I had to read more of his work immediately after. He's now an auto-buy for me!
💕I love “To Kill A Mockingbird” & more recently, “Remarkably Bright Creatures “ ….. both great books in different ways 💕
Also if you like Neon Gods you should try reading "That time I got drunk and saved a demon" or if you don't mind something darker try reading Hook! It's a reimagined twist on peter pan, Wendy and captain hook.
Best magical realism children’s book- No Flying In The House
Best underrated book about friendships- Tully- Paulina Simmons
Best beautiful romantic summer fling- Call Me By Your Name
Best new fantasy- A Taste of Iron and Gold
Best fantasy series- The Dark Tower-Stephen King
💕
💕
💕 a few of my favorites are : the Hobbit, Nevermoor and Anne of Green Gables 💕
💕🦊 Picking a favorite book is so hard. I'm still getting to know my reading taste so I feel like my favorites are yet to come. I love books with layers. The book that I've been calling my favorite for a while is Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
💕Thanks for sharing your favs with us!
💕 ahh yay The House In The Cerulean Sea is also in my top favorites. Some more are A Curse So Dark and Lonely, Delicates by Brenna Thummler, and The Secret Garden on 81st St by Ivy Noelle
I love that you skipped school to read a book!!! My cousin and I skipped school to watch the Price is Right! LOL I was so excited to read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo...and for me, it was so disappointing. I felt like I was reading it just to finish it. I do believe it was such a tragic love story, in so many ways but I just found it difficult to stay invested in. My top favorite book ever... and one that will DEFINITELY leave you in tears... Cooking for Picasso. OHHHH MYYYY GOOODDNESSS.. It was amazing. I think you will truly love it!
💕yay!! I read Bunny because you recommended it in another one of your videos.
I read once upon a river for the second time this fall and it had me hoocked yet again.
I’m currently reading Song of Achilles right now. Loving it so far. I’m about 50% into it.
Hey, first off I love your bookish content...you just make me happy every time you come on and do any video. Your energy always puts me into a good mood so thanks so much for that. Also, second I looked up your bookclub on goodreads and was super excited to be part of it, but feel slightly confused about the discord. If anyone else has an answer that would be great as well.
Oh hey thanks! I don’t actually have a current book club on goodreads! I had a book club about 3ish years ago with one of my friends on CZcams and we had a goodreads group but that’s been inactive for a while now I’m sorry about that! The discord is just a perk for my patreon and I do have 2 book clubs as part of the patreon as well. I hope that helps!
💕I am basing this on how many times I go back and read it for the sheer joy…Anne of Green Gables. And By the way, the Netflix Anne with an E is wonderful 💕💕
My favorite book is too hard to narrow down! But I love the Gone series by Michael Grant and The Light in Hidden Places by Sharon Cameron. 💕💕
Watership Down is my favorite book of all tIme.
I loved The House in the Cerulean Sea and Legends and Lattes. 💕
Just finished "Run Riley Run" by Jason Diggle - Wow - Second book I've read from this author. "Queen of Diamonds" was awesome too - but I think Riley just pips it. On to the next one...
💕 Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keys is one of my most favorite books of all time!! The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon also ranks up there as well as The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury. I really enjoyed seeing your list and hope to give a few of them a read this year.
I cannot thank you enough for recommending If We Were Villains to me.
I have never read something as great as that.
The Giver By Lois Lowry is one of my favorite books of all time. It definitely made an impression on me in 8th grade and I've read it sooo many times since.
Susanna Clarke I enjoyed it and the cover is outstanding! Plus Bunny omg so unique weird and love that ❤️💕💕❤️📚📚❤️💕📖📙📙📙📖📖❤️📚📚🤍📚❤️💕📖💕❤️📚🤍📚💕💕❤️📖📖📙📖💕💕❤️📚🤍🤍❤️💕📖📖📙📖❤️📚🤍🤍🤍
You absolutely have to check out T Kingfishers older books. She has alot of fairytale retellings that are all sooo good with the same vibes!
If you haven't already, you should read the 10,000 doors of January! Wonderful portal fantasy and very much focused on the doors
I love the Wayward Children series so much ❤️ It doesn't get talked about enough
😂😂 weird is the ONLY way to describe Bunny but yes 100% the best kind of weird 😄
A new favourite of mine is the Uncensored version of Dorian Gray 💕💕
OMG! All these books are my favorites too love them all ❤️💕❤️📖📚📚📚📚❤️💕❤️📚🤍🤍📚❤️❤️📙📙💕📖📚🤍🤍📚❤️❤️📚📚❤️💕📙📙💕❤️📖📚🤍🤍🤍📖❤️❤️📖📚📚📖❤️💕💕❤️📚🤍🤍🤍
💕 and... my neverending tbr growd some more. Love your chanel
Such great recommendations ❤
Since you like nexus worlds so much, you absolutely must read Lost in the Moment and Found, the most recent Wayward Children book.
So many more books to read!!💕
💕 my favorite book is “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini! However, I just finished “Nothing to see here” by Kevin Wilson and I think you would love it!! The audiobook is the way to go with this read!
The Pillars of the Earth and Slaughterhouse Five and Seven Husbands are on my favorite list as well…great choices….I also loved Bunny….I’ll check out some of the others mentioned!
If you are looking for an amazing cozy fantasy / mystery series, I HIGHLY recommend that you read Curse the Day by Annabel Chase. They are very short books as well.
