I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video, I will tell you what happened on the seven-hundred-seventy-fifth day of the war.
Day 775: Apr 08
Today, there are a lot of updates from the Liman direction.
Here, Russians have been continuously assaulting Ukrainian positions in an attempt to reach the Ukrainian settlements along the east side of the Zherebets River. Moreover, Russians have increased the number and size of mechanized assaults in recent days.
As mentioned last time, the reason why Russian forces are trying to take control of these settlements is to cross the Zherebets River and have a clear path to attack Liman, which plays a key role as a logistics and supply hub for any party that controls it.
In particular, Russian forces recently conducted an unsuccessful heavily reinforced mechanized assault east of Terny. Recently released geolocated footage shows Ukrainian forces repelling the reinforced Russian mechanized assault with FPV drones, artillery, land mines, and anti-tank guided missiles.
Before the departure of the convoy, Russian forces attempted to deploy a TOS-1 thermobaric artillery system to strike the Ukrainian positions, however, it was detected and eliminated in time. A Russian source later stated that the highly developed Ukrainian air reconnaissance capabilities severely complicate Russian offensive operations in this direction.
The video footage begins with a reconnaissance drone's early sighting of the column.
The column consisted of 6 armored vehicles advancing from the Zhytlivka area, of which at least the first two were tanks. As seen later, the leading tank had a bulk set of electronic warfare equipment attached to it, tied with ropes, and then mounted on a wooden pallet. The images show various electronic warfare modules and antennas on different frequencies, as well as many batteries and a generator to power the set.
Unfortunately for the Russians, all this alleged protection was of little help, as already in the approximation, Ukrainian forces achieved to hit the first tank.
Moments later, the rest of the vehicles also were hit by all kinds of weaponry, including FPV drones, artillery, and ATGMs. In the following stages, the lack of coordination of the column became evident, as some of the vehicles tried to move forward while others tried to start the retreat. As a result, out of the six vehicles, only one managed to escape the carnage. An armored vehicle came later to try to save infantrymen who had managed to survive but were also destroyed.
The damaged first tank, which still had all the electronic warfare equipment attached, continued advancing until it finally had to stop just next to the remains of another armored vehicle previously destroyed. The tank crew finally left and tried to flee the area. Incidentally, this damaged Russian tank was later repaired by Ukrainian forces onsite and was successfully driven to the Ukrainian positions in Terny. The entire electronic warfare assembly was recovered and is currently being analyzed.
In the following days, more geolocated videos appeared showing the destruction of additional Russian equipment, including another TOS-1 thermobaric launcher, which was hit by night vision FPV drones. An additional tank was also destroyed. It was, in a very unusual way, carrying on top up to 24 infantry soldiers. The tank hit a land mine, and seconds later, the surviving soldiers began a desperate withdrawal.
As we can see on the map, the Russian forces are trying to carry out mechanized assaults to reach Terny at any cost, although the created salient, through which they have to advance, poses them significant difficulties. First of all, due to the high activity of Ukrainian reconnaissance drones and the considerable distance in the open field from the convoy's starting point, any mechanized assault is detected well in advance, allowing the preparation of numerous firing forces for the approaching convoy. In addition, by exposing the flanks, the advancing Russian forces can be attacked from multiple directions, making the convoy's mission virtually suicidal. As an example, no less than six different units of the Ukrainian army participated in the attack on this convoy. To make matters worse, analysis of data in the previous days reveals a significant Russian lack of artillery preparation and drone strikes over the Ukrainian positions they intended to attack, no doubt as a result of weeks of intense Ukrainian counter-battery and drone activity in the area.

Ukraine should be supplied with an airforce-worth of fighter aircraft, such as the F-16s and longer-range precision munitions, such as ATACMS (more of them, and the longest-range variants should be provided]), and the russian military facilities inside of russia should be considered legitimate targets. It is worth noting that support for military aid to Ukraine in America is over 80% and increasing. This is because Americans can see that not only is aiding Ukraine the ethical thing to do, it is the practical thing as well. America has spent only approximately 6% of our military budget so far to help Ukraine. However, over half of the russian army has been destroyed. This is a tremendous bargain by any measure! In addition to this, when russia is defeated in this war, their barbaric ideology of imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a more peaceful, stable place for many generations - as well as preventing a new arms race in the region. That is why billions spent today saves trillions tomorrow. The vast majority of Americans understand this. Americans also want to see Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. This is why Americans are correct to support giving military aid to Ukraine.
Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are a US citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war-winning quantities, and soon. The sooner we give Ukraine the weapons it needs to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be over, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website. One can also google for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one's desire known.

Some countries like Germany are sending shells from their own stocks already to be replenished by these new shells. These are already at the frontlines. Shells from the Czech initiative should begin to arrive this month, to ramp up before the shells from the Estonian initiative (hopefully) begin to arrive later this year too. Coupled with increased production in the EU, this might be enough to solve shell hunger for at least 2024.

Many of us are working to aid Ukrainians or sending money, and many of us are obviously unhappy with the French government for inaction. However far right billionaires virtually control massive TV channels in France, and they are trying to get a racist, conservative pro-Russian party elected (the FN/RN financed by Russian banks and ideologically authoritarian, like Putin). This incentivizes Macron to slow down the rhetoric regarding Ukraine, to appeal to this electorate, and he prefers to do things quietly.
France should obviously do more to help materially and militarily. A majority of French people understand the importance of helping Ukraine resist and that it is the right thing to do (in a national poll for February, 44% were for continuation of aid without delay, and 32% more wanted to increase significantly the aid, with a total of 76% wanting to actively support Ukraine).
Macron's comments on sending advisors created backlash because nobody likes Macron, but later many other voices defended the remarks and the idea within public debate. Like always, it's important to distinguish between a people and its leaders, even when these appear popular.

It’s shameful to hear that Ukraine continues to have artillery and shortages 😔.
I agree, for the amount of $$$ pumped into their economy over the last 3 yrs, Ukraine could have built its own Defense producing industry, and it is a whole lot easier moving ore to plants than it is to move F-16's to the front. All that political capital spent trying to get a few F-16's, a few Abrams, a few ATCMs, a few HIMARs, when they could have been spending that capital convincing people like Warren Buffet to invest in Ukrainian defense industry using both public and private monies.
I also think countries like Germany, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, etc that always want to critique the US need to be looking into the mirror on why they aren't spending way more than the Russians on defense, why they aren't investing way more into this war, why they are incapable of being the defense production for Ukraine, much in the same way the US was for them during WWII.
I am not ashamed of America, even if I believe we are being short-sighted and failing to communicate to our citizens the priorities properly. The US still has done a lot to help Ukraine.

It doesn't work this way in the real world. I think there are a lot of books you should read if you think that the situation is remotely the same now as it was in 39-45, and that EU is in the same place as USA was at the time.

There are 6 plants under 1 company producing artillery shells in Germany, and they are limited to under 700K per year of productivity. This is after they spend $140M in production capability upgrades. This isn't a serious effort, but rather just an action to qualify as doing something. I can take this same perspective on Ukraine. BTW, war is always a challenge to production, as every country that gets attacked is bombed and still required to produce munitions for their war effort...Germany in 44 was bombed like no other in history, yet it still managed to produce some munitions for its war effort. So being bombed by a few drones and missiles isn't a good enough reason why Ukraine isn't mass producing its own supply. That is before we talk about Ukraine setting up production facilities in Romania Poland or Germany...where its production wouldn't be affected by Russian bombing.
There is no getting around the fact that everyone didn't take this Russian threat seriously and failed to prepare and to make matters worse, they keep failing at properly valuing the danger and need for action.
@robertevans2450 There hasn't actually been that much money sent to Ukraine. It's mostly been equipment the Allies already had in storage sent over. This plan would require sending them much more than we have by this point, negating your original premise. Also, much of what money has been sent has been for reconstruction, soldiers' salaries and the like.

Awesome freaking news. And allow me to say that I learned this morning (Monday) that Congress "could" vote on the aid package for you as early as tomorrow (Tuesday). If it is approved I truly hope it is sent to you ASAP. I also hope that France is sending Ukraine needed equipment as we speak. Not totally sure of what they are doing, but I know they want to send shells/equipment. Those were needed yesterday. Keep your fingers crossed Congress comes through.

If it does actually eventually get created then it has to get voted on in the Senate and then go back to the House where Moscow MAGA Mike will probably just table it.

@@jebes909090 firstly, the US signed the Budapest memorandum. And I hope it, unlike Russia, which is also a signatory, still honors the obligations it undertook.
Secondly, if the US - or any other western country - does not support UA, it will eventually find itself in position of having no allies, no credibility, and having to fight the enemy directly.

I was a Republican voter for most of my life. A few years ago I started voting more for Independent candidates and the occasional Democrat. This might be the first time I have ever voted for a Democrat for President. I'm not a huge Biden fan but the alternative looks unacceptable.
Have I changed or has the Republican Party changed? The GOP that I knew would never lick the boots of a Communist dictator. Did Ronald Reagan say to Gorbachev "Tear down this wall!" or did he say, "Go ahead and invade anyone you want."? I think the answer is obvious.
Biden is not the strongest DEMOCRAT but he is what is available. HC was a female vying for the POTUS position and she never would have brought the mistakes of Rumpledforeskin. HC did actually get more votes from the people(seems nobody really wanted Origins Orange in the WH. but he also got in by the antiquated voting system of Electoral College votes(which might as well be (the British House of Nobles) as their vote went against the vote for the popular candidate. HC won by 3million votes in 2016.
Many Dems felt like they didn't have any choice...so many did not vote at all.

BLEW HIS FREAKING DOORS OFF by 7 million votes with an even weaker candidate called Joe Biden and COVID HANGING heavy in the air, they voted by MAIL. OLD JOEY is proving to be wise. Even Bernie Sanders hung up his election hopes just so the Dems BEAT the Maga Republicans. That was the only chance for the country. Donny said this was the MOST SECURE ELECTION EVER HELD (and yet he is complaining it wasn't secure)??just because he LOST?

Are Russian troops being paid well? I recall stories from Russian troops leaving Afghanistan complaining that they’d not been paid for months.
They are being paid in lead.
Some are, some aren't. And you get a chance of collecting your pay if you're alive. Same for the families - those can get the benefits if their man is considered kia, but many of those are listed as mia/awol and good luck then :)

There’s also get a bonus for a combat wound and their family gets a good 20k or so in case they get KIA.
Anecdotally, them becoming suddenly wealthy led to the restaurants jacking up prices in the nearby city of Rostov where a lot of wounded soldiers are sent to recover.

It was facial recognition software on UKRAINIAN phones who could not only recognize the face, but it was the Ukrainians that contacted family members to say where the body was. Rusky did not care about those that died, and left them in the fields to rot....thus never saying he is KIA so death benefits go to the family.

There isn't a single thing that would have made a Dem, Ind, or Conservative be a MAGA that is somehow no longer a principle that can be denounced due to Ukraine. MAGA was against the over-investment in Europe before Ukraine, so all that has changed is proving MAGA's point that Europe doesn't care about Europe as much as the US cares about Europe with its corruption-laden kickbacks to US politicians. Let us not ignore that in 2023 budget dispute that first put the Republicans against more spending in Ukraine was the Dems denial of oversight to be legislated into law on how all the monies were getting spent. A simple offering of a legit oversight opens up a great deal of spending support by Conservatives.
