I feel like this could have been a "where in the world do these international fry dishes come from?" episode
Indeed. It was a bit of a missed opportunity.
I'm sure they know that lol
Nnaahh
They probably chose not to because these dishes are restaurant specific, not country/regionally specific.
it could also be an idea of a "Will it loaded fry?" episode.
We need a "Rhett talking about the time he had real haggis in Scotland and how it wasn't that bad" compilation lol
agreed
I wholeheartedly concur.
I am in halfhearted agreement with this.
Link turned into Bubba from Forrest Gump for a.second describing his favorite shrimp dishes.
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Being Belgian I can confirm NO ONE wants sprouts on their fries. I will personally go to Bruges next week and ask them WHY.
Beef stew (even the vegan version) is a great combo with fries though.
I can also confirm we all expect there to be extra fries next to the container, this is the best thing about it. If it just all fits into the container, we'd be extremely disappointed and would send it back.
Im from Bruges and i can tell you, sprouts on fries is not common. When you order it in a restaurant, you'll get a salad on the side but when you order it in a "frituur" (fry place) you will not see any salad or sprouts most of the time.
@@Aaron-ww3ov Yes, the only time you would see something green in a 'frituur' would be if they serve Sprite
@@jannej2351 😂 FACTS
@@jannej2351 you're forgetting the pickle on a Bicky Burger. 😋
Link knows ever'thing there is to know 'bout the shrimpin' bidness.
It was cracking me up because I just rewatched Forest Gump last night!
link saying "hi" really made my day and i'm not sure why hahaha
Rhett Said "Hi" to me
When
Link: "Deliciously British...those two words don't go together."
In the case of Tom Hardy, they certainly do. 😉
I've also been to Scotland and had haggis, with whisky gravy, it was really nice. After I returned home to Australia I asked my mum to make it again as she is Scottish, she sourced a butcher who supplied it and she did make it :)
I hope they couldn’t read the credits too bcuz Indo,Ke,Be & Glasgow were pretty big hints lol Oh, I just noticed it literally says “Belgium Eatery- Bruges” on the tray. That explains a lot 😂 Either way they all looked pretty good
I was just about to say the photo credits gave it away. I thought Rhett definitely saw the first one lol
That must be added in post production
Ah, I was a little confused as to why the crew were laughing at that bit.
What? I don't understand a damn thing you just wrote.
I was looking for this comment
Halloumi is so common in the UK.
Really a staple in so many menus.
How about a reverse(itized) taste test from an alternate universe? Fries made of sauce and sauce made of fries? Or pizza dough made of toppings and toppings made of dough? (Taco) Shell made of filling and filling made of shell? And then of course something that has to hurt just a little like sausage casing made of sausage and the inside made of casing?
Interesting
I Don't know how many Panamenians who live in Panama watch GMM but as one of them I'm going to say that the plants that Rhett said were from this region are basically everywhere here😂 Rhett knows stuff😂
It said Belgium on whatever the fries were sitting on. Lol
Link turning into Bubba talking about all his shrimp loves🤣 boiled shrimp.. fried shrimp.. shrimp & potatoes😁
Link, you should make a restaurant called Shrimp on Things! 🤙
Stop. Because I want it.
The link at the end of the main episode took me to Fridays more, and I was confused for a second 😂
Please do a will it loaded fry episode!!
French fries are actually from Belgium.
Im so proud to be Canadian, and proud of our dish called Poutine
100% agree. And if anyone has a problem with poutine they got a problem with me and I suggest they let that one marinate.
Damn right!!
I agree that Canada is great, but Poutine is making a mess of Ukraine in my honest opinion
I've only been to Canada once, in Vancouver which I know is not the home of poutine, but I did go to a small poutine place and really enjoyed it.
Yea when Rhett took at jab about poutine in the last one I almost got mad
"We're Poutin' it up!" 😆
Tartar sauce on fries is my absolute favorite. I gave up ketchup entirely for tartar sauce when I can get it.
Yay! Come to London. But you must visit the South West, too! Also, Link bringing his Forrest Gump game with all the "shrump" 😆
I'm in the UK, I love heinz oxtail soup over oven cooked steak fries
Link having a full on Bubba Gump moment 😂
U ain't lying 😂😂😂
I worked at a pub style restaurant here in Manitoba Canada called Tavern United where we served an item called 'Irish nachos' which was literally any nacho toppings available melted onto waffle fries. I still prefer regular nachos.
Totchos are delicious! Using tater tots or rounds helps with the crispness. Sonic has had em but super easy to make at home. Cheese, bacon, Jalapeños and green onion.
Yeah! My bf and I love totchos! Honestly didn’t know it was a thing haha
Can some English Chefs please go and invade the Mythical Kitchen with some banging British cuisine?, I feel R&L are always hating on our food because of a negative experience they had while over here at one of the many disappointing Slug & Lettuce "restaurants", (which is understandable LOL).
Get some contemporary UK street food and delicious country fare up in the Mythical place! because in UK if you know where to look we have some amazingly delicious food, away from the standard "go-to" English foods everyone thinks of.
I can’t believe they went to a Slug and Lettuce. 🤣
@@JungianHeights I know right? 😂
I live in London and I knew immediately where those halloumi fries were from!! I work round the corner
The haggis, peppercorn gravy and mozzarella fries from Tophskis Glasgow are phenomenal. I've had them loads and they are soooo good!
The big thing missing from this episode is having the dishes there in front of them to taste. But at that point it becomes more worth it to suit up Chase the cartographer and set up the dartboard.
Im from Panama, I think Rhett thinks too highly of my country haha happy being mentioned :D
I love your shows. I watch them every day. You guys are amazing.
In Australia we call fries, chips. Unless they are from maccas.
You guys are so silly
Sensible. Actual pomme frites are like match sticks not what Americans call French Fries. Here in the UK we've got multiple grades of cut fried potato and fries are definitely not chips.
In NZ we call them maccas fries or chips whichever we say first
I literally only call them fries while ordering. To other people, it's "I got medium chips"
@@viiperbiite I’m originally from nz.. and vinegar on my chips is the best!
When I saw the picture of the halloumi fries, I was instantly reminded of the ones I got at a place in Camden Market when I was last in England (I live in Canada).
I’ve just looked the picture up… and that picture is of the same fries I had from the same place. So delicious.
@ 4:34 Link communicates something from his future past to those of us in the past present.
In Bruges is an amazing film. Great little story with an excellent cast.
Grew up with grilled haloumi or just cold salty haloumi in pitas. Watermelon on the side. Summer in the 80-90s 💙
I'm with Link... Shrimp in, on, next to, nearby anything, and I will order it!
You just offended almost every Canadian by saying that those haggis fries looked like poutine 😱 was not even close. 😆
Theres more to the UK than just London.... We do camping so well over here, you SHOULD have your camping trip here!
I can understand wanting to spend several days in London though, even if it isn't the entirety of the visit.
London is the best part of the U.K.
don’t go up north it’s always cold and rainy. Plus no one has a job so they all are moody Scrooge’s.
As far as I know the camping trip is gonna be at a naturally carbonated spring in mexico
Agreed. Sooooo much to see in our little island!
Hahahaha what a joke
Oh man if you guys go to London England you well love it there. Just be careful of the rain season. Other than that it’s really something! I obviously went once both the best time I ever had and the scariest. Mostly because I went alone. But the architecture, history, art, the people are amazing. I stayed at the Wellington did some tours bought a few things to remember that trip.
In Bruges is somewhere in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I love it.
im from nova scotia, canada...the moment where link forgot the word for poutine made me laugh so hard...by the way...did you know that disco fries are basically the same thing in america ive been told......
In the US I've had poutine but never heard of disco fries
@@josharntt Really? Must be some type of regional thing I was told about. I'm glad poutine isnt as obscure as I was lead to believe!! its soooo good haha
Disco fries are a NJ diner staple. Fries with cheese and gravy.
Please come to Singapore! Been a fan ever since you started in CZcams!
I’m from the UK and I’ve never heard of Alibaba restaurant. However, halloumi fries are very popular here in lots of places. Yum 🤤
That should be the next 'Will it...', there should be a episode about poutine!
At 4:35, did Link feel someone up through the screen? I blushed a little. 😂
???
I really be up till 3am to watch the episodes its crazy😭
Please come to London and do a show, I'd love to see you guys! xxx
well to be fair, no one can really agree where the french fry originated... theres like 4 places, the UK, France, Belgium, spain
Same with alot of other foods, people probably had similar foods and traveled from place to place, sharing the idea or recipe. No way of knowing, there probably wasn't just one original idea
@@katc2040 that is also true
It's been proven Belgium countless times
You should collab with josh and Ollie from Korean Englishman and jolly
I would definitely wanna try each and every one of these, even the haggis one.
Good mythical morning wherever you are …… always watch Rhett and link every morning and every evening 💕💕
London is like New York, but with class, Rhett
Corn tortilla chips are amazing by themselves the flour ones are the only that beg to be topped
Y'all should totally Do
International Fries?
🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟
Taste Test Next With the Darts ....
For those complaining about UK food, remember the UK invented the apple pie not the USA.
it’s ironic, but personally, sweet potato/key lime/pumpkin/pecan all come to mind first as American before apple pie cause they have the thick filling and no top crust thing going on. maybe it’s an age thing. I’m also not a stateside American.
@@fatratty2876 y'all still have mushy peas as a staple dish
@@the1whereIwatch That is NOT ironic.
could for sure find those haloumi fries around here (Queensland, Australia)
Saying about when you go back to London, I reccomend the restaurant Olle BBQ! When I go to museums I always go to Olle's.
Good mythical morning from Australia 🇦🇺
I dunno. Feels more like evening here in qld 🤔😉
Thanks for the Omaha, NE shoutout Link! Glad that you know us beasties exist here lmao
If yall go to London, you need to do a collab with Jolly. They have the same energy as gmm.
God no
I love how they are talking about Haloumi like it’s such an exotic thing!
"arizona" 😂😂😂
I think you should visit outside of London to see the countryside such as the Lake District or Isle of Mull. There are other cities to visit as well
Actually went to the potato bar in Brugge a few years ago. Don’t remember what I got but I remember it being good. Brugge is a cool little city
Im from Indiana, but I was in London for the first time at the same time they were just by pure coincidence. I kept thinking about how cool it would have been if we ran into each other lol.
No one dislikes the UK more than Link lol. Cmon our food isn’t that great but the rest of it……
Isn’t that great either 🤣
it just depends what it is.yeah it's not that bad
There are many beautiful parts of the UK. You should leave the city!
UK is just like America, the only good food is from the immigrants
You boys need to try chickie and petes here in NJ if you really love crab and fries that have a dish called crabby fries it's life changing!
Trust me I'm Scottish proper haggis is brilliant 👍
Potatoes as with tortilla are simply a vehicle for toppings !
Of course Link would say D, none of the above…I’m going with Australia 😆
Thank Y’all for being your mythical best
"You want to do the camping trip in London?"
I REALLY want to go to London. Lately, I've been itching at it.
Salmons the best lmao. He clearly hasn’t had good salmon
6:25 I love Links jabs. Rhett picks on Link so much I'm so happy when he says FU under his breath, haha but most of the time Rhett doesn't catch it.
Saw portuguese flag had to watch
In Bruges is a brilliant film!
I live in Omaha and was suprised when Link mentioned us lol
Morning everyone!♥️
I love you guys so much
How, how have they not heard of haloumi fries 🤯🤤
everytime it lands on Gifticality I go back and check to see if rhett moved it lol
I love how they tie in what they're promoting. "Remember our podcast?"
Rhett broil salmon with crab with garlic lemon butter, then fresh lemon. Mild on the garlic. Magnifique!
Good mythical more also it's 4 in the morning
Nope its 3
3 here
8 pm here… in the future
This goes up at midnight this time of year
9:16. It said Belgium eatery in the place Mat
Loaded Tater tots are superior to nachos and loaded fried in every way
this almost turned into a scene from Forrest gump with all the shrimp talk
Link heard sumac and thought the same thing I did about itching haha
Belgian beef stew fries with mayo is like the classic, highly recommend!!
Rhett saying that about salmon blew mind, it's delicious.
I left Singapore last week. Too bad I didn’t see this episode before I left.
I’m North Carolinian born and raised and missed the accent too I attribute it to a lot of British TV as a kid
“The ‘P’ word from Canada” Link made us seem naughty
Don't go to London, stall it to Ireland. Sure ya can camp anywhere here! Also better food and Guinness! And, where else would ya have so many whiskey museums in such close proximity. 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
This made me super curious about those fries made of the firm cheese - haloumi?
Got the Glasgow one because I am from Glasgow and the Singapore one based on nothing but the spoon type because a local Singapore restaurant here uses the same spoons for their soups.
heyyyyy my stepmom is Indonesian 🇮🇩 and my baby-brother is half Indonesian-American that's cool to see you mention it
In Bruges is a fookin fairy tale town.
