  • 2020 Kawasaki Z H2 Supercharged Streetfighter Product Development Update: Bolt-on Swingarm Extensions Installations Video with Additional Considerations Discussion.
    Bolt-on swingarm extensions are a quick/easy/economical what to safely increase the wheelbase of most motorcycles so as to increase high-speed stability and decrease wheelies for quicker E.T.s at the drag strip - BONUS… stretched bikes look MUCH COOLER!
    Now, before we hear from the “OMG…why-Why-WHY would you ruin the look and handling of such a fantastic machine?!" Gallery, please remember this video is not intended for you. We will address riding a 220+ RWHP sportbike with a 57” wheelbase soon enough.
    For those interested in the benefits of a longer wheelbase, regardless of which make/model you ride, please watch on as Brock not only discusses the proper installation techniques in regard to bolt-on extensions, but he also outlines additional considerations to address while doing so. Having all of your “ducks in a row,” as they say can help alleviate frustration as well as additional downtime.
    We hope you enjoy: 2020 Kawasaki Z H2 Supercharged Streetfighter Product Development Update: Bolt-on Swingarm Extensions Installations Video with Additional Considerations Discussion.

    Hello! Brock , i would like to clarify a thing about the Loctite you are using ( i do not think that the blue bottle is pure brand Loctite but anyway )
    the thread locker is an anaerobic adhesive that applies in drops to the threads of fasteners. It then polymerizes into a thermosetting plastic which blocks the threaded assembly. These products can only be used to fix metal to metal.
    it will only hardened in absence of air and metal oxidation, you can leave the liquid on the table and it wil not hardened.That is why the bottle seam half full when you buy it , it needs air to stay liquid , also a good practice is to not touch the bolt with the tip of the bottle since any metal particule will activate it , just let the drop fall on the thread.
    As for the red color you need to heat it good to soften it to be able to remove the bolt or nut.

    I have been installing some of your products and enjoying the videos. When i was installing the extensions on the 2020 H2 they came without instructions and at the time i could not find anything online. I spent some time and removed the stock brake stay because the tire was extremely close to the stock brake stay and i was concerned that as the tire heats and expands it could possible rub or someone could decide to run a wider tire or tire with a different profile and it probably would make contact. I was trying to make the safest decision and talked to the customer about it first. The owner of the bike said it was for track use only and he had no intention of ever going back to stock wheel base. Once again great videos and some good tips.

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  Před 3 lety

      @Ken, please go to the product in our store. Everything needed to purchase and install are there.We had written instructions the day the extensions went live and a video within a day or two after. Removing the lug is fine as long as the integrity of the swingarm is not hampered. The lug can stay in almost all case and the tire gets narrower as speed increases. If the profile of a particular tire allows it to rub, then the lug needs to be ground down ( we us a 4" Makita disk grinder) until at least 1/8 inch side clearance is obtained. 1/4 can usually be gained without the need to get into the swingarm material.

      I'm not sure what you mean by "tube" - but if you mean the extensions...they are designed to provide control against wheelies as well as enhance stability at high speeds. The only disadvantage would be a reduced quickness in handling due to the increased wheelbase length. I hope this helps.

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  Před 3 lety

      This is a VERY difficult crack, as built in tothe Euro 5 specs. There has been a bit of progress on other similar models, so hopefully that knowledge will help speed things along a bit. Please remember, the H2 took over a year- and it was not Euro 5...

    • @BrockDavidson

      Optimally, a means to tune the fuel for smooth drivability (PCV/Bazzaz etc..) is prefered. That said, it's so pig rich at high revs, no damage would be incurred at WOT.

    Would a UK spec ECU not clear and remove a lot of the restrictions in the tune? I know that US litre bike ECU'S are heavily restricted compared to the UK and dropping a US ecu into a gsxr1000 of 04 absolutely fucks with the power.
    I know that the throttle limiters require cracking the ECU to get round but SOME of it can be dealt with by ecu shopping ime. Just DON'T buy a French bike's ECU as they are locked to 100bhp.
    The gentleman's limit is done via gearing generally I know the 2nd gen hayabusa you could get a true 200 via a 3 tooth change in the rear.

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  Před 3 lety

      I wish it were so easy as to be able to drop a UK ECU in. Unfortunately, the UK immobilizer key prevents this.

    • @jediknight1294
      @jediknight1294 Před 3 lety

      @@BrockDavidson dam so you'd need a UK immobiliser, the key and the ignition barrel parts and having them programmed by a dealer in the US? that's really annoying.
      Why are the US bikes restricted it's really odd, federal law? Compliance with something in CARB? The UK it tends to be manufacturer dependant, I know the 1st gen rocket 3 is locked to 140bhp and 140mph by triumph but thats fairly trivial to bypass and with airbox replacemebt and new pistons 220bhp at the wheel is fairly easy.
