Great and informative video! Looking forward to more great content.
Hey man! So glad this channel exists! Can't wait to hear more about the family name ✊️
Thanks Jamie! We hope to produce a few videos soon!
Wow that's so cool you weaved that tartan yourself!
wow! i admire your dedication!
Very cool to see the weaving. Could you cover the symbol that is on the Mackay Country monuments throughout Mackay country?
That is a great question. Are you referring to the swans embraced, encircled by a knot design? If so, I am not entirely sure. However, I can say that the Farr Stone (about 700 AD), situated in the churchyard of the Strathnaver Museum near Bettyhill has two swans embracing very similar to the stone tablets at the four corners of Mackay Country. It is possible that when they put those stones up they put the swans as a nod to the Farr Stone.
Yes, the encircled swans. Thank you for your hypothesis!
Hi, I am a Mackey descendent in KS, any chance your tree has Arch and Penelope in the 1800s?
Good day fellow Mackay clansman! Would you be so kind to share with me the music piece in this video at 2:00. Manu Forti!
I am sorry, I do not know the name of this music. It was some generic "celtic" music that was added for background. I wish I could be of more help.
no worries mate@@clanmackaysocietyofscotlan1311
The weathered style would've been worn by Jacobite Mackay's if we had any Jacobites 😂😂😂😂
