Joy was spot on! The Eagles defense out played the 49ers defense. The Eagles still put up TDs, not field goals! They didn't run up the score once they knew that they had the game in hand. They ran the ball to protect Hurts for the SB.

As a eagles fan , I seen Clowney knock out Wentz , the first series of a playoff game , at the time he played for the Seahawks, the Eagles backup was Josh Mc Cowan who was 38 years old on his 6th team , we lost and know one felt sorry for us , my point this is football it's a grown man's game , and the 49ers has the number 1 defense in the league and they won there previous 12 games with this team and with Reddick you had TE blocking him , that's Shanahan fault , as far as the offense, we ran the ball , with success, Gainwell ,Sanders , Scott ,
Hope Jalen stays healthy in the sb and beyond. I don't want to hear no excuses if he gets hurt. Injuries are a part of every sport , which can be the difference in winning and losing. Players do not go into games trying to injure players; Especially they way they over protect the qbs if you just breath on them. You can get ejected from the game and face fines. SO your statement is false. This is not the 70s and 80s NFL where you can literally cripple someone intentionally.

To me while he did miss some throws, he took care of that ball and took what the defense gave him. He played to win and leaned to what they gave him.

I hear you and Joy has a point. But come on, these "hits" were not jaw dropping". For one, the league has gotten too soft in order to protect players now; concussion's can happen to anyone , knee sprains and ankles, ect,ect.. I am sure Riddick was not going out too purposely "injure" someone. He made a good play on the ball and the unfortunate happened. Especially considering what happened to Hamlin.

We hung 31 points on the #1 defensive. We tied an NFC Championship game record for the most rushing TD's, in a game (4) against the #1 defense. San Fran's bread and butter was their defense and our offensive line man handled them. Where were your stars on defense? Did they show up?

Does everyone forget how great the Niners defenses is normally? The reason we won is their defense in made mistakes and we capitalized on them. But yeah when they were playing as the niners defense of course they were shutting us down just like we shut them down. This was a defensive game on both sides of the ball. The score doesn't look that way but it was.
Someone other than the bias media finally making sense. The score is not indicative of the game. It was tied up and a slug fest for the defenses. The injury to brock was the difference and some questionable penalties(some not all) that gave philiy life. The forth string qb was not beating the eagles. He was horrendous!!!!
The eagles got a ton of favorable calls early in the game which extended drives. Very soft calls in their second scoring drive not to mention the not catch in their first scoring drive that the refs missed. There was nobody throwing the ball out there if every play is a run how do you expect to keep the defense even a bit honest.
@@TheChipiboy none of those calls were wrong. The refs flagged the eagles for more yards early. Niners committed blatant penalties. Their lb literally was throwing punches after the play was dead at one point. Philly was gonna win regardless if purdy wss in, you saw what he did his first drive... gave philly the ball. Eagles were the better team coming in, niners defense made lots of dumb mistakes but none of those flags were wrong
@@brandonmccallum4755 when the niners D was making dumb mistakes the game was already over and they were frustrated about it. you could see some of those penalties being out of frustration and the game was essentially already over at that point. They were playing really good in the first half which was when it was at least a little competitive. After the first half it was all eagles.If purdy hadn't been injured the game would have gone down to the wire and the niners D wouldn't have made those mistakes

In the end, the Eagles offense still had to play the 49ers defense. The 49ers defense wasn't injured. They still could have kept the game closer if they could have stopped the Eagles offense, but they didn't. They allowed 31 points. 21 in the first half. So, in reality, the Eagles' defense did their job, but the 49ers' defense didn't.
I'd like to see how the Eagles defense fares when they spend 82% of the game on the field. 49ers were in constant 3 and outs, their defense had no chance to even catch their breath and also played on short fields with every possession. Look how many yards the defense gave up despite the score line

Jalen Hurts had 121 yards passing that day. The Eagles time of possession was nearly 2x of the Niners. So all things being considered the Niners defense did pretty well for themselves.

The Eagles put up 31 points on the statistically best defense in the NFL. The Niners could only put up 7 points on arguably the 3rd best defense. That about sums it up. The Eagles dominated the line of scrimmage and T.O.P.. A very impressive win in my eyes.

I think it's getting missed that although the Eagles didn't have many flashy plays on offense, they still put up 31 points against the best defense in the league and did it primarily on the ground. Brock Purdy doesn't play defense last I checked, so give the guys some credit for finding a way to still rack up 30+ points. All Purdy would have done is made the final score closer.

People like to ignore that the Eagle's offense put up 31 points against the #1 defense in the league. Rushing TD's at that. SF's defense could have made plays to change the momentum of the game. Instead they made penalties and cheap shots that cost them the game.

The Eagles defense was impressive, from the opening kickoff they were on the QBs head. The way they were playing even if Brock Purdy plays the full game they still lose. And this shady most unbiased Eagles take ever.
Purdy might have lost the game but you can't say that . Sanfransico was getting pressure and covering well also and it was 7-7 when he got hurt purdy also always looks better in the second half then the first. It was a freak injury though. He didnt even fall on the play its just the way his elbow was bent and concussions are weird cuz no matter how good the player feels or how tough they are they're just not allowed back in and thats just determine by your head hitting the ground the actual hit you take is irrelevant. Plus you add the fact that the niners suffered 2 injuries at the QB position long before this game which is why they were in thos position. Why do the eagles get credit for all of that?

Actually the one on Johnson could have been called a roughing the passer call since he landed on top of the qb. Overall, there were no real , oh wow did you see that hit? Those days are long gone in today's NFL. This is not the legion of boom!!!!

Its the 9ers job to protect their guy, them being stuck with no qb isnt an unfortunate accident, it was exactly what the eagles wanted and they made it happen. Cant discredit the eagle for their opponent failing to prepare. Having a TE block the guy second in the league in sacks was a dumb move. 9ers coaching lost them this game.

The 49ers had the #1 defense against the run in particular. The Eagles ran the ball down their throats. The win was impressive to me because it was the two best teams in the nfc and they got destroyed. As Mike Tyson once said, everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth.

Thank You Joy! They played without a QB because the O line couldn't protect them. If Purdy would've played the whole game he would have been more beat up. Our defense only gave up 14 points this post season. They are dominant! Brock Purdy and the niners ran up against the best defense in football. Nick Bosa is good but Reddick is the true defensive player of the year. Blame Shanahan for trying to block Reddick with a tight end.

We faced the biggest test this season and it was just against the 49ers. We not about to talk like chiefs defense is gonna turn into the number 1 defense all of a sudden. We were tested and still whooped on em, the chiefs o line gonna have a long night.

I’m not concerned about the Eagles offense against the Chiefs defense. If you watch the Eagles all year they can play any style of game they win in multiple ways. To still be able to score 31 without your QB performing at his best says a lot as well. This is going to be a classic Super Bowl can’t wait
@@marleycoldburr The problem is Chiefs defense is underrated, talent wise they don't stand out but schematically they do things that confuse a QB and they are actually good at getting to the QB/stopping the run this season, Spags is 1 of those juggernaut defensive coordinators in big games they picked Burrow off 2 times
Reason why offense was off is because Niners D made sure Jalen couldn’t throw the ball but couldn’t stop the Eagles run game. Jalen is gonna throw the ball against the Chiefs

I would agree with you IF the Niners defense wasn't touted as the best defense in football with the most picks in the league. That defense carried them all year, and had to carry them again on Sunday. That didn't happen.
Our defense was amazing, absolutely. But our offense did what it needed to do (4 rushing TD's) against the best rushing defense in the league.

Blame 49ers GM for not having a good back up qb they was a top team all year. they got outplayed. we ran the ball and showed our o-line is better than their d-line.
