I always think that this is the most intersting part of gardening, the planning and the layout, flowers come later. In a previous property I planted 120 trees and shrubs and 55 roses, the local farmer used to laugh at the size of my holes ( gosh that sounded odd ) when I would use dried blood and burnt bone as fertiliser. I had a huge potager laid out in raised squared and a private 'acid' garden paved with arches and full of azaleas and hostas and english roses. Just spent the day planting a 50 foot long border !
I'm exhausted just watching that. What a tremendous thing you have done, Dan. I've put in gardens before, but never on that scale. It is simultaneously the hardest and most rewarding work. Understand completely why you want to finish the new addition to the Jardin l'Anglaise. It is going to look absolutely stunning. Bravo to everyone who has helped create it.
Dan, I remember watching you through the entire Phase 1. You were a very busy feller! I think you love being the landscaper, tree climber, builder, chef, FATHER, farmer, Cheatue owner, etc. You just love to be busy!
