Is it so hard to believe the dude only thought that he was going to be charged with assault and theft and that's why he talked? I understand that even if she didn't die, he'd still be looking at some pretty hefty charges such as home invasion and the like. But he probably didn't understand the gravity of the situation and thought it was merely assault and theft, nothing to hide because if the police have caught up with him, then they must know something happened with her. So he thinks he'll tell his side of the story, get charged, bailed, and can go home to bed. Obviously a good rule of thumb is to never talk to the police, but if it's clear they have some idea of what went on, then if you shut down and request a lawyer and refuse to speak to them, then they'll get shitty at you and lock you up for however many days. But if crime isn't something massive and you give them your side of the story, you'll just get processed and get to go home.

The sentence he got was very lenient considering he broke into someone’s house, busted their bedroom door in, then beat them to death and THEN tried to say she did it to herself. Him blaming her and not calling emergency services afterwards tells me that he’s a domestic abuser and he does this often-he expected her to walk it off and say she fell down the stairs or got hurt in lacrosse. He’s a domestic abuser that’s already claimed a life-he’ll end up either taking another life or learning the limits in how far he can take things at home without getting caught. We need to stop letting these people back into society.

Yeah, he's going to get out of prison even more desperate to immediately find a woman, and there is zero reason to believe he'll be any better...if anything, there's reason to believe he'll be worse, as his experience managing relationships with people in men's prison will not improve his relationship skills with women, only worsen them. He will be surrounded by assholes with even worse relationship skills than him, then thrown back into society.
There's a very good chance he will still have his health & decent looks, and a good chance he'll even have wealth thanks to his family. At least if he was going to be in his 70s+, he wouldn't be able to romance women that easily....but no, he'll still have time & resources to sucker some unlucky woman into his orbit.
I am very concerned about his future victims. If he doesn't end up victimizing more people in some capacity it will be pure luck...and when it comes to the wellbeing & lives of real people, I'd rather not be forced to say, "well, fingers crossed he gets unlucky and is taken out young." 🤞🙄

Is because they know they're in trouble and think they can talk their way out of it.

i'm not american so i've only seen movies but this guy is the perfect embodiment of the stereotypical jock. even the way he said "i just wanna talk to you" was spot on.

He’s the exact perfect American jock stereotype. The voice, the look, the family history, even the name. It’s like he was designed by producers.

His entitlement and world view is incomprehensible. First breaking into someone's home and assaulting them, thinking that it's okay. Not realizing that her injuries are life threatening. Not getting a lawyer. Refusing to understand that she has died. The way he speaks. How does someone live to their 20s, and having this little perception of reality is insane
