If we waited an extra 5 months we would have seen that apple decided to release the same exact air pods pro 2 but with USB-C
Considering how bloody expensive these Pods are 35 bucks for a custom conversion kit aren't actually as bad as expected.
I mean sure you can certainly get rock solid third party earpods with USB-C for that money alone but if you bought Apple you basically already signed up for being milked.

Little tip from an ex GB, when trying to flush mount connectors like this, do the mounting screws up a little bit, then use a cable to make sure the port is snug before tightening down the screws.

Casually rewatching this after the 15 came out with usb-c AirPods Pro 2
Ensure longevity? I mean this is cool and all but your 'old' lightning cable will still work when everyone else has moved on to USBC and even if you convert the port to USBC the apple battery in this thing is going to go to crap in 3 or 4 years (or less if you draw the gone-to-crap line at 50% capacity instead of 20% capacity.)

hey i dropped my phone in water i tried powering it off shoving in a towel and using silcon packets it turned on but the screen turned green and turned off and wont turn on what do i do
I was going to wait to go from AirPods 3 (that were free from work) to AirPods Pro once they switched to USB-C, but honestly I never plug mine in to begin with. I just Qi/MagSafe charge them periodically.
They just don’t need to charge often / fast enough to really be worth an operation like this for me or for USB-C to be that big of a deal just for charging. Other than just for a project to do
