The story of Wu Tang Clan is a continual story of flipping the norm, doing it your own way, and thinking long term. Wu Tang Clan's debut album, Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers) is like STARTING at the end and working backwards.

RZA was just smarter
Even more than Tony starks😂
And they were smart for listening and believing
Even more than a Genius then
putting together beats in real time is the coolest live art form. never gets old
I did another one that I had to edit out for copyright... make sure and follow me on Insta/TikTok - posting that deleted scene soon!
Cream? You introduced it and I got excited but then you didn’t break it down. No problem though, loved the vid and love what you are doing!
Yeah i love hearing the beat come together live. I really loved it on the common video about the light. I wish i could do that type of stuff. Its awesome!
This is also, in part, why I love vinyl. Watching a piece of plastic spin and pour out a familiar song is so cool. Magical even. I think experiencing a series of neat sounds coming together in real time to form your favorite jam works similarly. :D
In 2012 I got to see them live for free because I worked at the venue the performed at.
Raekwon was working the merch booth before the show & there was line of about 100 people waiting for merch.
I walked up to the booth and dropped a few stickers & punk pins of my band into the tip jar & Raekwon shouted "Yo! WTF is this shit!?" I simply told him that I was an electronic producer & wanted him & the rest of Wu to check me out. Rae reached in the jar and took out my stickers and pins & said "it wasn't cool - If you're gonna promote your stuff or give me something, you need to wait in line like every other person - and MAYBE I'll accept your merch."
So I did waited almost an hour, finally got to the booth, asked him if I could give him a some stickers and pins, he said -"Yes - Whatchu got!" then he tells me that I did good by humbling myself and showing respect, and he gave a free bootleg mixtape CD of his stuff & other Wu members/associates, shook my hand and said, "You learned something tonight & I'm proud of you, and I'm gonna check out your music. If I like your beats I'll contact you."
He never did. But I got free CD out of it and the main thing was I earned the respect of one of members of Wu-Tang!
🙌
That’s so dope esp because Rae has been known to be super hard headed and short tempered so getting that second chance and fixing the situation and getting the respect from a legend and actually learning is awesome !!! Wu Tang forever
Damn, bro did a siqequest
Gotta love Rae
What a beautiful story! Big props to you sweetheart. And I pray that I get to hear what it is that you have to offer.❤
Wrong thread….
Hot take. Wu Tang is THE single handed most important group in music history. They spanned so many aspects of life that no group has done before or since. From the large group dynamic to the individual record deals to spread their reach, to lexicon that is still relevant to this day in hip hop and pop culture, clothing brands in major retailers and their own stores, multiple personas of the members, intertwining movies and music, video games made after them, RZA doing movie scores, tons of movie appearances, TV show hosts, etc etc. While there are bigger bands, IMO no one has come close to having the impact on their genres' culture than Wu-Tang had.
Wu is such an important part of hip-hop. They influenced so many people plus RZAs way they did it was such a smart idea. Pretty much all of the members of the wu held their own but together they could hold a building.
I've been a huge Wu Tang fan since I first heard 36 Chambers in the early 90s, and they ABSOLUTELY have a claim to "most important act in hiphop". But in ALL music?!? Sorry, no way are Wu Tang more important/influential than Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Black Sabbath (both sometimes credit ed with being responsible for Heavy Metal exist ing) or the Beat les (who I don't even like; I've never owned a beatles album... But I can't deny the insane influence they had) Elvis, Otis Redding, MJ, Stevie Wonder, Nirvana. (Even Bowie, Stooges, MC5, PE, Run DMC, Jay Z-! but they're all at least closer to Wu Tang level of influence)
You can PREFER the Wu to all the above; I do too, except Maybe Sabbath. But "what I personally LIKE" vs "who's more important/influential" are two different things.
@@baconsarny-geddon8298Comparing the Wu to The Rolling Stones is like comparing Apples and Oranges my guy. Like what? 😭😭🤣
I will say the only one that probably has them beat in signifigance their genres culture is probably black sabbath cause metal is 85% sabbath and 15% motörhead
I would say they are the most important music group of the last 50 years. The Beatles had a bigger impact on their genre and industry. But I get ypur point.
This November, that album will be 30 years old. That album got a lot of mileage over the years and never sounds dated!
Word
I am gonna start to think that i am old😅
My fav album of all time. Got me thru the toughest parts of my life
As good a pick as any, ever... will never forget my first time listening to it. Had a 💩-eating grin on my face the whole run time 😁🔥🔥🔥
That’s all right, my brother! I pray you are where you wanna be!❤✊🏽✝️💯✅🇺🇸
Knowing how clever from the jump RZA was, I don't find it hard to believe AT ALL that the mail room dude was sent in by Wu Tang 😂
Digging The Greats is Forever!!! Big up!
Man that Wutang first seven albums run was something that will never happen again. A crucial moment in history. Beautiful vid.
Don't underestimate the wu ... Patience is a virtue
This album had such a massive impact on hiphop it can't be overstated imo. Was waiting for you to do this one ha!
My guy. How do you not have a single mid or low tier video?! Every one you put out is a hit on it's own. You've truly mastered the art of fighting without fighting. 🥋
this sponsorship is what i like, it actually fits with what the video is about, not like a gaming video put with a money saving ad
Forgot to mention midnight marauders and enter the 36 chambers dropped on the same day🔥🔥🔥
A legendary day
That’s insane. I didn’t know that, and these - together with “all eyez on me” are my favorite albums of all time.
Also he did in another video
Can you please do 2pac’s 1995 classic album me against the world because he intentionally tried to make the album more personal and reflective than his previous efforts but considered by several music critics to be the best of any of his albums up to that point in his career.
The best day in hip hop tbh
I've seen interviews w Divine, RZA, etc. where they vehemently denied that mailroom dude who ran in yelling "that's that sh!t" was NOT a plant. And they happily admit to using the "plant" strategy in other stories. So I think this was legit lol!
🔥Mailroom guy ftw
That's my favorite part of the _Of Mics & Men_ Showtime documentary 😁🔥
Can you please do 2pac’s 1995 classic album me against the world because he intentionally tried to make the album more personal and reflective than his previous efforts but considered by several music critics to be the best of any of his albums up to that point in his career.
There will never be another group like Wu Tang Clan!!!
36 chambers is possibly my fav rap album. Cant believe its almost 30 years since release
One of the greatest albums of any genre.
You'll never again get a group so talented.👐
My 1st concert was Rage and Wu-Tang back in 97. All these yrs later I still can't get enough Wu.... please do more Wu videos 🙏🏽 Rza's style and beats are what hip hop should be
I caught that tour, kids were jumping off the balcony
Fantastic video as always, glad to see you getting sponsored. Keep making solid content like this and you're gonna blow up like crazy!
🙏🙏The sponsors allow me to put even more into these videos, and I try to keep it related enough, not trying to shill random pills haha

This is without doubt, a top tier channel. From the smooth story like narration, the nuggets of information that we may not know and the myriad of music genres covered, it’s fire. ✊🏾🔥🙏🏾
One of the all-time great albums, in any genre! Will never forget my first time listening to the cassette - _especially the moment of that first beat drop on "Bring Da Ruckus"..._ *chills!
Love what you're doing with the channel - keep up the great work!!! 🙏🤲✊✌
Best and most lyrical group of emcees in hip hop
As always a master class in some of , if not the best hip-hop groups ever . Thank you.
🙏Paying respect to some of the best music ever made!

Salute the The Mastermind RZA. His production is top tier. In a lane all in his own.
Favorite album ever, I listened to it so many times
This channel really never disappoints! Been hoping and looking forward to a Wu Tang video and you delivered!
This is the album that got me into hip hop. My brother, 5 years older than me, LOVED Wu-Tang clan. He would play it ALLL the time. This album is amazing and this video really dug into a lot of stuff i didnt know about. Great video man!
Since the first through the wire video this channel has become one of my favorites. Always well produced, and unique! Much love🤍!
Great video with great insight from a producers perspective, great content and information regarding the origins of this legendary hip hop group. I listened to this album so man times on my walkman back in '93. You knew you were listening to something special even back then, an instant classic.
Nice connect with Tracklib. You & them are 2 of my favorite channels right now
Luv your channel, bro!
🙏🙏
Been waiting on a WuTang video forever! Thanks man. I love your videos!
Each MC paid $100 for the studio time to record Protect Ya Neck. Best investment ever
Wu-Tang is for the children 🙏
Such a legacy, these dudes were always fire.
awesome job as always dude!
Fun fact:
KRS ONE almost was going to use the cream sample first for return of the boom bap,K Def send him a beat with the same sample, but KRS turned it down, meaning we almost didn’t get one of the most iconic hip hop song of all time
Ayo this some cosmic shit bro, I started binging the show 2 days ago, and now this video comes my way. Wu Tang for life
Divine timing
@@ki7966 yessir
Dope as always! Allow me to ask once again - are you planning on covering some Gang Starr?
Come on... the list is growing longer by the day, but absolutely 🔥 Also go check out Preemo's channel - his breakdowns are 🔥
@@diggingthegreats Absolutely love Preem's track breakdowns... he's just handing out gems in that series constantly!
Love your videos. Keep up the good work my man.
I still have my key chain that came with the first line of Wu merch in '97
Always dope content Chief.
Another crucial factor for Wu’s unique style/approach was the 5 Percenter/Nation of Gods and Earth’s teaching. Tons of black Islamic culture lived through hip hop after the Civil Rights era.
“Wu-Tang is like Voltron.” Perfect. Whole video, right there.
Wu Tang slang was a major part of their appeal. These dudes came through hard with NGE and ku-fung influences, but they also used slang that was hardly heard outside of Staten Island.
i really enjoy your videos. i don’t know how nebula works but i feel like your videos would fit well on it - the production quality of your videos is so, so good and you really do a great job breaking down the musicians and songs you talk about. polyphonic is also a music channel and has a presence on nebula, and there are other music channels on it too. it would be cool to see yours in the mix there. either way, love the videos and learning so much from every one! gives me a new appreciation for the music i enjoy and puts me on to music i didn’t know about.
Your delivery and content are exquisite. More grease to your elbow and thanks for this content
Your content is gold in every way: topics, presentation and production.
Another banger of a video. Big love from the UK bro
I been waiting for A Wu video, thank you.👐
I just discovered your channel yesterday watching the Nas video, I gotta say I totally love the content, already subscribed and waiting for more 👏👏👏
I've been waiting for this video since I found this channel lol
YES BRO! I’ve been waiting on this for a minute
Revolutionary album. Wu Tang made me wanna MC in general. Album's and catalog still in rotation 🎉🎉..👐 Wu ForEver 👊🏾
dude these videos are top tier content man please keep up the good work
"And your not only going wide, you're also going deep"
That's what she said.
Finally, one of my favorite albums! Ever considered making a video about Nujabes?:)
My guy, your facts and beat creation are perfection for this kind of content
Absolutely genius, keep it up!
I am so glad I discovered this channel
Great video! Thanks!
Always great to hear your thoughts!
Thanks for the video, it was a deep dive for me into Wu Tang Clan
Been waiting for this video. Niiiiccceeee.
Wu Tang Forever
BRAVO! HAPPY 30 YEARS TO THE GREATEST LP EVER RELEASED! ENTER THE WU-TANG 36 CHAMBERS!
Rza style is so unique. Another great episode
WU-TANG IS INVINCIBLE!
BRAVO!
Just thank you for this one, great work
Recently bought a Wu Tang hoodie at Primark.
Your historical breakdowns are just top notch. I wish you could play the music you reference, but dammit CZcams! Keep up the good work.
PLEASE do full breakdowns from done Wu joints in the future. Love your videos
great vids!
Love your videos man I always learn so much
🙏
it's crazy that 20 years later, i'm watching a video about wu-tang, and wearing a wu-tang t-shirt. i loved PE and bunch of acts that i still love, but no other act impacted me in such a way for so long.
Yeah boy!!! Our bass playing genius is finally talking Wu ❤️
In a year or two when there’s 2 million subscribers people are going to have an amazing catalog of videos to go through - this will absolutely be in the top 3
One of the best Wu breakdown videos I've seen
One of the first hip hop albums I've ever heard! Classic!
CREAM IS SUCH A LEGENDARY SONG. The production is insane.
You’re amazing !!!
Do you know why I respect the #Wu? They have been together for thirty years. This is unheard of in hip-hop. All the major record labels and crews are marred with wars, finger-pointing and blame games. From NWA to Deathrow to Bad Boys to RocAfellA to G-Unit to Murder Inc to No Lmit. I can go on and on. Wu-Tang has stayed glued. Respect on their name for that.
Great video as always mate.
Something you may or not be interested in is the hip hop group Jurassic 5, they were inspired by the Native tongues, particularly De La Soul if I’m right. They have lots of solid albums but their first two are classics. Their debut (self titled) really mixes the 80s and 90s styles quite well with some insane rapping from the group.
Don’t know how much content you could make from it but just thought I’d mention it in case it gave you a video to make or at the least a good listen.
Love your stuff dude, peace
Man, I love Jurassic 5
@@diggingthegreats a man of culture
Your channel is a goldmine, much love from India!
Much love 🙏
take a shot every time he sais wu tang clan aint nuthn tu f with
😂
Amazing video
I was wanting to make some little beat things since I just got a vinyl player and there were a few people I thought about when thinking about making my own beats and you were one of the first I thought of I have a bit of vinyls so I came here to learn a thing or 2 and I also thought about rza and seeing that one scene from the show that I saw on youtube of him pitching stuff up and down and reversing some things and removing some things so you and rza were my go to picks when I thought about this
the video ive been waiting for
RZA is my main inspiration when it comes to Production. being a producer myself. cant wait to see WU and NAS live in may! here in Australia.
3:40 its what!??? 😮
Never knew this 🤣👀👀👀👀👀🔥🔥
One of the best videos ever
Thank you for you.
I remember having a promo copy on tape about a few months of it coming out my friend sister was a hair stylest in the music industry back in the early 90s,
(I also had a promo CD 💿 of B.I.G Ready to die) She used to always give us her promo cd & tapes. What a gem of recored history. I Still play this from beginning to end. BIG Ups to tha Abbot, W
We need a full RZA video. This was just getting good and it’s over ! 😊
Mail guy was a PLANT!!! hahaha awesome video as usual
Wu Tang forever and a day, till i'm old and decayed
This is the best channel ever!!!
In the ad you said you were going to release what you got from Tracklib. I love your bass playing and deconstruction/reconstruction of samples. Are you really releasing your own stuff? If so where can I pay to hear it?
I love this channel. You've demonstrated for music fans and non-music fans the depths of artistry in hip-hop--a genre that is still maligned by racist commentary or just tossed off by music snobs as pastiche art. You mention some of your videos being taken down for copyrighted material, and I wonder if your meticulous use of samples being less than 15 seconds, along with your videos being clear cultural criticism and commentary, qualify as fair use. Labels and publishers are quick to demand shut downs, but your channel is a vital commentary. I'm loving each and every video.
Never thought about it like they did the whole thing in reverse-that’s awesome 🤣🤣
My grandfather introduced me to Wu-Tang through the song “Cream” We used to listen to Cream a lot 20 years ago.
