I love that you keep the mess ups in 😂
Gives the video some personality lol
I LOL'd when you said you forgot to put the grease in. I needed a good laugh. Thanks😂
Kicking myself on the head over here 🤣
@themechanic6117 You live and learn. It was your first time changing cv boots and it didn't exactly all go according to plan. You're human. At least you're honest and down to earth. I've never changed CV boots. I usually just pay to have them swapped out. LOL! So I give you credit for trying it.
@themechanic6117 and to be perfectly honest, forgetting something like the grease is something I could see myself doing so I can actually relate to this. 🤣
This kind of day happens to me more than ever lately. You are not alone, thanks for sharing your time with us.
It sucks, but it's part of the job. Usually the second time around it goes much faster
Great job! I like the comedy too. We all mess up… it’s part of the learning process.
Glad you enjoyed the video
I saw the pause ⏸️ and I said to my wife he forgot something 😂😂 it happens to all of us 😅
The only thing worse is completely installing the part then realizing you forgot to put the grease in 🤣
This was a great video... the moment you realised you'd forgot the grease, we've all been there in one way or another :D
That's what I get for trying to rush since I was burning day light . Slow n steady wins the race lol
Well,,,, for one.... Thanks for not editing out the errors. We are all human!
And 2, its not a piece of crap yet!
Cheers!
It makes for a more interesting video lol . Yeah I'm trying to keep up the maintenance so it doesn't turn into a piece of crap lol
I like how you improvise!
Thank you for your time and video
✌🕶🔧
Wasn't going to let that axle defeat me 🤣
I actually used a very large thick zip tie because I didnt have the metal clamp on one of my cv boots. Its still doing its job and that was about a year and a half ago. Its one of those 'Its temporary unless it works' deals.
I thought about a zip tie for that center dampener and I may just do that. It's not like it's holding in grease or anything. 👍
Nice work!
Thanks for watching
I did my fair share of Cv boots in the 90s and early 2000s, the outer joint bearing cage is high carbon brittle steal. The outer housing is forgiving. To knock the outer joint off hit the edge off the outer joint housing. Every once in I while I would miss and accidentally smack the cage and would instantly crack the cage and ruin the joint/axle. It’s risky knocking the joint off so the way you did it was a safer route
Thanks for your input , yeah I felt like I would damage something if I keep pushing it.
ya bro. i havr alot of problems with after mark or anyway how it spell.
Jon after assembly spray the rubber with silicone and the rubber will be playable and you never have to redo ever again!! Just spray them once every year .. and they will last .. been there done that ..
Thanks for the tip ! I definitely don't want to keep doing this. I'm still finding grease all around my tools and garage
Same thing happened to me you get to a certain age you forget things but I haven't got millions of followers only my wife😂😂😂
Getting old is real thing, vision is getting worse, joints are clicking and clacking 🤣
Great video and nice job! Did you end up replacing the whole axle after a month? or the aftermarket boots are not leaking and still doing the job.. thx.
I just did a oil change on it today and noticed the new boots are holding up well. No leaks and no reason to replace the whole axle 👍
Nice
Thanks for watching
One job I hate is CV boots . Just such messy job. Also it helps not to forget the new grease 🤣🤣
It was frustrating working on my personal car, if this were a customers car I'd be upset that I screwed up so much, that's why I don't normally do this service lol
Low Fuel.. Did I already say, it has a low fuel light on? lol Well Done. It seemed like a greasy/messy job.
Yeah she filled up the next day before work 👍 in a few days I'll check on it and clean up the mess
Great job Nic ! , just don't tell the wife exactly what happened. Would you still recommend the Altima in this year, even with the cvt issues ? thanks
Normally I don't recommend these cars because of the cvt but at 140k our is still going but I also change the trans fluid every 30k miles
Thanks Nic !@@themechanic6117

Did you remember to put some gas in the tank? 🤔 The low fuel light is on.
She did that in the morning. I fix her car that's enough lol. 🤣
I would have stuck a pickle fork thru and hit the pickle fork with a hammer...
Get an alignment man. Dont be cheap.
It'll get one once I change all the parts I need to 👍
