    Thank you so much for this excellent series on the Garmin 1000 NXi. You make it not so overwhelming to learn about and now my sim flights are a lot more fun!

    Great video tutorial. I viewed many to really understand G1000 and vor, but this one with very simple explanation did it for me.👍👍

    This was excellent, thank you! I was looking for a refresher in VOR work as I transition to G1000, so this video was perfect for my needs.

    Great tutorial - Thank you! I learned on steam gauges without AP, so the one thing I needed to be reminded of was to switch back to heading mode before switching the CDI.

    These videos are the best I’ve found on learning the functionality of the G1000. Binge-watched all 5 episodes in one sitting. Can’t wait to get into the DA62 and create some of my own routes! Thanks Flyover 👍🏼

      Would you be able to do a video on how and when to use Approach mode and VNAV on the autopilot. Many times I have found myself confused about when to them and when not to; resulting in me flying straight and level through the point where I thought the aircraft was going to start descending.

    Thanks Flyover, another great tutorial. Just a tip, if you don't already know it, you can snap the heading bug to the top by pressing on the heading knob with the left mouse button and clicking the right mouse button at the same time. Much quicker than scrolling the bug around. 😤

    I'm not a glass cockpit guy and am trying to learn more about how they work so that I might catch up with the technology. I've been flying for decades and I started out before I went to fly military, but in my military days we were using LORAN---Remember that?) and am (17 years ago) retired now, but technology has run off into the future and left me behind, so this may be an odd question...is it not possible with this system to fly the heading bug, but have the desired nav system set up and "ARMED" in order that when the aircraft should start making the required turn upon track interception, it will do that?

    • @FlyOverGames
      @FlyOverGames  Před 11 měsíci

      If you are in HDG mode it will follow the designated heading, if you arm NAV mode for either LOC or GPS it will follow the chosen nav source as long you are within the path.

    Hi. You promised us the tutorial VOR2VOR navigation in the airplane without glass-cockpit and GPS autopilot. It's been 9 months ago and I still can't find such video.

    • @FlyOverGames
      @FlyOverGames  Před rokem

      I still have that on my list, however, many things come after that promise. My GPU died, and I was unable to record anything for some time, also it is difficult to find an appropriate airplane. I can make that video with a payware addon, but not everyone has that addon. I have a few ideas but need to test airplanes and see if they are good for VOR2VOR. It is still on my TO-DO list and will be done eventually, it is just a matter of time. The good news is that I have a new GPU now and can record videos again. So you may expect a new video in a few days, who knows, maybe even a VOR2VOR video. Thanks for the comment.

      @@FlyOverGames Thank you. What about Cessna 152? Could it be used for such purpose?

    • @FlyOverGames
      @FlyOverGames  Před rokem +1

      @@ivansenko208 Yes, it can, but it will be better to have airplane with functional autopilot, it is not easy to fly on hands while changing courses and frequencies. It doesn't matter what airplane i use in the video, once you learn how to fly VOR2VOR you can fly at any airplane.

    • @ivansenko208
      @ivansenko208 Před rokem

      @@FlyOverGames :-) However real pilots must be able to fly manually. Also the training missions in sim are performed with Cessna 152.
      Hearty greetings to Hrvatska. I am Slovak and Croatia is my very favourite holiday land. I like very much Makarska region and I use to spend my holiday in Drvenik where I have a very friendly croatian family. 😍

    • @FlyOverGames
      @FlyOverGames  Před rokem

      @@ivansenko208 Not for the purpose of the video, it just doesn't look nice when recording and airplane go everywhere while changing needles, courses and frequencies. I will use C172 regular, Piper Arrow or one of the Carenado airplanes for this video. The point of the video is VOR2VOR and not manual flight, that may be topic for another video and may be done with Cessna 152. BTW, I live in Malaysia for almost 10 years and haven't been in Croatia ever since, but you are right it is nice country for tourism and sightseeing, however not for living there unfortunately.

    Thanks - excellent tutorial. However, after setting up the details for the VORs, when I click the CDI button (while on the runway) both VOR labels are showing as VOR1 instead of VOR1 and VOR2. The two different frequencies are correct for each VOR as are the two different course bearings and shown like your setup but both are showing as VOR1. Any idea how I can get VOR2 to show the VOR2 label instead of VOR1? Thanks!

    • @FlyOverGames
      @FlyOverGames  Před 2 lety +2

      You can see only 1 at a time.

    • @FlyingCatPro
      @FlyingCatPro Před 2 lety +1

      @@FlyOverGames - Thanks for your reply. Yes, but after clicking the CDI button once it moves me to the first VOR and shows VOR1 as the label, clicking the CDI button again moves me to the next VOR (VOR2) but the green label still shows VOR1 and not VOR2. Clicking the CDI button again shows the GPS. This is whilst I'm setting up the VORs on the departure runway 22 at WMKI. On your video, when setting up, changing from VOR1 to VOR2 yours shows the labels as VOR1 then VOR2 whilst mine shows VOR1 for both.

    • @FlyingCatPro
      @FlyingCatPro Před 2 lety

      @FlyOver - Rebooted my system, loaded MSFS and set up the flight again. Managed to use the two VORs (VIH & VPG) to navigate the flight perfectly from WMKI to WMKP exactly as your tutorial. However, the second VOR compass display when transiting from RINBA to VPG is still being labelled as VOR1 even though all other parameters are correct and using the VPG Frequency of 116.20. I really don't have a clue why this is and how to get it to show correctly. Very strange!
