      Netflix and the producer who wrote Husavik issued a statement on this matter. Also the end credits of the movie Will, Rachel, and Molly are listed as performed by under Husavik.
      “According to Netflix, Sandén’s vocals were mixed with McAdams’s own voice for the tracks. In a separate phone call with Vanity Fair, Eurovision’s music producer Kotecha said that Sandén and McAdams’s “tones worked so well together” that, in playing back certain tracks, he had a hard time differentiating between the vocals.”

      Savan Kotecha has wrote songs for some of the most popular artists today, Arianna Grande, Britney Spears, Katy Perry just to name a few, and he’s won a Grammy. He wouldn’t make a statement if it wasn’t true. I’m sorry you’re having a hard time with this, but Husavik is his song, his statement is all that matters. Molly is a phenomenal singer, and I have done requests for reactions to her performances. You should check them out!

    I provided this elsewhere and am providing it here too. Netflix THEMSELVES admit that it was 100% Molly. Check out the description on this video from the OFFICIAL Netflix UK & Ireland CZcams channel.
    czcams.com/video/kql9cw2MtCU/video.html
    "Rachel McAdams is amazing in Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, but did you know that isn't actually her singing. That voice is actually that of Swedish superstar Molly Sandén. "
    So even NETFLIX THEMSELVES on their OFFICIAL CZcams CHANNEL claim it was 100% Molly.
    Molly and Rachel may have been singing together on things like Ya Ya Ding Dong
    Regarding crediting her on the album, sometimes things like that are done for marketing purposes.
    For example, consider a world famous song writing trio from the 80s Stock Aitken and Waterman.
    All three of them were credited as being the songwriters for both music and lyrics for all their songs. Pete Waterman never wrote a single note on any of the songs. IT was practically all Mike Stock, however Mike later said he wanted all 3 of them to be given equal credit for marketing purposes so others would not try to divide them as he saw it all as a team effort and a way for everyone to be rewarded for whatever they did. He acknowledged that Pete Waterman dealt with all the business management stuff while he and Matt Aitken actually were involved in the creative songwriting with most of it initially written by Mike Stock with guitar playing by Matt Aitkan and feedback from MAtt.
    They were world famous in the 80s. In the UK they were even more famous than their acts (singers).
    Sometimes people are credited for marketing purposes.
    Another example, on the Dire Straits song "Money for Nothing" Sting is credited as being a songwriter of it. It was later acknowledged all he did was a part with the exact words "I want my MTV" and for those words alone was given a song writing credit.
    Molly was unheard of in the US and I think for marketing purposes the originally tried to be economical with the truth for a US audience before coming clean especially in the UK and Ireland.

      @DidrickNamtvedt Před 3 lety +1

      When even Netflix themselves say it was all Molly on the songs, you pretty much have the truth right there, straight from the horse's mouth. And it also makes sense to credit Rachel McAdams on the album purely for marketing purposes as she's a well known name in Hollywood and Molly Sanden's fame is mostly limited to Scandinavia. But I'm glad Netflix UK & Ireland rightfully gives credit where credit is due, which is to Molly Sanden on the "Husavik" track. One thing is watching the scenes in the movie where, yes, it is a collaborative effort between McAdams and Sanden but as far as audio is concerned (the songs from the soundtrack) it's all 100% Molly.

      @@LegionGames2076 The only reason Rachel McAdams is credited for Husavik in that list is because of the hotel scene where she sits by the piano singing snippets of the song.
      I find it strange that so many of you aren't able to distinguish between Rachels and Mollys voices. Molly has a very clear character to her voice which Rachel doesn't.
      So yes, Rachel IS (by herself) singing Husavik but only in the hotel scene whiles Molly, and only Molly, is singing in the final scene and version of the song.

    From the official Billboard website on this:
    www.billboard.com/index.php/articles/business/chart-beat/9414514/eurovision-track-debuts-digital-song-sales-chart
    "In the movie, Ferrell and Rachel McAdams' characters perform the song, although Swedish singer My Marianne (real name: Molly Sanden) ***sings in place of Adams***
    . For the song's recording, Sanden's vocals were mixed with McAdams'."
    What that means in simple terms is that during the recording PROCESS they mixed the voices together to make sure that they matched regarding lip synching etc.
    Then in the final edit, removed Rachel's voices
    (This can easily be done by switching an audio track on and off as anyone who has done any video editing knows).

    • @DidrickNamtvedt
      @DidrickNamtvedt Před 3 lety

      That is my conclusion as well. During the "Husavik" peformance, we can see Rachel's vein in her neck which is a typical trait of singers singing live so I'm not doubting the fact that she did sing live in front of the audience during the shooting of that scene, but as you said, they replaced Rachel's vocals with Molly's in post production. Every other song I've ever heard by Molly, both in English and Swedish, has vocals IDENTICAL to that voice so that's definitely 100% all her.

    • @LegionGames2076
      @LegionGames2076  Před 3 lety

      I did not know that about the singers trait which is awesome, thank you. Netflix did confirm that they did indeed combine both Rachel and Molly’s voices as did the writer of the song.

      I know, you’re not the first person to quote that video. It also says 8 seconds into the video “Molly My Marianne Sanden Singer & Co-voice for Sigrit.” No, Rachel did not sing solo, neither did Molly. @@LegionGames2076 They said "Co Voice" because for example it was 100% Rachel singing "Husavic" in the "hotel" scene. Also they said "Co-voice" because Rachel was speaking as Sigrit in the movie. It was diplomacy by Netflix. As I stated before, I believe in the production the vocals were originally being mixed before Rachel's being stripped out.
      If Rachel really was singing, why did she not have an official credit when the song was in the charts and is it because Rachel was too nice to complain?
      The original plan for example with "Lion of Love" was for the vocals of Dan Stevens (who actually did sing the song but we never heard the vocals) to be mixed with the real singer. However they RUSHED THE FILM OUT DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS.
      Therefore they spent less time on it than they wanted so they could rush it out due to the coronavirus.
      In order to rush the film out they just made they lip synching looked good and scrapped the actors' singing voices. The exception was Will Ferrell who really did sing and any other singers who appeared as themselves.
