Since you mentioned that her voice has Disney quality: Molly actually is the Swedish voice of Rapunzel in Tangled. Her sister is the Swedish voice of Anna in Frozen. đ
wow that's cool! So fun for them too!
And High School Musical 2
Dope
When I watch Frozen with my kid I always think about the missed opportunity of having two actual sisters singing Anna (Mimmi SandĂ©n) and Elsa (Molly SandĂ©n)đ© would have been just lovely but I believe Molly was not into Disney anymore at that point after TangledâŠ
Amazing. She's Sweeden's version of Demi Lovato only not a wack job luciferian, unlike the aforementioned.
So itâs winter in Iceland. Most people can barely breath, let alone sing because itâs so cold. She fâing nailed this song.
Yup, it's probably around 0 Celsius
â@@Bayard1503 hilarious.
I think she said in a Intervju in Sweden that it was -12c that night so yeah killed it
Love this song
She's actually Swedish, so it's not her native tongue. But she did pronounce HĂșsavĂk with an Icelandic accent, for the song I guess :)
@EDITS oh really, that's cool
@EDITS she did. She mentions it on her behind the scenes for the Oscars on her CZcams channel
I mean Icelandic and Swedish stems from the same language
@@Thleepricon Well yes but why would that matter?
How can Sweden keep producing so many incredible singers, songwriters and artists? I don't get it
She is 100% swedish, but since the song is about husavik (village in iceland, also the venue of this live performance) she learned a couple of lines in icelandic. Her icelandic is 100% better in this live performance compared to the movie (the recorded version).
Yes, theres a vlog "Behind the scenes of Husavik Oscar performance" something something - and Molly is practicing her Icelandic lines cause she said she needed to do a better job with pronunciation :D
She's Sweeden's version of Demi Lovato only not a wack job luciferian, unlike the aforementioned.
They are phonetically somewhat similar. I mean as similar as German and English is. Most people would agree Icelandic is probably the hardest European languages to learn.
@@KingJames1981 Based on experience, I'd say that Hungarian and Cymraeg are even more difficult for people to learn to pronounce.
Dont forget this was performed in sub zero temperature.A stunning incredible remarkable performance.
Hm, consider she is an American she will not get it, because below zero Fahrenheit would really be too cold for this performance.
@@tommay6590 Molly Sandén is Swedish.
@@pontus3018 ah yes, but i never mentioned the singers nationality, so what are you addressing?
I was gonna mention this- god only knows how much hot tea she had to drink to ensure this performance was great.
@@tommay6590Sub zero farenheit is only about -17 -18 celcius.
I almost wish you had watch the recorded version, because she has a whistle note at the end which is just so crystal clear and strong.
It's still a head voice tho
I totally agree (itâs probably engineered for the movie.. but if she can actually do that weâre not worthy đđŸ!)
@@MARQ.A-S Oh, she can. They picked her because of her vocal range.
In an interview I read she called those high notes her âstart notesâ because when practicing them as a child she saw stars. Then she thought it was magic, but now she realises she was probably just deprived of oxygen.
Yea please record to the studio version!
@@MARQ.A-S pretty sure she can but I donât think for as long as it was needed
Did you notice the northern lights in the sky?? And Molly has such a unique voice! :D Also, please go and watch the movie! Eurovision is BIG in Europe, and this was a true celebration from Will Ferrell showing all the quirkiness and fun that happens when so many different countries and cultures meet in a music event. Greetings from Denmark!
Those Northern Lights was so nice to see. I would love to see them, in person one day.
I mean... the northern lights, and reflected in the colours of her shimmery gown. Whoever did the artistic design for this performance, give them all the money right now.
Fun fact: Molly SandĂ©n (Swedish) did the vocals in the Eurovision movie but in places they were mixed with the vocals of Rachel McAdams. However, in the HĂșsavik song itâs all purely Molly. So, Molly was supposed to sing this at the Oscars but wasnât admitted into the US (no work visa) & therefore they decided to go to HĂșsavik - the town where the movie is set & the name of this song - on Iceland to perform this song. It was pre-recorded (the kids & the musicians didnât peform live) like all the other Oscars performances but Mollyâs vocals are 100% live.
She is a magical artist with emotion like no other! A few of her songs:
czcams.com/video/pJEYzD4SwSw/video.html
czcams.com/video/T3s39VtMuqM/video.html
czcams.com/video/gyoMwxEnwGw/video.html
Molly wasn't originally chosen to do the voice over, they just asked her to record a sample version but and as soon as the producers heard her voice they wanted her. I totally understand why, she has an amazing voice and is very popular here in Sweden. Love Molly đ
In the version we hear in the movie, she is a whole octave higher in the "finale note". She is so amazing.
Speorg Note!
@@scott2972 Yah, I got to actually watch the movie and got the whole context đ
Iâve been trying to find a video where she sings this note. Please let me know if you find one.
She also carries the note riiiiight the way through to the end like Tara was hoping for.
Agreed. She's Sweeden's version of Demi Lovato only not a wack job luciferian, unlike the aforementioned.
I think the diphthongs and the switching between and chest and head voice is very common in our folk music here in Sweden and Iceland (and other countries around here). That's probably why she's singing like that. The folk vibe fits perfectly since she's singing about Husavik and the Icelandic nature.
She sang the song at the Oscars because the song was nominated for an Oscar.
This is such a great performance, especially in the conditions - in the BTS videos you can see that it is FREEZING. Love this song, and Molly Sanden in general :) I find she just has this amazing, evocative and agile voice. Love it.
Molly is the swedish voice for Rapunzel and her sister Mimmi SandĂ©n is Anna in Frozen đ
Like a million people have already mentions Molly Sandén is a Swedish artist.
But Iâm guessing she was chosen exactly for the reason that the Scandinavian countries like Sweden and Iceland are closely related and have a lot in common.
Molly Sandén is probably among the biggest pop artists in Sweden, she is pretty pure Swedish pop, and have been so for a long time. She got her break really young, and her whole thing her whole career have been that she is such a great singer, with really impressive vocals.
She also grown to become a really quite impressive song writer, and mostly sings in Swedish.
Itâs interesting to see you mention vocal techniques and make associations to things like American country music, while to me it just something that is something Iâm very used to from Swedish pop and Swedish musical theatre.
And like others have mentioned, the Disney note was pretty spot on, as she was I believe both the voice actor and vocalist for the songs for Rapunzel in the Swedish dub of Tangled.
Iceland isn't a Scandinavian country.
Think it was Will Ferrells decision.
He spends a lot of summers in Sweden (swedish wife) and probably knew about her.
And yeah, doubt anyone outside the nordics couldâve done the icelandic parts.
Iâd say 99% of the world canât do the âuâ in Husavik.
Funny enough, in this version Molly does the âinternationalâ Hooo-sa-week, while the original recording has the Scandinavian or Swedish âuâ (hew).
@@rexuz2482pendsâŠ. true, geographically itâs not, but Icelandic is a Scandinavian language, and because Iceland was populated by Norwegians and for a long time was under Danish rule, they have strong cultural ties to Scandinavia. It is more correct to refer to it as a Nordic country, but people confuse Scandinavian and Nordic all the time.
The crescendo in the last note, before the run, causes her natural vibrato to fall out in a really beautiful way. It's like saying "oh, you thought I was done...I got something extra for you." When you expect it to just be a fade out, she pushes. I think I like it, but I'd have to hear it the other way to be sure.
Nice. She's Sweeden's version of Demi Lovato only not a wack job luciferian, unlike the aforementioned.
Molly Sandén was trained at the renowned Swedish music school Rytmus in Stockholm, Sweden. This is public knowledge.
Sitting here, all proud being swedish because of molly and her amazing voice đ đ
Girl girl, hunny, omg...i cant believe you as a vocal coach hast heard of the euroviosn! ENjoy there is more than 50 years of entertainment
Like being a professional in sport and never heard of Superball. She was probably handpiced to sing this kind of Eu đȘđș-vision song contest song.
Sweden the tiny country with great singers.
See also: Smith &Thell đ
Sweden is definitely not tiny
Her name is SandÄn so pronounced Sandeen. Also, as just about everyone here has stated, she is Swedish. And an amazing singer.
Eurovision has many great songs and artists, you already reacted to some of them like Loreen and Lordi. I think you'll like Eurovision song contest: the story of Fire Saga.
Also, react to Ja ja dibg dong. đ
Please watch âSong Alongâ from Eurovision. Since I know you dig mashups. Itâs from the same movie and is by far the best track on the album.
Tara, thank you for reacting to Molly SandÄn! I started with Husavik and have now listened to every song of hers. I recommend the following:
- Rosa Himmel (live acoustic)
- Freak
- Phoenix
- Youniverse
You should listen to her vocals from the studio version of this song her last tone is incredible giving me the chills all the time!
This past year, I played this song SO MANY times (and I never even saw the movie either). Molly's honesty and emotion just really comes through in her vocal choices. I really wanted "Husavik" to WIN the award for Best Original Song, and was SO disappointed when it didn't. Keep reacting to other European and Eurovision artists!
It's not her native toung though, she's Swedish not Icelandic. đ
Finally!!!! đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°
Ive been waiting for this such a beautiful song! đ
She went into a straight tone in order to do the melisma which was in the same breath as the sustained note. So she didnât just go into a straight tone to hold a straight tone, she was going into a straight tone to do the melisma.
Hi, Tara! I have always watched your reactions since the beginning of your CZcams channel and it's just so lovely to see how it has grown so much in the past years. Keep it up and God bless you always!
Love you! đ thank you SO much for everything you do on this channel! â€
Molly is Swedish and not Icelandic so not her native tongue đ
Thank you for recognizing how extraordinary her voice is; such a special artist.
Ha I knew you were going go call her out when the vibrato dropped in the long held note before the run/riff. This song gave me goosebumps. I heard this performed on the Eurovision and loved it then.
In regards of the final note then it was pretty cold outside and I do think something like that can have an affect on the voice. Still Molly did an awesome performance and finally we Icelanders could hear her pronounce Icelandic correctly đ
YESSSSS đ I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH đ THANK YOU FOR THIS REACTION đ
Omg I always get Never Enough vibes from her!!! Both deserve the praise!!
Best Vocal Coach Ever!!â€â€â€â€
The best coach ever! I agree 100%. You're fabulous.
Molly is my imaginary queen. Now and forever â€â€â€â€â€
If youâre ever feeling down the movie is the perfect one to watch. You canât help but enjoy it.
She has a beautiful tone â€
must say impressive reacts, love how you now,and hear all diffrents of tones, really really impresssive
On top of the amazing vocals. Mollys dress, the set and the background were awesome.
I've been waiting for this reaction! đ
Please react to her other songs, like; Freak or Sand which is a swedish song but shows her great voice.
I love watching this. It is so cool seeing it from a vocal coach perspective.
Totally amazing!! â€ïž
She's Swedish but she was singing icelandic
React to Switzerland's Eurovision entry Tout l'univers! It's vocally amazingđ
She has a lot of underrated bops/songs on her youtube channel that you will love! Such as 'like no one is watching' :D
Also the last note is supposed to be whistle note. I prefer that and that note had a significant importance in the film
Love that i can finaly watch you again Tara! You are back to behaving like an adult and not trying to be a teen.
There are several vocal coach reactions to this song on youtube. Yours is the absolute best.
Best Molly SandĂ©n †She from Sweden and sing perfecly notice that she sing outside in a wery cold wheather â€â€â€
feel like a disney movie :) !! I don't know if it is never saw this movie !!! But her voice is just wow !!! love how you explain everything :)
Thank you for putting the definition of "diphthong" on screen! Love your reactions!
She is a Really good female Singer. And very popular in Sweden winning lots of rewards as a pop singer. Her songs are played every Day on the radio.
I loved your reaction. You're wonderful â€
Love your editing:]
Loveee this song itâs one of my favourites! Iâm also super into Netflixs Julie and the Phantoms atm and seeing you react to the songs from that would be amazing!!!
It sounds so beautiful â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Molly is an amazing singer, and I love her voice and musik to. She has good songs, and so beautiful to đđâ€ïžđ€đđčđ
I love this woman. Such good vibes.
I imagine that song at Eurovision. It would have been so beautiful.
I hope the songwriters (Swedes Fat Max Gsus and Rickard Göransson, and American Savan Kotecha) can get together with Molly and write something like this to next years Melodifestivalen.
Fabulous video. So informative and not at all intrusive and I love your energy and enthusiasm. I would love to hear your take on 17 year old English girl Lucy Thomasâs cover of Leonard Cohenâs âHallelujahâ. I still get goosebumps every time I hear it. She is a beautiful young lady with an incredibly beautiful voice. Best wishes from a new subscriber in Scotland.
Yes tara you have to watch the movie its a great song and she soo deserved to win the oscar her voice is amazing.
Very pretty voice and great breakdown.
I so love the song and she sang it so good & beautiful :)
You actually translate this music for us. I like her singing. Now, I know what I like :))
you gorgeous creature I love your reactions, knowledge, and emotion!
You should react to Maneskin, they are an Italian Band who won Eurovision 2021 with the song âZitti e Buoniâ but they also have english song and are amaizingđ
Great performance!
The movie was fantastic and the song at the end makes me cry and Iâve seen it probably six or seven times now
you have to react to little mix "confetti" acoustic version, it includes powerful voices and beautiful harmonies!
Molly is amazing!
Wow. Great analysis especially on the straight tone to vibrato then to straight tone. Didnât catch that at first.
Most def a Disney song thingy. Love the kids though and their shirts, just love em.
I love this song but her version in the movie has a whistle note at the end that is just absolutely breathtaking. Also, another good song to listen to is "Ultraluminary" from the Netflix movie, "Over The Moon." There is a note at the end that gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. :-)
ILove her voiceâ€ïžđžđȘ
I love molly sheâs amazing â€
You need to hear the studio version of this song !! she sang whistle note the end long note !! đ€©đ€©
itâs not whistle. itâs head
Love Molly đ
If I remember this correctly, Molly did this performance live, during the Oscarâs?!? So the control of voice AND nerves are pretty amazing, besides sitting in a warm and cozy, re-take-youtube-studioâŠ. :p
we all all glad you approve of successful professional singers Tara
you must watch and review more songs from The Eurovision Song Contest. The Story if Fire Saga is called Eurovision in Europe and based on the annual song contest
The final note in the movie version is insane
so inlove withu right now ,,,,,, such a teacher and pro
You should do a part 2 where you react to all of the Sandén sisters ;) They're all amaaazing singers. Mimmi won Swedens got talent (which is called Talang), Frida "Lilla Melodifestivalen" which is Melodifestivalen but for kids (where they decide who represents Sweden in junior Eurovision) and then there's Molly.
Mimmi did not win Talang. The winner that year was Jon Henrik FjÀllgren.
She sings some parts of the song in Icelandic, her native tongue I Swedish đđ
This is the big problem with Internet and the CZcams reaction videos. Molly SandĂ©n did an amazing job and that end note in the chilly weather is fantastic. But of course someone on the Internet must say that they love the end note but always have a little small complaint and that takes away all the feels to the whole thing. đ„șđđđ
Pls react to - Shirley Bassey "Goldfinger" Live at Royal Albert Hall in 1974.
Her performance is so perfect it can cure any depression â€ïž
OMG, I love this song and I love your reactions. I think you would like to see the acoustic version of "Confetti" or Secret Love Song in The Search, both by Little Mix.
SO GOOOOOOD
Funfact she did the songs for tangeld in Disneys swedish version
Listen to the recorded version from the film, the last notes she hit higher and held the note a lot longer.
I love your analysis, and I know absolutely nothing about singing
Haha! " i dont know words" that cracked me up!
sing that song if you can swedes girl she is the best coach
Totally agree on the vibrato Ms Tđ
But she went into a run after the vibrato. Thatâs why she let go of the vibrato. If she does held on to a straight tone after the vibrato then I could understand the complaint.
Please react to Salvador Sobral's "Amar Pelos Dois" - it won Eurovision Song Contest 2017
So I ran across your video one night the oceans one and I was in a very dark amd difficult time in my life and I didn't want to live anymore so with the barrel of a shotgun in my mouth I felt something stop me a holy touch and for some reason got on CZcams of all things never have hear about you and first video I saw was this and I cried out for the first time to our father and he meet me there and saved my soul so I thank him first and then you only he put that video there god bless you and bless him our father he is good all the time
