Spanish language is perfect for singing. The vowels are open, and if you listen to their singers they are some of the best with open throated, dark and belting voices.

@@rk77uk It's referring to the tone. It's quite hard to explain but I'll try. If you look at a dark tone more like it's one end of a spectrum with the other end being a bright tone then I find that helps. Brightness refers to a more shrill, piercing, light kinda sound whereas darkness refers to duller, thicker and kinda punchy sound. I like to envision it as almost like a light in a room but the light switch has a dimmer on it so you can control how bright the light is and then think about how that level of light would sound if it were a sound (I don't know if that makes sense but that's how I see it). it is girl, it is easir to phrase and harmonize in spanish. That's why sometimes in english if you don't have a beautiful tone, you won't sound so good

Christina Aguilera's father is originally from Equador. Christina Aguilera is actually not a native Spanish speaker, but she has lots of material in Spanish. I think the reason why she sounded like she had an easier time singing "Me Acuerdo de TĂ" than "Beautiful" is because she took it easier on herself to sing the second song since it is not really in her native language.

my voice sounds best in french- this language is flawless, elegant, has a great natural placement, alos the belts sound elegantly massive- not tasteless- listen to celine or lara fabian in french or Barbra: Aigle noir ( not B. Streisand), or Alisson Moyet or Dusty Sringfield singing in french- so great... and many more

Christina is and has always been my favorite singer. And I remember going to the music store with my mom when Mi Reflejo dropped and my mom was like, "Are you sure you want that? It's in Spanish." Of course I wanted it! I sat in my room, listened to that CD over and over and over until I could sing every song in Spanish right along with Christina. She is a force to be reckoned with. And her voice will always send shivers down my spine and bring tears to my eyes.
I love this comment. We finally have her back singing in Spanish after 22 years. It's awesome people who don't speak the language can appreciate how great Mi Reflejo is.

I totally agree! Her vocal tissues soften when she sings in Spanish. She becomes more receptive vs forward moving. She is in her divine feminine and at home with singing in her ancestral language. I can feel the frequency of home in this. Like pure flowing water.

Spanish & English are spoken in different places in your mouth. Your voice changes tone when you switch languages. Also Spanish is a more poetically expensive language. You can express things in so many different ways and with many different meanings.
She has such a beautiful head voice/falsetto I wish she would use it more. I loved both performances but the Spanish song definitely fit her voice better.
I am astonished by her RANGE! lows like I can do and highs that you can pick up on a radio!
BTW, IF you're going to move the mic away form your mouth during a live show, make sure you do it during the sound check, too. your engineer will thank you!

I think you are right that she seems more comfortable with the Spainish song. That was beautiful.
I agree with you, she is flawless and in Spanish she does sound more relaxed, and that's interesting since it is not her first language, but you can tell she knows it or at least understands it so well. I think it has to do with the fact that Spanish pronunciation implies the usage of opener vowels than in English pronunciation
Yup, totally on-point analysis. And that is why even being not native she sounds clearer and in control, because of the pronunciation requirements in Spanish that are more rigid and open-vowel driven.

Pero, was a song I grew up with and it made fall in love with Spanish music. I was shook, because I had never known Christina Aguilera as a Latina, but I love that she gave us this.
I would pay ANYTHING Tara charges for lessons from her....
I have learned so many nuggets from her.... She's so quick to pick up on things that untrained ears cant notice....like that part of "no they can't"...and its even better when she actually does the example....
My favorite one was recently with All I Want for Christmas (iiiiiis....YOUUUUU)...i tell you that i got COMPLETELY GATHERED when Ms. Tara explained that in the studio, Mariah must have placed her mouth differently to get that crisp note...and went in to explaine that us comm folk are so used to seeing her do it in video and for aesthetic purposes they shoot differently....
I tell you that when i did it that way it came out Waaayyyyy better...

If i'm not mistaken, that album is still the highest selling spanish album of all time..... but regardless of units moved, to me, the album is a masterpiece....i remember i would put it on to get ready for work every morning....beginning to end.... (same goes for Toni Braxton's "Secrets"....no need to skip a track on either of those)
