@@anthonybravo7079 The only thing he's implying is you have to be physically fit and have the core control to lift yourself up with just your abs, which I'm going to make a wild guess and say the majority of people in the comments don't have

Hey, I was able to do it in about 30mî, here are some tips that would have helped me : 1 - This trick is 80% about having a good form, So record yourself in order to see what’s bad in your moov. ( Or do it with a friend that can tell you what’s wrong) 2 - You have to really push at the same time with legs+hand in order to really get high 3 - Once you are in the air, use your abs in order to get vertical !
I CAN NOW DO IT CONSISTENTLY!! Few misconceptions: 1. Most people think the kip up is a motion powered by your triceps, or your arms in general. Instead, the momentum of a kip up is generated by using the legs, and the arms are just for stability and a little extra push. 2. Most people tend to get their legs up and down but then land on their back because they can’t bring their body back up. This is where you must propel your legs while bringing your body along with it, instead of two separate groups. 3. Your legs must shoot up first, then pull down in an arc for your body to be able to follow with it and go upwards. 4. USE UR ABS AND DONT GIVE UP !!! Do not give up. This took me a few days to land, and I learned a lot along the way. I recommend recording yourself attempting it, and even though it seems cringe, it will help because you will be able to see what ur doing wrong. YOU GOT DIS
Well, it took me approximately seven hours of falling and failing, but hey, now I am finally able to do kip-ups without a problem! Finally got that off my must-learn list! No pain no gain! Thanks so much for this video! God bless you!
That was the hardest part for me... Firstly the exercises he mentioned in the video are really helpful! But speaking more from my experience, just be sure to time it right, and pull up with all your upper body muscles. So pull your neck, arms (extend the arms too like "serena" mentioned for more energy shift), and shoulders up like half a second after you kick your legs (as the momentum is shifting), and that should bring your legs down so you can land right. But if your a normal human like me, even if someone told me this it would still take me forever... So don't lose hope or get discouraged, just keep trying--that's the bottom line to everything, just keep practicing and you'll get it. Hope that was helpful! Good luck!
It's really all in the arms. I did this for days and couldn't land one. I was just throwing my feet at the ground over and over. I thought I was just lacking the core strength to muscle my upper body forward but it turned out I was just not pushing hard enough with my hands. If you're having a similar problem then I would recommend you try this, really extend and _push_ with your arms as fast and hard as you can. Note: Bridge pushups are an excellent drill for this. It is essentially the same movement and builds upper body strength
My problem was the chest. If you bring your chest up quickly you won't fall in your back, just with your ass. And if you practice more you will get it. In fact there is a push up without hands. So hands are not the main thing. The important is the thecnic of your legs to throw yourself up and forward. And up your body quickly. Not the hands
Francesca McKenzie it’s not the child pose. The child pose has the arms behind them not in front. That is the hero’s pose not to be confused with the sitting hero’s pose
Fun fact, some insects, e.g. greenfly, that can produce themself asexualy (like kind of clones of themself, parthenogenetic) .. can be born pregnant. I.e. the baby greenfly (nymph) as it comes out of it's mum .. is already a mum to be.
I also was able to land one on my second try. It's possible if you already have enough hip mobility & strength and only need to learn the proper sequence of movements
I do martial arts, and have been trying to do a kick up for many years unsuccessfully. But, thanks to your amazing video, instruction, and breakdown, I finally managed to get it in a few day's time! I can do it almost perfectly now! Thanks!
Dude. This is honestly one of the best athletic tutorials I've ever seen. When My mamma told me to learn this .I just started laughing looking at the head lines- kip ups in just 5 minutes. But when tried I really got it in just 5 minutes. Loved his techniques.
Nice video. Good breakdown and demonstrations of each of the parts of the technique. I haven't done one of these since I was 18, but I might try it again doing it your way. If nothing else the rolling back and pointing your legs up looks like it would make a good workout all by itself if you did like 20-30 reps of it.
I have been working on developping general explosiveness to my movements, and I went from not being able to do a butterfly kick to being able to do one over a two month training stent. So my baseline isn't zero, but I aint no hero. I fumbled with this kip up for a day, maybe 20 attempts, only like 10 of them genuine full energy. Next day I FOCUSED a little more, got some matts out, got it on the 5th go. It's doable for all the mere mortals out there. Keep it going. I'm also turning 31 in a few weeks. If I can do it, so can you.

Roll back & place your hands 2. kick up with your legs 3.Push up with your hands 4. Thrust your arms & chest forward to land it. Make sure to kick up your legs before you push with your hands. Do not do it at the same time.
What really helped me was using my back. I’d say spring with your legs when your back is rolled in it’s apex will give you that momentum required. It’s like jumping in a roll position
Skipped some parts and did it in 10 seconds. Thank you. I don't recommend skipping if you're new at these stuff it CAN go wrong. Especially watch your leg placement when landing. I'm trained at these stuff just needed to know where to place my hand lol.
As a yoga doer doctor doctor health good doer exercist Pregnant baby pose has many health benefits I'm glad this was shown in the video I'm truly grateful
Thank you so much. I've always wanted to do a kip up and never could get it. By the 5th time I nailed it!! Still haven't gotten the backflip yet :) Love all your videos!
If you're fit and flexible already - sure. If you are a genuine beginner or have poor flexibility, core strength or simply can't get out of a chair without making that audible grown - don't try to get this in 5 minutes. This guy means well, but obviously has little experience working with people who are much less fit than him. I have students (Martial arts) whos wrists are not even flexible or strong enough for this yet, let alone what he's asking you to do with the core and spine.
Exactly. One thing I've learned as an athlete who's gone sedentary and then trying to be active again is just how weak, uncoordinated, and immobile the average person is. Things I thought were absolutely braindead easy to do before are now challenges I have to progress through. Changed my world perspective, and I could finally understand the mentality average people have about PA being dangerous and impossible to do.
@@cautarepvp2079 Yes, physical activity. Even the most basic activities I used to do are seemingly impossible now. That's how the typical person is. Now I understand their apprehension and sense of not being able to do things.

@@niveetbandu4207 Yeah, I think it can be done in 5 minutes if one already has the required strength in all the right areas. When trying to do it, I learned I don't (yet).
@@khalibra8834 Bro, if you landing on your back , try pushing more harder and don't rry kip up with legs joined , land with lega opened . With thia you'll land low ( in a squat position ) but it's fine as a beginner level . Still you can flex in front of your friends. Also , try pushing harder with hands and just try bringing upper body up , you'll get it . I can just suggest , you have to practice . Good luck
i was able to get this one done when i was something like 14 years old (23 now), i was constantly trying to imitate the "Leon from resident evil 4 way of standing up", i didn't even knew how the move was called. after months of trying it everytime i had a soft surface available, i was able to land it in an acceptable way, after discovering it was really helpful to use your hands to get height so my tip is, try to coordinate the impulse from your arms and legs at the exact time, and push with your arms as hard as you can, dont get lazy and kick like you want to hit the ceiling with your foot, and try to dont over roll so you wont end up hitting your knees edit: you don't have to be an gym rat to pull it off, i was and i'm still a very skinny person with next to no physical training besides the one i had at school so trust yourself
All thanks to you 🙏😇 . Because of this tutorial , I learned kick up (*finally ) . Although it took me a week to bring full kick-up in action but nevertheless , it was fun 😅😇💯

What really helped me was using my back. I’d say spring with your legs when your back is rolled in it’s apex will give you that momentum required. It’s like jumping in a roll position
I wont stop until i master the fliping style and the kip up thank you bruh,God bless to all😇🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻Lets keep practicing.
Skipped some parts and did it in 10 seconds. Thank you. I don't recommend skipping if you're new at these stuff it CAN go wrong. Especially watch your leg placement when landing. I'm trained at these stuff just needed to know where to place my hand lol.
Wow!!! I got it!! Not in five minutes but in 10. Still got results in a short amount of time!!!! Thanks so much!!!!
As a yoga doer doctor doctor health good doer exercist Pregnant baby pose has many health benefits I'm glad this was shown in the video I'm truly grateful
you are a great teacher dude
Thank you so much. I've always wanted to do a kip up and never could get it. By the 5th time I nailed it!! Still haven't gotten the backflip yet :)
Love all your videos!
Bad Monkey I thought that was obvious bro if you can barely get out of a chair you’re not gonna get off the ground
Exactly. One thing I've learned as an athlete who's gone sedentary and then trying to be active again is just how weak, uncoordinated, and immobile the average person is. Things I thought were absolutely braindead easy to do before are now challenges I have to progress through. Changed my world perspective, and I could finally understand the mentality average people have about PA being dangerous and impossible to do.
no dude if youre decrepit then youre a moron to try to do something like this. dont talk bad about him when you can't even understand that
@@Un1234l what is PA?
Also.. being active physically helps alot right?
@@cautarepvp2079
Yes, physical activity. Even the most basic activities I used to do are seemingly impossible now. That's how the typical person is. Now I understand their apprehension and sense of not being able to do things.
Got it first try. Thanks💪
Wow that looks so cool. I’ve always wanted to do this and am definitely gonna try it.
Awesome tutorial guys!!! I’m 6’5” 235lbs and 45 and I really want to do this move! Just subbed!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Did you do it?
Still working on it!👊🏾
@@plyodaddyfitnessplyometric4579 same here 💪
@@diobrando5415 yeah man pretty sure my size has a lot to do with it 😅
I'm 6'5 and 240, you got this. Use all that motion you can generate with your weight flex really hard and really explode. I did like 15 terrible ones in like 45 minutes
"but you gotta Focus"

Thank you I kept on trying and now I can do the kip up but I found the back flip hard ,nice video
Thank you so much, my kids will learn it soon now.
One minute silence for that persons who are thinking that she learnt in 5 min
But it works, took me 3 months... But 5 mins a day of that... Trust me bro
@@niveetbandu4207 Yeah, I think it can be done in 5 minutes if one already has the required strength in all the right areas. When trying to do it, I learned I don't (yet).
@@EstrellaViajeViajero You just need to be really fit
DeyvelX No, you also Need the technique.I am really fit but still suck.
Good luck
i was able to get this one done when i was something like 14 years old (23 now), i was constantly trying to imitate the "Leon from resident evil 4 way of standing up", i didn't even knew how the move was called. after months of trying it everytime i had a soft surface available, i was able to land it in an acceptable way, after discovering it was really helpful to use your hands to get height
so my tip is, try to coordinate the impulse from your arms and legs at the exact time, and push with your arms as hard as you can, dont get lazy and kick like you want to hit the ceiling with your foot, and try to dont over roll so you wont end up hitting your knees
edit: you don't have to be an gym rat to pull it off, i was and i'm still a very skinny person with next to no physical training besides the one i had at school
so trust yourself
All thanks to you 🙏😇 . Because of this tutorial , I learned kick up (*finally ) . Although it took me a week to bring full kick-up in action but nevertheless , it was fun 😅😇💯
Great work man
I admire it
Guys be patient! The rolling part is the One needing the most practice before utilizing the push. I have done this for a few days and I'm starting to get the hang of it
