    For me, she is the kind of artist that when she starts singing I get totaly elgulfed in the music and I just don't want it to end.
    Not all of her songs, but this one is one of them.

    This entire concert is brilliant. I can’t stop listening. I can even meditate or fall asleep to it. Or dance around and really feeling it. She said she was a really say “ odd” child and did not want to perform. She wrote constantly as a child and she wrote a song for her parents that she recorded at school in 4 hrs. Her parents did not know she could sing. Her friend posted it on CZcams. She was contacted by her management I think three or three and a half weeks later. We are lucky to have her!! Her sisters do her makeup and clothes. Yup, she does her hair cutting and likes the smell of sweat!

    The first time I watched this performance I started ugly sobbing, this song is my second favorite by hers (my first is I Went Too Far) and this performance shows so much emotion and will always give me chills

    I recommend Churchyard from the KEXP Session and Under the water from the Honda Stage concert. These are two midtempo songs like Silhouettes.

    She said once that the song is simply about being pushed out of a window by her lover and being killed, but it was open to interpretation. Lol! She has a lot of dark songs. I know you want to watch the entire Nidarosdomen concert! You may as well go ahead and do Lucky from that concert next. Another dark one.....from the mind of a 9 year old child. Or if you want to take a break from the magnificence that is her Nidarosdomen concert, check out the official video for Winter Bird. It's so good! Probably the only Aurora song that I like the video better than the live Nidarosdomen performance.

    More AURORA my dude; I'll watch every one. Her cover of "God is a Woman" by Ariana Grande has been a recent binge for me, but all of her OC between her 3 different albums are excellent as well, and live versions are obv the go-to to showcase her talent.
    Also my cat's the same way lol

    What you say about her performance being "animated", theatrical or so is not actually an acting. When she sings, or "performs" you can tell she´s somewhere else. Notice how sometimes, at the end of her songs, she shakes her head or does something similar, like she´s "coming back" to reality.

    • @spontiggia8391
      @spontiggia8391 Před 4 lety +2

    Awww I know this was loooong ago but I was so waiting for you to check on this specific song lyrics and talk a bit about them... Like you did with the ones in the past (Of this one). I started watching your reactions of Aurora from the best and I made it here so far.

    Hey Mace. It's really nice you react to AURORA 'cause she's amazing. For the next song I'd recommend to react to Soft Universe (Live in Nidarosdomen) but you can basically pick any song from that concert and it's gonna be a great one because the whole concert is just miracle. Or if you wanna watch something newer, you can check Aurora - Churchyard (Live on KEXP). The whole band shines in this one. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy :)

    This song is written by Aurora herself. It is a song about the aftermath of a rape. Then the lyrics speaks for itself. But, it can also be your own interpretation and mean what you want it to mean. Thanks for reacting to it! Awesome concert too by the way. Check it out if you haven't already. Also, Nidarosdomen is a cathedral in Trondheim, Norway. Amazing venue.

      Actually, according to what Aurora said one of her latest live streams, this song is about two lovers and their tragic story because one kills the other or something like that

  • @TheNortibia
    @TheNortibia Před 4 lety

    Auroras song are always open to interpretations, and it depends on your own POV when you listen.. but I heard that this song is connected to the "54321 murder song", and that it is about abusive relationships, as she always take up big social issues in her music. this is my interpretation thou, but when you read the lyrics while she sings, combined with her dramatic scene presence. it hit hard. I just love Aurora, for daring taking up such important issues in her music.

    • @MemuSnow
      @MemuSnow Před rokem

      The murder song is not related. It is about assisted suicide. It Happened Quiet is, apparently, about domestic abuse.
      It is frustrating that many reactors comment on her performance, or analyse her vocal anatomy, or her dancing and hand motions, or the beauty of the stringed instruments but fail to connect with her and the emotions she is sharing. Her facial expressions and a word in the lyrics taken out of context will stereotype the song as vaguely being dark; Then we move on and talk about cats, dogs, the weather …… whatever. We miss the emotional impact of the assisted suicide or domestic abuse stories she is telling by not listening or not having he close captions available. 😢

    Suggestion below, but first want to say that your reactions to Aurora are really unique in the way you see the light hidden in the darkness of her songs, as well as the darkness hidden in the light. WOW!
    Some years ago she did a norse mythology song together with a man ( Wardruna ) really specialzing in this. It is the norse variety of requiem, sung to lead the dead to the afterlife in Hel (NOT to be confused with anglosaxon/christian Hell)
    czcams.com/video/FnkTuHP9q3o/video.html
    It is sung in old norwegian, which I understand you do not speak, but there is a lyrics translation in the commentary.
    If you liked the vocal harmonies by Aurora you will find the origin of them here, mostly in threefold minor harmony.
    I ( and many others ) would so much appreciate your reaction here

    A man rapes a woman, kills her and buries her in his garden. The woman's restless ghost then terrorizes the rapist. Or the guilty conscience haunts the man because he hadn't intended it that way and it was more or less an act of affect.
    In any case, he will be pursued by his act from now on.
