Most variants could lift greater loads than the Messerschmitt Bf 109. As a result, the Focke-Wulf was used as a day fighter, fighter-bomber, ground attack aircraft, and night fighter.     Absolutely LOVE my phoenix FW, granted it has a 26cc in it but dhe still gets up and goes pn a 16x8 prop
    .1/4oz weight glued inside front of cowl and x3 6.5 nimh batteries mounted on engine box. Gave me the perfect CG. I will say compared to my hanger 9 p47 with a 30cc engine. This plane is a handful at full throttle and on landings. If u plan to fly this model fast. Make sure to follow the recommended control surface Throws. Cause on high rates ziz gaman plane is a doozy and quite sznappy.....lol

    Nice plane!
    Love the wide tall landing gear on these 190's😀
    I understand that earlier models had a narrow landing gear that easily caused tip overs on the ground.

      It was evident in that video. Sure alot of guys (as he mentioned) go up a little in engine size, but those who make that jump are either bad asses or post to the S.A.D. Facebook page. It is evident that he confidently says " here...hold my beer"

    Im not typically a butcher bird guy but thats pretty nice. Old school not using a chicken stick to start tgat engine lol. Nice flight.

    Put a 3 blade prop on the motor and lower the distance from the propeller to the ground

    Leaving a gas engine rich, during break in does not provide significant amounts of additional lubrication, don't tune it to where the engine glows red, but letting it bubble is just a bad idea.

    i would put a proper 3 bladed prop on it and you would be able to go down and inch in diameter and have more ground clearance for the propeller as well.

      That is correct! I already have a 20x15 that I am going to try to pick up some top speed. And I have a 17x21 that I will try if needed but I doubt that it will. I don’t want to over fly the airframe and destroy it. Thanks for watching!

    What muffler is Wayne using , ?? Has a Dam good upline as it look's ,

      It’s just the stock muffler that came with the engine. I paid $180 delivered to my door for the whole engine! I just had to cut the little exhaust pipe so it wouldn’t look so ugly. Thanks for watching the show and the comment!

    Hello Jeff/Wayne,
    I’m preparing the same model and like to put a Saito FG33-R3 radial engine on it.
    It’s just a less more heavier than your DLE55 with ignition and exhaust (6 ounce heavier).
    Regarding the total weight of the model; do you have the mechanical retracts or the Phoenix electrical retracts for this plane?
    I bought a pair of these, but they a realy heavy. Weight for both is about 19 ounce!
    Can you give me an indication of the total weight of your plane?

      Total weight less fuel is @ 14.5lbs
      It came with the electric retracts in the kit but the electric double reduction gears are all plastic and strip out really easy. I removed the electric drives and installed a standard servo on both sides to actuate each gear. The actual mechanical part of the gear are really good and never had a problem with any mechanical parts. I made some linkage with some 4/40 push rods and it works really good every time.
      The radial 33cc will work fine. The extra weight is minimal and shouldn’t be any problem. I don’t know why but this 190 just floats off of the ground with no flaps like a butter fly and lands about the same. We got about 135mph with a 20x15 prop. I can push it another 8mph faster with a 20x16 prop. I’m afraid to push it any faster than that. Yours will fly great. Good luck!

    I’m building this right now and the retracts don’t seem to drop straight down 90 degrees from the wing. Yours appears to be a little like that too. Or it’s a trick of the camera.
    Did you notice anything with your gears not seeming to drop a full 90 from the closed position?

      I just build mine and i have the electric retracts and like you said it’s not 90 defrees i think its normal lol

      @@dayrondltit seems they’re scale minus the actual axle should be angled so atleast the wheel is straight up and down.
      I found a pair for a phoenix model Strega that are super close in all the measurements I may use instead. Let me know and I can send you a link to them. I think they’re only 60$ or so.

      No nose weight needed and getting ready to install a 20x15 prop to pick up another 25mph after the break in. Purpose built for the local Gaggle. Not just a regular scale warbird to fly on the weekend. Thanks for watching!

      Hoping to purchase FW and use a DLE 20cc approximately how much nose weight to achieve neutral CG? The difference in weight between a DLE 20RA and a DLE 55RA is 1.7 lbs (1.7 : 3.4 each engine wts) that's pretty big amount.
