What is the "drilling rig" he keeps speaking of?
Pretty much confirms this video was done by an AI Chatbot like ChatGPT. Sucks.
Going to be a crazy future.
Where does this updated information come from?
"There are sources from insiders" riiiight

Drilling rig? They use those to drill holes in the ground. Semi's are often called big rigs, I've never heard them called driving rigs. How did drilling rig get into your script (3 or 4 times!)?
I call my male unit a rig. Perhaps there are more than a couple uses of that word. Triggered?
@@kyledmorgan Wikipedia does NOT have a disambiguation page for "drilling rig" & google only gives one definition. I don't know how they confused "big rig" with "drilling rig", they are very different.
4:24 Why on earth would they move the driver's position away from the middle??!! Its perfect for every market in the world - eliminating any issue with Left / Right hand drive systems. Where did you get that idea from?
It's obvious from your opinion that you may have never sat in a semi let alone drive one. I am all for EV's but until their battery charging times are similar to refuelling time for an ICE vehicle. ON a coast to coast run, it would take an extra day and a half to charge the battery. Tesla claimed it to have “built it around the driver,” but that is just nonsense. Starting by how much space it just wastes with its central seating position. While that is the one the McLaren F1 adopted, it works better on hypercars than on trucks. The central driving position makes it more challenging to look ahead and overtake. That happens because a truck is a wide vehicle. If you are in the middle of the cabin, you are far from the edge of the lane, where you have a better view of the traffic ahead. On a two-way road, that’s also where you can see oncoming traffic. Truck drivers have to pay tolls, talk to people in gatehouses, and handle the paperwork while entering a factory or delivering anything. The Semi does not give access to a window. In fact, it has no windows that can be opened: the driver will have to get up from their seat, open the door and deal with whatever they need - even in the winter. Talking about cold weather, having the doors in the back of the cabin will force the driver to walk a bit to reach their seats. In the winter, with muddy boots, doing that will mess up the cabin interior. A truck with doors that give direct access to the driver’s seat prevents that from happening: they can take off their boots and just walk barefoot in the cabin.
That would be especially useful for trucks with a bed. The Semi apparently does not offer one, which is another flaw in the electric truck’s concept. If you think it through, it also speaks a bunch about the limited use the truck will have, almost like a Class 8 last-mile truck, if that even exists. A hypothetical bed could be in the back, but it is not there because that’s where the Semi has its doors. Another option would be to put a bed above the windscreen. Even if the Semi was not conceived for long trips - as the lack of a bed suggests - people driving at night often find it useful to take a quick nap to keep driving safely.
The massive screens inside the Semi are dangerous. The “tablets" are simply not designed for use in moving vehicles. Drivers need physical buttons that they can reach without taking their eyes off the road. They reflect stuff and glow too much, even in dark mode, which makes them terrible for night driving.
I am also not happy about the rear-view mirrors. Thanks to the central driving position (again) and the cabin being narrower in the front, Tesla had to place them in really long arms. If they get dirty (and they eventually will), the driver will not reach them easily to clean them.
Tesla seems particularly proud of: the bullet shape of the cabin, which imposes an angled windscreen. As aerodynamic as that is, it would only help snow build up on top of it. People who find it difficult to clean a passenger car's windscreen in the winter should have fun doing so on a glass surface sitting ten feet above the ground. Vertical windscreens do not have that issue. In the summer, the angled windscreen will turn the cabin into a glasshouse.
So there you have a semi driver's view of this foolish waste of engineering talent.
By installing at least one super charger next by regular gas stations it would help a lot to mitigate the need of the service.
maybe we can get a Tesla RV
As said, "await information from Tesla", admitting that we have no clue about anything more than they will change their revolutionary design towards what truck manufacturers deliver today. Mass production of trucks is also a new for truck industry. Usually trucks are customer orders as they are scheduled for assembly when a customer places an order and the customer knows the cost and the manufacturer knows he gets paid. Trucks are to expensive to build for shelf as you do with cheap consumables and therefore production capacity is based on forecasts unless the state subsidises 85% of the BEV truck/semi cost as for PepsiCo, then you cannot lose! The sleeper semi will not be sold outside the US as many countries have a length restriction on the total length, meaning that a large cabin will intrude on load capacity. This is the reason the semis in Europe are COE, Cab Over Engine.
Tongetha my family ,congratulations Tesla company Good, job ❤❤❤
Not sure why you keep saying drilling rig. There is no drilling rig in this video.
You have left out one significant cost of diesel trucks, namely oil changes filter changes engine rebuilds, ect. etc. ect..
None of this is necessary for electric vehicles.
23 cents per kWh, as National average, that's bs.
We have rates as low as 7.5 cents per kWh, with 13.5 cents base commercial rate.
Also why do repeat everything 3 times, save time do it once, just once
I would think selling semi's for distribution with a single seat and no sleeping space from would be fine for the next two or three years. Why offer many more variants yet.
I think once battery packs are more available and more charging stations that are Tesla Semi compatible are available, Tesla is going to sell a lot of these trucks. A huge advantage of this truck is that you won't bog down going uphill, going only slightly slower than driving on flat land.
what if your trailer was cover in solar
M.MUSK and team!💪
So when did they raise the weight limit to 82,000 lb,s gross if they can gross this wt then all truck,s should be allowed the same advantage

might be okay in California ONLY
why didn't you go with a water engyen ? Water is better =Hydrogyn
I disagree that the weight will change much with a sleeper cab - lol
Yes
Wow 😊
Chargers were shut last night . It’s -40
Shame Elon didn't make CT w More Range...
They are only good at carrying bags of air around it seems.
Dude, please pay attention to editing...😎
When EV owners are required to pay road use taxes, as fuel vehicle owners now pay at the pump, then the true cost per mile will be known. EV owners are getting a free ride right now. This should change.
Evs in general are getting a free ride when it comes to energy use. A megacharger for 10 of these would need about as much energy as 50k homes. It's ridiculous.
still bad for Busness
This guy should have been around in the 1970,s when it was get in sit down shut up and hang on were going to the coast from the Midwest in 28 to 32 hr,s or you were running late ! Same way on the return trip why do you think they called it fresh produce think I'm kidding been there done that !

Is the new factory aimed at the hydrogen system ?
No freightliner goes up to 1050hp lol you should do better research on trucks before throwing out info that isn’t fact
Wow please look around where are you going to charge one of these if they go over the road? Been to alot of trucks stops haven't seen any. Lol
Putting the seat on the left is such a disappointment.
I wouldn't want to sleep in it while charging. 💥
wouldn't buy one if I were a Truck driver ONLY 300 / 500 Miles NOT WORTH IT
go to Hydrogen power
Wait a min don't black truck,s live,s matter ? Say it,s not so Say it,s not so ! 🤗🤗
why not build a in motion Generator ? when the wheels turn it Generates electricity to recharge as it goes / That way it goes Further ?
Better yet, put some wind turbines on top and produce electricity.
Battery pacs ??? Hey ! Who are you to talk about-it ? Listen, just for a second....Go back to school and learn a bit about it ! Does'nt matter how many batteries are connected together as long as they are well connected in series not in parralel ;) It always depends what is your goal ? Batteries in your cars are DC volts mostley 12 - 24 VDC, wich make no difference between - or + until you don't follow where the ( GROUND ) is located ! Which does'nt existed in DC voltage ! DC voltage power is going in both directions which is not the case with AC voltage ! If you cry, go back to school ;)
Electric might be good IF you get rid of the Heavy Batteries just use a Magnet Powered generator to make the electric
That's incredible. I just did the math, and the semi is more than twice as efficient as the Cyber Truck. Amazing! Musk and Tesla have ignored physics.
Show your work
I‘d go even further, it is unbelievable good.
You're not taking regen braking/downhill into account. The extra weight of a Semi keeps it's momentum, capable of overriding the magnetic resistance of regen systems which car/pickup sized EV's would suffer from causing them to slow down. If you understood Physics, you wouldn't make incorrect comments about Physics...🤦♂️
@@alexmanojlovic768 Newtons Laws of motion apply equally to both the Cyber Truck and the Semi. The only variable is the potential loss in conservation of energy.
@@TheBagOfHolding Given that the semi is roughly 10x the weight of the CT and has roughly 10x the battery storage of the EV, yet only use roughly 4 times the power to traverse the same distance, it's about 2.5 times more efficient isn't it? Truly amazing.
This thing is incredible. It only consumes 2kwh per mile (@ 82,000lbs!) at 60 mph. That's only 120kwh per 60miles, per hour! A regular ICE semi doing the same job would be fitted with a 400+kwh energy source (engine) to do the same amount of work and it needs force multipliers (gears) to accelerate and to negotiate hills.
Amazing. No wonder the Californian government was so keen to gift Pepsi all those semis out of the goodness of the taxpayer's heart.
Stock pump. These things will never work
How much cargo does it haul for 1,000+ miles? Why can't anyone answer this question which has been asked for 7 years.
Probaly 40% of a full load
Like 15-20,000lbs of pepsi products probably got that 1000mi
I am pretty sure that why musk allowed it to be sold to Pepsi Co. They would be carrying bags of air around either way.
Your reviews have very negative slant, not worth watching as is.
Swagger stage left and exit.
Electric Might work in city But not open road
Hydrogen if cheaper . Lighter , Goes farther , and Weight is a lot Better on ALL Roadways
SEND ONE TO IOWA TODAY! IT WONT MAKE IT CAUSE ITS TOO COLD FOR BATTTTTTEERRRRIES
THE SOLUTION OF RECHARGING TESLA BIG RIGS IS TO MANUFACTURE THE TRAILER WITH SOLAR PANELS ON THE ROOF OF THE RIG... NO PROBLEM FOR TESLA OR ELON...
Even a Semi trailer roof loaded with Solar panels can't generate enough electricity to make a difference to the range, especially when considering the extra cost.
10 of these consume as much power as 50k median homes. No reneawable source would fuel these energy sinkholes.
@@porcus123 because petrol/diesel are made from unicorn p155 & Faerie dust with no cost to society & 100% of their emissions are cleaned up with the emissions hardware, which was pulled through a black hole into this universe by white wizard magick??!!🤦♂️🤡🤡
What problem does this ridiculous vehicle solve?
Redundant human drivers.
Road freight without destroying the biosphere.
It's an idiot detection system.
Change your channel name to dupe central. Do you every do any fact checking before you regurgitate what ever the maker says? Tesla Semi won't go into "mass production" Tesla can't make the downgraded 4680 batteries they put in it efficiently. Total they have made according to Tesla 20 million; many of which are no good; but even if they were all good that is only enough for 1200 Tesla Semis or 16,000 Cybertrucks - would you make Cybertrucks for 100,000 each or Semi's for 178,000?.
You are dull as ... it
Calm the eff down.
