Yes. The elite is the face of the company . Without them, there’s no aew. Dont mind if ftr, or punk, or moxley leaves.. bcoz THE ELITE is AEW. Kenny and the bucks changed the pro wrestling. They produced some of greatest match in pro wrestling history.
Judging from the ratings guys like punk, ftr, mjf, danielson, acclaimed, Christian, wardlow, Darby etc are pulling I don't really think so, and plus there were moments the elite weren't on TV but aew didn't really loose viewership

Those matches were good but it was a case of the journey being way better than the destiny. The Kenny Omega (and The Elite) vs Adam Page (and Dark Order) feud/storyline was lit but Hangman's reign was bland.
He had some very good matches but definitely had the weakest reign that lasted longer than a week

This video has made me feel lucky and grateful to live every piece of this story (and even more stuff that were satellite to this story like Okada, Naito, Styles, etc.) During those years I was struggling with college final years and their storyline was the most fascinating thing to watch back then. But right now we are living in a jeopardy, TK may have a new partner in CM Punk given his numbers and the recent ROH purchase.
I don't get it. How do vets like Jericho, Danielson, Cole, Moxley, etc. get along w/ these guys but Punk can't? This is getting better by the minute.

I’m indifferent on the Elite but I will say one of the best shows I ever went to was for ROH in San Antonio in October/November 2017. The main event featured So Cal Underrated + Flip Gordon vs Kenny, the bucks, Cody and Stephen Amell. The energy inside that gutted out grocery store where the event was held was something else. Kenny was still white hot due to his work vs Okada and other NJPW stars and it was pretty cool to see him in such a bare bones venue. To their credit the elite literally sat at a table for probably 2.5 hours signing autographs before they came out in the main event/

I mean I was one of those that came to follow AEW because of the elite too but even I can acknowledge the flaws in their styles and attitudes. They may be great, but they have the same issues as Punk in believing their own hype and not being willing to listen to legitimate criticism.

Its not the end. IMO AEW can easily survive loosing them. This is where the roster is extremely bloated will come in handy. That just means Andrade, Miro, Malakai, etc can jump to the front. Mox, Punk, Jericho, Joe, claudio are all on par or bigger depending on name. AEWs will be fine
The Elite can go back to japan and AEW can have Mark Henry, Big Show, Jericho, and William Regal take over the positions and help with booking

The Elite generally aren’t my style but can’t help but respect fhe hustle and all the stuff they accomplished in non traditional ways outside of the Fed. The stuff they were doing for merch and such is impressive as hell. So for me even if they aren’t my personal taste it’ll always be dope that they went from being basically unknown to pumping merch on their own, the first All In, and becoming major pieces of launching AEW. Quite a rise through none of the normal methods you’d see in let’s say ten years time. All respect in that.

Omega and the Young Bucks are my favorite modern wrestlers, and I think it's sad that their work with AEW might come to an end due to Tony Khan's inability to treat CM Punk the way he deserves. I really hope It's all a work, because The Elite deserve more.

I don't get the combines about them not story telling. Their whole life is a story that they bring into the ring. The WWE current equivalent was the New Day (on par with DX all time) and they never got the same amount of heat. What boring is bringing in a diva like Punk who became the Hogan/HHH that he railed against.

Not really an unreasonable move to make, especially with the amount of time he’d been away and the pressure that came with his return needing to be a big success. But what’s also fair to point out is that he began genuine talks to join the company long before he actually did but when the pandemic happened he and Tony both agreed that they should wait for fans to be back But it should also be recognized that big names like Jericho and Jim Ross both spoke that the contracts and multi year guarantees they got was s major factor of joining right away. Jericho mentioned how the guarantee assured him of making the move and Tony’s commitment to the company. So yes they jumped right away but they did so with major paying guaranteed deals backed by a billionaire family which made it safe to jump. If the company flopped they still made millions and could join up elsewhere. For Punk he wanted to see how Tony operates first and that’s simply smart business even if it rubbed others wrong

You got some of it wrong. Double or Nothing and AEW were announced for the first time in BTE. The whole Marty and Kota things with them leaving the factions happened some time after. Kota was still signed with NJPW and Marty chose to stay with ROH once his deal with over. His ended a few months after the rest of the Elite's deals, and then he had chosen to sign again to become a talent and booker.

Thanks to the elite I like aew now it's been a year since I first started watching aew. The whole back stage issues after all out I blame Punk. I like punk the wrestler but there's a time and a place to let it out an that wasn't it. Everyone was involved got suspended that's the right call.
