I use simple green and set my ultrasonic cleaner to 65 degrees celsius
Simple green discolors aluminum, especially carbs. Purple power is even worse. Try the Master Stages 2020.

Nutter! I have a 96 XLT with reverse chaincase and a 97 purple top 700 with no reverse chaincase. I want to put the reverse on the 700. Couple questions.. Is the chain case body compatible with one another? Can I take the components from the 600 and fit them into the 700?
I don't follow what you mean by a purple top 700. If they are both wedges just swap the whole case.

Re: bottom reverse chaincase bolt, zip tie the spring closed in the vice first, cut the ties once the bolt is started
