This is perfect advice for those who have already established clients and business. But in the act of expanding you approach them in thia way to possible gain more work. Its a very good free alternative of getting into a networking group too. Rather than joining a bni or something similar. I do the same with my clientele only for the ones that i really enjoy working with.
So my question is... how can I best help someone if I don't know anyone yet, in terms of referring them to anything outside of what I do. What if you're that early in your entrepreneurship journey and moved somewhere totally new 😅 I'd love to be able to help outside of my own expertise at times.
I think the best way if to find collabs that will help you expand that expertise network. I am just creating portfolio (starting) for brands products expansion, and trust me, I don't know anyone personally yet. But I do know the guy who is running his beekeping business. He also knows bunch of other people. If I'm able to sell him this idea (and as much as I'm biased, I do think it's a great idea to expand and get new income stream with almost zero investment), he might be able to get me referrals. So what am I doing for free now? Working on my website, creating mock ups, so people can look at examples and see it working for their own business. I need to put that work in first and most like I will have to start with cold leads. But I am willing to put in the work.
Establishing genuine relationships and understanding the principle of reciprocity can indeed transform how potential clients connect with your business. 🔑
Tell people, i’ll do this for you, if you don’t like it you don’t have to pay for it, if you like it pay what you want. Or just offer them free service to build your portfolio, or tell them, I’ll do this for you for free if you can refere me to someone. Beginnings are hard and uncomfortable. Get a list of businesses online, pick a niche, watch cold call videos and scripts on youtube and get to it! Good luck!
Never ever work for free or for referals only. You will be treated badly, customer will not value your time and effort (you are free after all), you will not get payed, and you will not get referrals.
Yes, that's one of the first points he makes. The same way yo aren't thinking about your client's life they are also not think about how to make your business grow.
Need, desire, ask. "i hope youve enjoyed the work weve done and its hq work. I'm expanding my practice. would you need additional work or have someone else who could benefit?" your need statement your desire statement your ask. people are cliqued, can ask for the work. their identity system. helping people craft messaging. what is it you do? what value do you provide? who are you talking to? do i like them? can they afford me? do i want to work with them? reciprocity comes after the idea of "keeping it in the family." when you genuinely help someone, they feel indebted to you.
This hits home. This skill allowed our company to hit our first $1 million last year and 5x our Clients LTV . Keep up with the great you're doing!!

Great insights on the power of reciprocity in networking
Financial Advisors work on referrals. Some of the best advise, a sign that states Referrals are Welcome…no need to ask
Great video! Like always! 😊

word of mouth is king
Perfect!

Not desperate. Just hopeless. Gotta have customers to ask for the referrals.

Awesome
Is "asking" for client referrals necessary ? that should come from them without asking
Yes, that's one of the first points he makes. The same way yo aren't thinking about your client's life they are also not think about how to make your business grow.
I agree with you 100% Referral comes to us willingly we never ask for once... If you do a good jobs and deliver accurately referral comes with ease❤
Turn the baxkground music down
How insecure are those clients that are asking for referrals, you don’t want to work with them at all
That’s a reference. Not a referral. A referral is a recommendation for you. To get new clients.
@@thefutur my apologies, thanks for clarifying that.
Need, desire, ask.
"i hope youve enjoyed the work weve done and its hq work. I'm expanding my practice. would you need additional work or have someone else who could benefit?"
your need statement
your desire statement
your ask.
people are cliqued, can ask for the work.
their identity system.
helping people craft messaging.
what is it you do?
what value do you provide?
