- Ford, GM and RAM truck CEOs are still being dumb. Prices are at an all time high and their plans are backfiring in a huge way. Truck buyers are getting smarter and now there are better options for buying trucks in 2024. Here are some ridiculously overprice trucks and a few options that could save you some money this year.

Me too…like a baby.
I cannot comprehend the mindset of the manufacturers and dealers. They are going to ride these prices right into bankruptcy/collapse. Why? Well one reason is the FACT that MOST people do not actually NEED these vehicles.
I'm waiting with cash for the bankruptcy auction.
You might sleep but you will be bankrupt that is a guarantee.
Until stupid people stop spending 70k to 150k for these trucks, all the manufacturers will continue charging that.

It's a rubber band effect. They can't say when it's going to happen but it is. The indicators are all pointing to a financial collapse that will make the '08 mess look like pocket change as personal credit card debt is over $1T, and over 15% of the populace can't afford a $100 unexpected financial event. I had the same reaction. I bought my 2020 Nissan Frontier SV Crew Cab 4x4 loaded with all available options at the time, in June ‘23 with 18k miles. $23,500. That Tundra probably has 200k or more miles on it. I don’t mind a vehicle a quarter of a century old, as long as it was mine 90% of it. I’m not going to buy one for that much that someone else has driven into the ground.
I think older stuff is starting to hold value a lot more because people are realizing the old stuff was built way better and they're more reliable than the new pieces of junk they pump out of the assembly lines.
The problem is any vehicle over 100k miles has serious rot up here in the rust belt. IMO any vehicle with over 100k miles on it isn't worth more than about $8k.

Exploding vehicle prices are a direct result of the manufactured shortage of vehicles during the so-called pandemic, which then falsely inflated prices way about MSRP. The fact that all three U.S. auto manufacturers just announced yet more increases in their vehicle prices just supports this mindset.

It had an AM/FM stereo in it and new air conditioning air-conditioning was more money back then 5.7 L 350 engine with a 700 R transmission I put 400,000 miles on it regular oil changes, it was a bare-bones truck they don’t make stuff like that anymore. Everybody has to have the screens to the seat warmer and whatever else they can think of. That’s why they’re so expensive if some company would just make a bare-bones truck and take all that crap out of there I think we will be better off.
This is what happens when car dealers F-around and find out
Blah blah blah
Somehow I feel better paying 6k for a new engine in my 2014 Ram 1500....Hemi tick got me but I would never buy a new truck again. I bought my 2014 Express for 32k in 2014. WTF are these auto makers thinking of.
i dont know. poor management and strategy.
Change you oil early. Use a 5w30 or 0w40 in hot climate
Hell I'm planning to drop 13k in rebuilding and coyote swapping my 90 bronco.
@@BloodAlwaysFindsItsLevel 0 and 5w20 for me. I used to change my oil at 5k but cutting it down to 4k.
I live near Washington DC and there is no shortage of people dropping the coin to buy these. They are literally EVERYWHERE!
Back in the day, they used to put all the "extras" in their top-of-the-line, limited luxury models (for the people that could afford them), so the rest of us could purchase a more cost-effective "standard" model that was actually "standard." No electric windows, no power locks, no automatic sliding doors and power liftgates (God forbid we exert ourselves opening a sliding door or liftgate), no backup monitors, no heated seats, no 15 speaker sound systems...just a car with a heater, air and a radio to get you from point "A" to point "B" in reasonable comfort at a reasonable cost.
Now they cram unwanted add-ons to various degrees in all models...even trucks!! Remember when trucks were just trucks? Did we, as consumers, ask for all these guaranteed to fail, wallet-emptying "features?" Hell no, we didn't!! I say let the manufacturers choke on their unsold inventories of over-loaded, hedonistic monstrosities, so they can have the much needed "come to Jesus" realization that they royally screwed up with their greed-driven antics in the name of (COUGH!!) innovation.
$160k for an F150? They should be the price for 3 or 4 F150s.
Prices are insane! It's beyond ridiculous! Every truck is a luxury truck!
Bring back the basics. Bring back the trucks from the 50s-80s. No electronics no frills. Just good ol steel and horsepower. Thats all we wanted anyway. No need to make a new model every year. Find what works and stick with it. Make it to last and make ot affordable.
6:00 the thing about writing off your expenses, you still have to make the money before you can write it off. If you have a lease payment of $2000+ you have to make an add'l $2000 just to break even. I had the opportunity to double my shop space by renting the unit next door. It was a great price BUT, I'd have to double my profits JUST to break even. That means twice as much work, twice as much marketing, and hiring people which isn't cheap. I figured after all that I'd end up increasing my income by 20% max. So I passed.
It's an awful combination of supply issues, increasing material costs, ever tightening government regulation, and to top it off dealer markups. The vehicle industry in general is in trouble, for basically anything with a little bit of capability beyond "get to the grocery store and back" You're paying a quarter to half your yearly income in just a down payment anymore.
Taking out a mortgage to finance a car is insane! Buy what you upfront, WHAT YOU NEED NOT WANT!
Going to be a lot of repo's on the market soon. People buying these cars can't afford them and they're gonna get scooped up by the bank.
The banks are working with folks instead of repo, since there are already a repo driver shortage and no where to store these huge vehicles
Do you know what’s even more crazier than all these prices that you’re wearing a beanie and a winter jacket I’m here in Vegas. It’s 7 o’clock and I’m watching your video and it’s almost 98° today.
Keep up the great work I enjoy your videos 👍👍
That's becauis most of the video are re-hashed videos he's already posted done in the winter-ish time.
Its still a little chilling here in Boise Idaho in the mornings 45 degrees right now
$150K for an F-150 ?
I hope the dealer threw in carpeted floor mats for nothing.🤣
Dealerships will consolidate, until vehicles are only available to the ultra-rich.
Throwing some decals on a $72.000. truck and then upping the price $30,000. isn't my idea of smart shopping or anything affordable. That new auto contract with the UAW is making a whale of a difference along with the greed of the companies and dealerships. I hope it was worth it now that the UAW is being laid off.
Hope they enjoyed that raise for all of 6 months.
Best part---His mom---Big V-8 horsepower---Broom, Broom
These trucks cost what my house did 20 years ago. WTF?
We need more trucks at Maverick prices
Agreed but not Mav build quality. Ford is slowly wrecking the Mav too. Upping prices while removing features. The current Mav is several thousand more across the board than a few years ago and it's a disposable trucklet. That's the thing that has kept me from buying one, the value isn't really there anymore.
For 160k you could buy that w900 in the background and go make some money with it, unreal
Facts!
I remember in 2009 my brother bought a brand new lariat for $40,000 and we all thought he was fucking insane. The only difference between that truck and the new one is an aluminum body and a 10 speed transmission. Until the XLT gets down there around $30,000 with the V8 I won’t even be entertaining the idea of buying a new truck. Or they offer a 10 year bumper-to-bumper hundred thousand mile warranty because that’s about how long it’s gonna take to pay off one of these trucks and it’s absurd to think that you’re going to have to make repairs before it’s paid for.
Ive seen so many of these videos, i wish people would stop looking at the top tier trim vehicles and complaining that they are expensive. They arent for you, go buy used or get a base model or get your money up. In the last 10 years, minimum wage has more than doubled where i live, this inflation is to be expected
You covered a lot of dealers, thanks. What I like about this channel is that you just lay out the facts along with some good advice.
He's a lying fool
The Big 3 never learn. No one wants an all electric truck but they went all in. What a bunch of buffoons.
At those prices they look great sitting right where it is.
In the $30’s is o.k for any pick up-cut the length and width of the big trucks and trim the price because now when parking it takes up the whole parking spot-saving metal should bring the price down
It just shows you how many trucks were purchased for image, not need.
So i got my truck for image? I have a 2023 chevy 2500 and it's for image? I'm in construction and use my truck for work not image and i can write it off. Alot of guys use their trucks for work and not image. You need to get a life 🤡
@@atg1338 AKA Mr. Thin Skin, good You use your truck for work. I was referring to the white collar folks that drive their pickup trucks from home to their office job that never do truck duties. I have a life, top 1.2% of household income. Plenty of investment income and living large and in charge.
@@appleiphone69 👈 🤡 is mad that he can't afford a new truck... aka🤡 maybe they use that truck on the weekend to camp, tow a boat or trailer.... aka🤡 maybe you should follow then home and see what they use it for🤔 sounds like you have time on your hands not having a job and all...top 1.2%🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡💯💯💯
Well done video - these prices are crazy! Thanks for creating.
You know truck prices are insane when you can say a 12 year old truck is "only " $28,000 without flinchin'. 😁
I bought a 1996 F350 XL crew cab 7.5 gas from a junkyard for $750. $1000 out the door total after I bought some other parts the same day. (Bumper, spare wheel/tire, set of aluminum wheels I ended up not using, and a tailgate.) I also later bought a bed since it had a utility box on it which I sold.
Repaired the driveshaft, Two new fuel pumps, rear fuel tank, filter, oil change and a fuel pressure regulator and she runs great. Added a nice headlight and tailight kit and she looks awesome!
So black widow is a factory option? You can order your truck gay straight from the factory?
Gay or straight option, that's fun.
Most trucks these days are gay from the factory.
Dude I'm proud of you. Your channel is blowing up!! Keep grinding brother..
Proud of a guy who spews bull💩? Wow you need to get a life
At one time designer jeans mattered but now people just want something they like.
Gonna be the same with SUVs and Trucks, people are gonna get something they like and don't need to make a statement.
They are high AF.
That's why I decided to rebuild a an 86 K-10. the engine is a 355 L48 out of an 69 Camaro. The rust repair has everything corrected. All said and done, I'll have a new basic simple usable truck for 18K.
Hard pass on the Maverick 🚫
Made in Mexico crap
I bought a 2022 F250 XLT FX4, crew cab nav, sliding rear window, 7.3 Godzilla $62,000
It’s a lot more truck than F150 and cheaper.
Just remember that $7,000 or more of these prices goes for the costs of the Union negotiated medical insurance! Then you wonder why they cost so much! Between the UAW and Congress’ meddling that’s why no one can hardly afford these monstrosity’s. Literally everything he’s pointing out costs more than my house! Insanity!!
One of your BEST videos to date! very informative, with you showing so many optional ways to buy. Thanks for posting, . . THUMBS UP!
Saying a 22 year old Tundra is "only $12,000" is just as absurd as the rest of the comparisons. Just sayin'.
I bought a used 2017 4x4 Ecoboost Super Crew with a 4" lift, wheels, and 35" tires for $30,000 last September. It has a 110,000 miles on it. God forbid, if the engine falls out of the bay I'd still ba ahead of the current game.
Omg anything with that many miles for that much money is insane. Used to be anything over 100k miles was junk and worth a few thousand
Buying a car with over 110K miles for 30K that originally costed 50k is more absurd than any 12k Toyota...
Parking lots with trees next to cars are asking for damaged paint from bird droppings.
